  1. It was the last promise that made me lose it.
  2. This made me seriously LOL.
  3. I have evidence. I have a lot of evidence in the form of emails, recorded (by my insurer) conversations with my insurer, reports from 3 different workshops and the fact that my car had to undergo considerable re-repairs at another crash repairer. Yet I am not allowed to name and shame. I understand the risk that SAU doesn't want to take but in my specific experience the crash repairer took too long, and then returned my vehicle in a dangerous state. The company responsible for this should be named and shamed.
  4. So is it just Ruby, Luke & myself going from SA? Anyone else heading over? Like Luke I'm flying over on Thursday & back on Sunday. You guys got plans for the Thurs, Fri & Saturday nights?
  5. There are many flaws in that argument Steve, but surely even you recognise that 'God' is a word that men (as it probably wasn't women) created to describe events that they couldn't understand. For the above statement to hold true God would have to be measurable like light and heat. Also you can watch evolution at work by studying a virus (although there is some debate as to whether viruses can be considered a form of life or something that exists at the edge of life).
  6. I shouldn't invest so emotionally in sporting teams that I really have nothing to do with... I suffered last year after watching Adelaide United finish second in the 2008 pre-season, second in the 2008 A-League finals and second in the Asian Champions League only to follow that up with the A-League wooden spoon in 2009. I went to their ACL game last week which they lost 0-1 despite outplaying the Chinese team. At least they finished top of their group and have a home final in 2 weeks time. Last year the Crows were 30 seconds away from an AFL Preliminary Final and Neil Craig came out pre-season stating the Crows were a top-4 team with the best list the club has ever had... and now we're 0-6 having lost to teams who finished 14th (Freo), 12th (Swans), 16th (Melb), 7th (Carltank), 3rd (WBD) and 10th (Port) in 2009. I had hoped for a 5-1 start, 4-2 at worse. Now I'm grateful that we play Richmond twice this year... we should win one of those. Barcelona, currently the greatest football club in the world that plays the beautiful game, was knocked out of the UEFA Champions League last week by an ultra defensive Inter Milan despite Barca dominating with 78% possession. And to top it all off my Dream Team squad is shit and currently ranked 51688 out of 290861. At least my Super Coach squad is doing ok ranked 6002 from 362168 entries.
  7. Damn. I will still be in Sydney on this date after the Super Lap. When did SLED get a R32 GTR?
  8. Are there going to be auctions again because I would really prefer raffles with $2 tickets than auctions. Just my 2c (plus 0.2c GST)
  9. I'm in Steve. Sorry, I have been meaning to respond for a while now. Someone may have to nudge me every now 'n then to make sure I'm awake as I volunteer at the RSPCA on Wednesday's and the doggies exhaust me.
  10. Gust - do the CDs only include photos of our own car? From what Dion told me last night you have 28 photos of my car but I'd love some photos of the other cars out there as well. PS - I own the GMG R32 GTR with gold BBS rims in the top photo of your second post.
  11. This feels like an acceptance speech at an awards ceremony but I have a lot of people to thank. Thanks Dion (dark.sky) for letting me stay over Sunday night and for the run to Gawler to get some oil. Thanks Abe (Aberax) for getting me to and from Dion's place. Congrats on the award too. Thanks Steve (Madaz) & Luke (heslo) for organising the event. Thanks Matty (Matty 31) and Dave (scandyflick) for use of the trailer and help trying to get my GTR back on the track. Thanks Madaz (again) for the BBQ. Thanks Dale (D_Stirls) for organising the timing gear (I hope everything went back in perfect order and you got your deposit back). Thanks Andrew (semislickR32) for the friendly competition - pity I had to pull out and couldn't match your 1:21.64. I had a great morning followed by a frustrating afternoon when my GTR once again spewed oil everywhere and had to be kept off of the track. Had a little sulk as I was feeling confident and the weather, track and general atmosphere were all conducive to dropping lap times. However, I still managed to drop 1.6 secs off of my previous PB to set a 1:22.45 before lunch. I have to spend some more $ and get a decent oil catch can that drains back to the sump via a one-way valve as the current catch can - that came with the car from Japan - has ruined 2 days at Mallala now. And I hope it was only the catch can...
  12. More like Matty prays to the God Zilla.
  13. ahhh... but there can be only one.
