Paulr33 - thanks mate ill try them 700hp - afm were apparently cleaned when checked out? what would i be looking for with the throttle cable? Filter was changed less than 500km ago. If the plugs are spaced incorrectly wouldnt it stuff up all the time? My mods are: front mount, boost controller on 10psi, splitfires, pod, thats pretty much it engine wise. Has never been tuned while with me (1 year), stock computer. Resetting computer? is that where you unplug the batt and put ur foot on brake to drain excess then plug back in? if so ive tried that too. One other possibility might be water in the cf bonnet and into the pod? Thanks guys

Hey guys. I took my R33gtst for its first service a couple of months ago and from then on it has been playing up. One day it will run strong, then all of a sudden it will jump around, the idle fluctuates, theres very little power then all of a sudden full power and you nearly get sent through the window, then it runs fine. Some days it perfect, some days it does this for days so bad its undriveable. It does it sometimes when cold, sometimes when warm, its completely random. It will start to splutter for 5 minutes then go away again, its completely random and it's giving me the shits. I took it back to the guys where i got it serviced, but it had been two months since i first got it serviced there and i wasnt really going to blame them. They changed the plugs, cleaned the AFM, checked the coils (splitfires), theres nothing suss in the oil, not milky or pieces of anything, and they dont have a clue, ebentually i didnt go back cos labour was costing me too much. They also swapped the ECU but nothing. Has anyone had a similar problem? Crank angle sensor was also swapped. One strange thing, i also have a slow power drain so need to charge my battery every 5 or so days (cant get it fixed til i get the engine fixed), and SOMETIMES when the battery drains the car fully and its fully recharged again it runs ok for a while but then has a spaz again. If anyone has any ideas what it could be please let me know!! I have a feeling something may have been left loose during the service but we cant find out what. Im booked into Turbotechnics tomorrow to have it looked at but these bills are piling up. Cheers everybody

Best Tyres Under $300 Each
Freeman replied to Freeman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hey guys well i took the advice of whoever said the falken 452's and im glad i did they are awesome. i dont know bout getting a set for $1100, but they are bloody good. i paid $326 per tyre, i only needed two, and they were 255/35/18. apparently they are falkens flagship tyre, overtaking the 451's, and im heaps happy. i dont condone anything illegal and all that crap but just for measure, a corner i used to be able to take at about 80km/h i can now do at 110km/h and feel HEAPS more safer doing it, like no half sliding out or anything its like a go kart lol. wet handling is fairly good too, usually i avoided driving at all in the wet due to traction but i can use about half or two thirds throttle with no spin. hope this helps anyone looking for tyres. luke -
Best Tyres Under $300 Each

there wasnt a cheap and an expensive hankook in 255/35/18 dimensions from what bob jane told me. only their performance tyre was this size and they only have one. didnt sound right tho.. -

yeah my mate got the new falkens 2 days ago i might give them a try thanks -
Ive read the tyre comparison stickied but still cant come to a conclusion which tyres i should get. I need two rear tyres as they are on the belts, and i dont want to spend over $300 each. I have no idea about tyres and i need two 255/35/18's. ive sussed out some prices, $240 for Nexens, but someone said they were a shitty compliance tyre. I can get Hankooks for $289 (they couldnt tell me the name of them, apparently they have only one?) and yokohamas for $520! apparently they are really soft and get eaten up really quickly tho. So im just looking for really good grip in dry and good lifespan (not excellent, willing to trade some for better grip). So what does everybody think would be the best option?

hey bass ive got a s1 with the cf bonnet but also a s2 front bar, an mspec one with the fog lights. could that also be why its not fitting? -
yeah i know man its too low to be put under load, but does anyone change into 1st going round corners? and the thing is in my car it doesnt do it when going round corners at the same speed... got us stumped
-
I went in a mates r33 the same as mine the other day, and as he was going round corners in second gear there was a grinding noise from what i thought was the bottom half of his engine from about 1000-2000 rpm and disappeared after 2000 rpm. he said it was gears but i think its more serious. anyone got any ideas?
