thanks noel, i got new brakes coming and all new suspension parts plus new wheels and full slicks. wont see me at lapping before then, but in the mean time there will be plenty of test and tunes and dyno comps to promote the new sponsors.

with my 275 federals on the rear it had rubbish traction in 1st and 2nd but 3rd wasnt to bad (spinning a little but still progressing forward) but 4th gear hooked up and it just goes. with the 7psi spring in the gate boost came on lazy which aids traction so thats about to be destroyed on monday when the boys at mercury retune it with the 14psi spring and id say traction is lost up to 4th on the 275 federals! but the people that know me know that i hate not having traction, thats why i used to run RE55's on the street. so ill be chasing wider tires and wheels to get this down. when its tuned on e85 i think its clearly going to need a decent width full slick. have to just wnat and see but ill update the forum when it comes to that.

so it got the run in tune last friday and i had power play last saturday, here are some photos from the day at queensland raceway. i lost 1 race out of the whole day to a spastic evo that mercury motorsport also built, i look forward to a serious tune and full slicks for a rematch hehe

the engine is in and received a run in tune. on 20psi and rev limit set at 7100rpm the car made 492hp on pump. there are 2 things that need to be changed before it gets a hard pump tune and that is the spring in the waste gate at the moment is a 7psi spring so the car is lazy on to boost, so it will be changed to a 14psi spring so then the car will make a lot more in the mid range and therefore would have more power to build off for the top end so it should make more up top. and the exhaust is all 4 inch but finishes off at 3 inch at the muffler. so a new muffler is needed also. this engine is made to rev to 8500rpm, i dont think the tuner at mercury motorsport will take it that high just yet but i look forward to seeing what is to come on pump fuel. thumbs up

there is no reason why it cant make 650 - 700hp on e85

to be correctly mod plated it needs to have padding anywhere near where the head can hit.

The engine is in the car and the piping is being fabbed and the rest of the gear is being bolted in. went in today and snapped some photos, the piping for the intercooler is almost complete, i got a photo of the nitto oil pump and the turbosmart 50mm gate and the koyo radiator arrived. here are the photos

hay mate, to tell the truth i dont know what is being done with the cam covers. the engine is in the car and the ARE intercooler is bolted in position, pipe work has begun, the mercury welder is very neat, ill post up photos in a few days once it is done. thumbs up

The boys at Mercury Motorsport decided that my hks intercooler is to small so they found me a big ARE intercooler to put on instead. here is a photo

If your wondering what the hell the 1st photo is the custom crank girdle, it ties in with the chromemoly main caps. Its purpose is to keep the engine tied all together and to stay true at high rpm and horse power. And the last photo is of the chromemoly main caps that tie in with the custom crank girdle!

i think the turbo itself is to large to low mount, its got a .96 rear housing. im going to check what flange is has on monday, the turbo is currently at my workshop, and this turbo doesnt have a internal wastegate, needs an external item...... so u can drop a screamer pipe off it. stay safe, hope that helps

hay boys, i kept this pretty quite but ive sold the rb25 and ive purchased a rb30/26 custom built engine from mercury motorsport....... the engine is 3068cc custom crank girdle to hold it together at 8500rpm crome olly main caps ported and polish head tomie oil just to name a few then a par gear set and excedy clutch engine goes in the car in 2 weeks, i may keep u up dated on how she goes

this may help as ive done most of thing weight reduction to a r33 gtst r33 weights 1395 standard i dropped 95kg by changing front seats to sparco spit fires removed rear seats and seat belts with bolts spear tire and jack lighter racing wheels half the sound dentiner carbon boot lid removed rear wing thats was 95kg i still have a/c in, to keep in leagle u need the heating element for the demister but with the the cooling gear my workshop says there is 20kgs to be lost from behind the dash and the engine bay and i still have a standard bonnet and standard steal guards. my chrome olly 7 point cages weights 25kgs. i think u can get the car to 1200kg with touching everything but it wont weight 1200 with u in and a full tank of fuel. and thats were it starts with u in it and fuel. best of luck

i priced one of my re55s once, got it fix, my next trake day i did my fastest time, not saying the tires was better then b4 but it was fine at the track, just tell bob jane of whoever that u race on these tires so they do a great job! best of luck