  14. Woot. Uranus is back and waiting for me to fill it again. Now if only Saturn would work again... ***Probably only Dohmar will know what I'm referring to***
  15. Yeah I'm still in. Sorry, didn't realise you wanted confirmation.
  16. Picked my car up from Manta today (I can't work on my car like most of you - plus I wouldn't trust anything I personally did which would be bad at nearly 200kmph). I was surprised at how tight the car felt, idles better and the clutch is better. Feeling ready, just have to exchange a leaking gas can and find my way to Dion's house with more success than I had on Saturday night. Looking forward to the day.
  17. I have grave concerns for Adelaide's prospect for 2010. The pre-season produced too many injuries and too many in the squad look underdone. Bock and van Berlo spent most of the pre-season on the sidelines, and Moran, Porplyzia, Dangerfield, Rutten, Knights, Maric, Symes, McLeod, Edwards, Thompson, Sellar, Burton, Tippett and Johncock all had injuries and needed to be rested at some stage. Obviously Martin and Otten are still recovering from knee surgery. If we look at the team against Sydney the bolded players are the only ones not in the list above: B: Jared Petrenko, Ben Rutten, Brent Reilly HB: Michael Doughty, Nathan Bock, Simon Goodwin C: Myke Cook, Bernie Vince, David Mackay HF: Patrick Dangerfield, Taylor Walker, Richard Douglas F: Trent Hentschel, Kurt Tippett, Jason Porplyzia Foll: Ivan Maric, Andrew McLeod, Nathan van Berlo I/C: Scott Thompson, James Sellar, Tyson Edwards, Brett Burton Goodwin injured his thigh in the 2nd quarter of the Sydney game. When you lay it out like that only 8 players (not including Goodwin) are playing who had an uninterrupted pre-season. It seems to have become a fact in AFL that without the bulk of your players having a good pre-season you will not compete for the premiership. Congrats to Freo and good score on the jumper Ryan.
  18. Happy Birthday to the double D's - Dave & Dion.
  19. Firstly congrats to everyone who participated in the event and won the Best Club Display trophy. I know a lot of time and effort goes into making your cars look so good and then setting them up so impressively. A small gripe I want to make is that after winning the trophy for Best Club Display I was disappointed when empty pizza boxes and cans were left on the field when a bin was only 20m away. I am a litter Nazi so this may not be an issue for many but it did bother me enough to pick them up &, with Dion's help, make sure the area occupied by SAU was clear of litter.
  20. If by 'charge the battery' you mean drive the car more regularly so that said battery maintains its change then I believe that we could come to an arrangement
  21. 1. Firmware = SN04 2. Yep, and other drives work off of the same cable and port. 3. Nope, but the issue is that sometimes the PC will hang during the POST, and the BIOS always fails to recognise 2 of the other drives when this drive is plugged in = not good and also strange. 4. The drive does spin up, and with no weird noises, so that's something. I'm fairly sure if I had access to another drive with the same f/w rev (or maybe even different f/w) the board could be swapped and the drive would work.
  22. Spotted a Midnight Purple R33 GTR on the Southern Expressway...then the guy followed me home - another GTR stalker He was a nice guy who had just purchased his GTR and brought it over from Melbourne and was after some accurate information after speaking to 'Toy Cars'. I steered him to this site.
  23. Democracy is a myth. Don't believe the hype.
  24. Ok IT gurus. I need your help. My 1TB Seagate AV c: drive has died. My mobo will not recognise its existence and neither will my mates PC. Story goes I bought a 2nd hand 1TB HDD off of a mate. He installed the new HDD and moved one of the older 320GB ones (I have 5 HDDs in the PC now). The first time I shut the PC down after the new HDD had been installed and then started it up the next day a message appeared stating a problem with hardware. I just selected 'close' or 'ok' and everything worked fine. A few days later another friend came around to reinstall the 320GB HDD that hadn't been installed correctly (the mounting brackets were upside down so they didn't lock into the case) and move the box which holds 4 HDDs in front of the fan into the correct position (about an inch forward). All 5 drives were working fine until we shut the PC down to make these changes - then the bios wouldn't recognise the c: drive. The Seagate HDD was purchased in May 2008 and is an audio/video one with a 5 year warranty. It contains about 750-800GB of data including all of my photos. Please do not make comments about backing up data as they will not be appreciated. Any suggestions as to how I may be able to retrieve the data? I especially want the photos and gaming data.
  25. Spotted a white R32 GTR in the city on Carrington Street around 5pm. Gave a wave and got one back.
