I had this exact same dilema, a few months ago. In the end went with the V35. Personally, as undeniabley awesome as the late Evo's are performance wise, to me the styling had a lot to do with it. At the end of the day, I just couldn't get past the fact that the Evo shape has to be one of the most unimaginative bodies on a performance car EVER made. (and the WRX of course) It all depends on what you want - daily + track beast, go Evo all the way. Not to interested in track, and want a well equipped sexy car, and are in love with skylines- V35.

Add another one to the "Yes Please" list. I can see the point about no seperate sections for the 32/33/34's, but the V35 is a completely seperate kettle of fish. Almost every aspect of the car is different to the R series. Advice given in nearly all the seperate forums, such as the N/A forum, suspension forum, etc will not apply to V35's. The V35 is becoming more and more popular. Maybe if there was a "V engined Skylines section", rather than specifically V35, or "Skylines 2002 Onwards" as more than likely all variants in the foreseeable future will V configuration rather than straight 6's.

I know the topic says R32,33 and 34 only, but screw you guys, the V35 is a Skyline as well. http://www.aprperformance.com/index.php?op...2&Itemid=44

The problem with transmission places is how many have experience with CVT's? Maybe see if the Nissan guys can take a better look. Both the current Maxima and Murano have CVT transmission, and although I'm sure there might be some differences there may also be some similarities. Did they offer to do anything further? Also try searching google for Maxima and Murano forums. See if you can find similar stories. Both these sell in pretty high numbers OS and I know there are dedicated forums for both cars. I think the maxima one is www.maxima.org

Sounds like the car is going into "limp mode" If the ECU detects some kind of weird reading from one of the many sensors it will put the car in a fail safe mode so you cannot do any damage (should something be wrong). With limp mode, once the ECU detects that everything is normal, it will bring the car back to normal operation. So my guess, is that some part of the start up process is sending a faulty signal to your ECU. Best bet is to take it someone who can get the fault codes from your ECU and you should be able to pin point where the fault is coming from.

Thansk Rezz, appreciate the help.

+1 here dude, if an outsider read some this shit, you would think the average age of a skyline owner was3.

Wheel Sizes And Compliance
NISMO replied to NISMO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Ahhh, they may be it -
Hey Guys, My V35 that's coming has 17" wheels which I want to change. Cause I have to buy new tyres as part of compliance, i was thinking it's a good time to get a new set of wheels. This way I don't have to buy 17" tyres as part of compliance and then 19" tyres for the new wheels. I was speaking to my compliance guy who says that the V35 can only be complied with 17" or 18" wheels cause this is the only sizes they were released in. But when looking for my car, there were quite a few cars up for auction with factory 19" wheels. Is there anywhere I can find out what size wheels I can have on the V35 as part of compliance? Some sort of website or document or something? Someone I can call? If I can avoid it I really don't want to get new 17" tyres when days later i will be swapping them for 19's. Any help appreciated Cheers Bobby

That's why it's called the Nissan GTR, not Skyline. Believe it or not when the R34 came out there was a lot of people saying that that wasn't a real skyline as well. Probably the same for the R33, R32 etc. As for the true Skyline, I think the C10 owns that name. The Skyline was around way before the r32. Before the turbos Skylines were N/A including the legendary C10. They then went turbo and are now going back to N/A, who knows what will happen next. As for factory performance the V35 350GT Coupe, is a better performer all round compared to the R34 Gtt. Quicker out of the box, much much better interior. As much as some Skyline lovers, love the turbo's, I'm pretty sure Nissan is more interested in selling as much cars as possible, instead of catering to the relatively small, grey import market in Australia, and other countires. All you have to do is look at how successful the V35 (G35) has been in the US, and you can bet your a$$ that they won't be going to an R34 like Skyline any time soon. Personally I think the new GTR finally has the body and look to match it's performance. But I'm probably a bit biased, seeing as I've bought a V35 :-)

Already started dude :-) I'm leaving a trail of lemons everywhere I walk this morning. The pockets are full :-) Yeah I know Tanders 8th is what screwed him, but what gets me is that the rule is if two drivers are on equal points the winner of the last race wins the round. IMHO, Tander won 2, Kelly won 1. Tander gets the round.
-
Someone please explain to me the logic behind the points system where two drivers finish the round on the same points and the round win goes to the guy who won the last race. Absolute bullsh!t. Tander won races 1 and 2, finished on the same points as Rick "every single rule and ajudication has been designed in my favour" Kelly, yet cause Kelly won the last race, he gets the round win. Once again, the V8's show that just when you think that after changing the points system every year for the last 4000yrs that they would finally get it right, they manage to fu(k up another aspect. Oh, and Channel 7 making the race 7 or 8 laps shorter without telling the teams so that Perth gets to watch live AFL, really shows the level of commitment we can expect to motor racing. (just read that back and damn, i'm so bitter this morning I must have raided the neighbours lemon tree in my sleep :-)

Shipping Insurance
NISMO replied to NISMO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Thanks Mate, Already have 160 pics of the car at the doc, and as for sinking, the people I have spoken to say that the insurance they offer covers you for salvage costs. -
Shipping Insurance
NISMO replied to NISMO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
Yeah I read that. to be honest I'll probably take the ship that gets my car here the quickest. I found a broker today who wants 1% of FOB which is around $200, so I'll more than likely take that up. Sambo, my car is completely stock with no bits on it, so I'm hoping all goes well. Man I hate waiting. -

Shipping Insurance
NISMO replied to NISMO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
RORO. That's part of the reason I really want to have insurance, even though I know it's gonna be a drama if I want to claim anything. I have a file with 160 pics of the car, which i will send the insurance company, but again trying to prove any claim will be pretty hard from what i hear. -
Shipping Insurance
NISMO replied to NISMO's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
thanks Sambo, any companies you know of? I'm almost certain the car will come in with Kiwi, but want to be preparred in case it doesn't. Cheers Bobby -
Hey Guys, Can anyone point me towards someone who does shipping insurance? My V35 is at the docks in Japan, but still hasn't been booked on a ship yet. I've read that Kiwi includes insurance, but in case it goes with a different carrier, is it worth getting Insurance? I've had one quote which is based on the 2% of FOB price, and works out to be around $500, as the FOB price is aorund $23k. Any suggestions appreciated. Cheers Bobby
