  1. Hey Guys, I'm going tomorrow to pick up an electronic ignition from an MR30 to pop into my c210. I've done a search and found that it should bolt straigh in and you just connect the 2 wires. Excuse the dumb ar$e question, do these 2 wires already exist on the standard C210, or are they new wires I need to connect somewhere. If yes, anyone got some quick step by step instructions? thanks

  3. WOW, how funny. This is not a real car. years ago I asked someone on here to do a photoshop of what a GTR bodykit would look like on an R34 sedan and this is what he sent me. Not sure if he did it or found it on the web. Check out the strip in the middle of the rear door. it disapears when you get to the flared bit.

  6. First time was around 7-8 yrs ago. R33 GTSt. Had no idea what to expect cause the only common place to see a Skyline back then was on playstation. Went more out of curiosity than thinking of buying one. Highly modified, dropped to the floor. The guy pulled out of a car yard, and just lit them up through chatswood. Went to the bank and organised a loan on the spot.

  10. can I get some opinions guys? I was thinking of building my C210 to what I think it would be like if Nissan continued with a GTR, before they went Turbo. The plan as it stands right now is to do the following. L24 and auto gearbox get ripped out 240z pre pollution twin carbs and manifold bought. Extractors and exhaust bought L28 could be on the cards. Respray (currently green and flakey, tossing up either Black, Silver or white) Round tailights (rare as rocking horse sh!t. Found and bought) Flares around the wheel arches (rare as round tailights, found, checking on other body parts) Boot spoiler from C110 Front chin spoiler from C210 (found, checking on shipping) Side mirrors moved to front fenders (not sure if this legal, but found a set anyway) suspension completely redone (not hardcore race set up, just better than stock) Watanabe or similar wheels Mix of C10 and C110 badging including maybe old GTR badges (found) I know alot of people will say don't make it something it's not, but hey it's not as if I'm messing with a classic or anything. Besides Nissan stuffed up when they stopped the GTR at the C110, so I'm here to fix it. At the end of the day, the aim is to have a decent period car, that will still handle quite poorly compared to todays standards and scare you a bit in the rain. I'm not thinking along the lines of a restoration to original specs. The C210 is quite boring to bother with this. What do you think?

  15. What's the deal with the L28's from a patrol? are all variants good for an upgrade? are they set up different to the L28's from a Z? and would anything need to be changed on the engine if I'm putting it on a c210? thanks
  16. Hey Guys, I might be able to get my hands on an L26, with 5sp manual out of a Z, which was apparantly reconditioned only 20000k's ago. My understanding is that this would be a straight bolt in job. Is it worth the hassle to swap out my L24 in the C210 for this? I've currently got an auto, but can get my hands on a gearbox quite easily, so the big issue is the motor. What would you pay for an L26 motor and 5sp? Cheers
  17. Thanks for the replies guys. Car is back up and running, cost me an arm and a leg in parts. All up $1.50 for 1 resistor :-) Was ready to take plates back to the RTA, but couldn't part with the car. I think I'm nuts, but I really enjoy driving this thing. :-)

  21. hi guys, needs some help fining an engine for my C210. The motor stopped on me yesterday, and was about to take the plates back to the RTA, and chuck the thing, but for some reason really don't want to get rid of it. My current motor has really had it, was barely starting as it was, and I'm looking to make the thing as realiable as possible for a 30yr old car. I've spoken to a few places this morning for a full recondition and I'm looking at over $1500. So if anyone know's of a working motor - L24, L26 or L28 in Sydney, please let me know. The car is a 78 Coupe, auto, but will do a manual conversion now as well. thanks

  23. Thanks Guys for all the info, as usuall much appreciated. Now for the fun question - anyone have any idea where i can pick up the gearbox and peddle box from? Or is it easier to simply add a clutch peddle to the current brake and accel. peddles? I'm pretty much ready to buy now, so if anyone see's anything anywhere please let me know. Also if there's anyone on here from sydney who has done the conversion before and would like to be paid to do the conversion please PM me with a price. I'm about to start building a house (owner builder) so time will be scarce. Thanks Again Bobby
  24. Hi guys, I want to do a manual conversion on my C210 coupe. Can anyone help me out and advise where I can find all the parts needed and what is needed? I've decided to keep the 2.4 motor, so won't need anything super strong. Also where is a good place to get the motor rebuilt? again not looking to be rebuilt with huge power, just a rebuild to make it run as good as possible and will probable also add a twin carb set up, and maybe update the exhaust and headers. somewhere in south west sydney would be great. finally anyone have an idea on what the rebuild would cost. A little while ago I posted about transforming the car into track only, but for some weird reason I really enjoy driving the old girl, and so will keep it street, but want the best out of the car. Once the above is done, I'll look at suspension upgrade, and new coat of paint. Interior is in really good nic, so nothing planned there. Thanks Guys
  25. Hi Guys, I'm from Sydney and may be travelling to gold coast to buy a GTR. Can anyone recommend a workshop who can run some tests and do a full inspection of the car? At minimum, I want a compression and leak down test done, but would prefer someone who can do these and a full inspection of the car. I want to be able to come up look at the car and run test/inspection in one day so am trying to organise all of this before hand. The owner said he has already done a compression test, with figures of 165 across all 6. Is it hard to falsify this stuff, or could a workshop easily give increased figures so it looks good. Cheers
