  1. thanks mate! i appreciate it. got sent a photo today from mercury of the gtx42r put on and piped up, its close to turning key. the head will be awhile so a standard 26 head is in for the time being hill my more serious head is back.
  2. Yeah mate of course I consitered it, but what u will find is that thw billet wheels are only an advantage over a so called normal to4z when there on race fuel boost because the wheel doesnt flex over 22psi and it has more blades to pick up air. So a billet wheeled to4z wont give me any advantages on pump which is what im only ever going to use on the street. The new gtx garrett turbos are a billet wheel btw. If u have 3000rpm of full boost that is a very useable power band. Not to mention the fast boost thats on all before it. Quick gear changes, short gear ratio from the diff and small diameter wheels all for quick acceleration. It is a 3 liter remember. Torque winz races, not power. Anyway ill let the thread know how it all works out.
  3. selling garrett to4z GCG turbo heat treated rear housing rated at 700hp used for maybe 1000ks, no shaft play, its pretty much new was on full boost round 4100rpm on my engine reason for selling is ive perchance one of the new garrett 42gtx turbo pick up from mercury motorsport in brisbane contact me on 0401 047 460 for any questions at all or advice, if i dont answer just leave a text and ill give u a call (work gets full on sometimes) price is $1400 ono
  4. dropped the car off today to get the garrett 42gtx (1000hp) turbo put on. finding the to4z isnt giving the car the punch its needs to keep up with all the big rigs in brisbane on thursday nights. the head is going away to to have work on it to fit bigger cams. looking for full boost round 5200rpm and rev to 8200rpm. will be interesting to see how the gtx turbo goes with boost over 22psi which is were garrett are claiming that the customer sees the big results.
  5. hay mate, ta for the comments. what components broke mainly in the gear set? just curious.
  6. its been awhile since ive posted in here, been up north for work and havent be able to drive the car much, basically flew back for power play in qld a few months back to drive it and thats about it. A photo was taken of it lapping round qld raceway on the day and put in the latest powercruise magazine under the mercury motorsport workshop pages. (photo below) im the bottom left of the page. in the last six months a ASR 8 liter sump was installed (photo below) and some rear suspension modifications where done to take away the anti squating that all standard r33 skylines have, rear control arms were installed and a little but of cutting and rewelding of steel on different angels were done to shift the center of gravity from just infront of the rear wheel to just behind the front wheel. so the rear suspension dropped round 2 inches under power to aid in traction and a new rear wheel alignment is done with 0 tow and 0.5 positive camber so that when the car squats it put 100% of the tire width down for traction.
  7. sup bro, question, when does the 42r hit full boost?
  8. ahh thanks mate, i went to japan for a few weeks thus why there has been no up dates. the new aftermarket sump has arrived, it holds 3L or 4 Liters more oil, has a fancy pick up in it and mines baffles. will get some pictures when i head into mercury next.
  9. here is a photo of the car on track. note thats not me driving there, it my sponsor. photo is by dave reid
  10. by the 2nd last session it over flowed a little, but i have no idea how much if any oil was already sitting in the catch can from power play, for my last session the boys emptied the catch can and i went out a did a the 5 hot laps then came in and it had 25mm in there. i think its better to have a drain line back into the sump then to have less oil in there from it blowing back. the car gets new oil after every track day also.
  11. what kind of sump u using on the bottom of the 30?
  12. hay Neil, mate yes i do agree i believe that the standard brake are underrated but still at the speeds i was carrying was still to much for them, today i was maxing 4th gear out at QR on the main stright by the flag tower and wasn't braking till half way in 5th. my speed tacko doesnt work so i dont know what speed that is but its over 200ks. update onto today, traction is still an issue coming out of corners, its fine when im straight from 2nd onwards when im straight though. i have no down force on the rear so a wing and rear defuser will help and also doing a mod the takes out the factory anti squating needs to be done to let the rear bit down and grip. oil catch can needs a drain line going to the sump so that going to be done next and also getting a custom sump made as mine is still standard. i have some photos of it on the trailer but once i get some of the car going round the track ill post them up. thumbs up
  13. photo from the rear, just wanted to show how clean it is
  14. turbo blanket for sale, turbo blankets reduce heat soak in the engine bay which also keep intake temps down, they also keep the rear housing of the turbo hot which gives u small gains in power due to hotter air moves faster. $100 PM me or call on 0401 047 460 stay safe
  15. HKS s type intercooler, 600hp rating 601 x 301 x 65mm with aluminum piping for rb25 $600 with rb25 piping, $450 just for the hks cooler i live in brisbane PM me here or call 0401 047 460 thumbs up
  16. the tanks dimensions are - 225mm high and 100mm by 70mm wide made of alloy $100 i live in brisbane PM me here or call 0401 047 460 thumbs up
  17. the 14psi spring is great. boost is only tuned to 19psi on current tune. did you see the photo of the michelin full slick track tires thats 3 post back mate? and there are a few things left on the car to be done with suspension and mods that promote the rear to squat under power and not to bounce back up quickly. traction control has not be consisted as there isn't a problem just yet on this tune and there is so many other things to play with to get traction.
  18. today the car was on the hoist to install a PWR power steering cooler on, due to the pressure the power steering pump will get from wide full slick tires. also some brained lines were installed on the brakes with new racing brake fluid. The brakes at the moment are still relatively standard with standard Nissan calipers front and rear with 301mm EBC slotted rotors with EBC red stuff pads on the front and 298mm project mu SCR and greed stuff pads rear. this area of the car will certainly be changing in the future but i feel that i need to get the car out there again with the new engine and to see what is exactly needed. im racing at queensland raceway this tuesday on the sprint and clubman tracks, if your free come out for a look! photos are of the front and rear brakes that i have for the moment!
  19. a set of full slick Michelin medium compound track tires has arrived, and im entered into next tuesday's time attack day at Queensland raceway. ill let you know how i go. photo is of the tires.
  20. mate, nice rig... best of luck with it thumbs up, jay

  22. ok so the boy at mercury motorsport changed the wastegate spring from a 7psi to a 14psi spring to bring on boost faster and get more mid range. The new tune was on slightly less boost, (20 psi down to 19.5psi) and the dyno shows that the 14psi spring gave 25hp more power in the mid range. The boys at mercury also did a 2nd run with my rear muffler taken off the exhaust, (the rear muffler is a hks super drager muffler that we think is 3inch) my exhuast system is 4 inch down to 3.5 inch at the diff then the 3 inch muffler. by taking the muffler off the car made an extra 32hp which now give me a total of 524.3 hp on 19.5psi on pump fuel with the limiter at 7100rpm. ill be looking at putting a full 4inch exhaust and mufflers on the car soon. here is a photo of the dyno sheet and a photo of the car on the dyno
