  1. So. It's ok for Hamilton to disobey team orders to get ahead, but Alonso is not allowed to do what he needs to, to get ahead? I don't understand how Hamilton letting Alonso through ( the team strategy ) when he should have, would have benifeted Alonso. The strategy was there to ensure both drivers could come in and out without incident. Hamilton disobeyed the team strategy and now Alonso is the pr!ck for putting him in his place? Either way bring it on, about time F1 got a bit (and I mean a bit) of feeling back into it.
  2. Here's a pic with the thing I'm talking about, just above the clock, and air con display. It talks to me every time I start the car, and the compliance guy said it was the toll thing, without a card in ti.
  3. Cool thanks mate. I might look into trying to relocate it though, cause it's on my dash, which doesn't bother me, but some low life might thinks it's something worth smashing a window for. Thanks again
  4. Chris, I've still got the Japanese toll thing on my dash. Does this mean I can't simply remove the thing? Do I need to be careful of anything? Cheers Bobby
  5. Personally the more I think about it, I don't blame Alonso at all. There are no rules that says team mates MUST give each other the best possible chance at winning. Yes, I'm sure the teams would encourage helping each other, but Alonso is there to win the championship, just as Hamilton is. Deducting points from the team is ridiculous and shows the typical F1 attitude that has made so many fans turn away. As a team they should be able to do whatever they like, within the rules. No if's no buts. For all we know Hamilton could have slept with Ron's daughter ( if he has one) and this is the boss's way of getting back at him :-)
  6. Great thread and cars guys! I took my V35 out on the track about a month or so ago, and have since decided that trying to squeeze quick times out of it will involve mega dollars. So being inspired from this thread, I've decided that I'm gonna look into getting a dedicated R32 track car. Now I just have to tell the "Director of Funds Allocated to Spending On Cars"
  7. All part of the game of the dude. You drive a skyline, you pay high insurance, you get unwanted attention from the police. 99% of us here do the right thing, drive normally and are decent law obiding citizen. Unfortunately the other 1% who think they're Schuey, like to reverse quick cars into shop frons etc, have permanantly fu*ked it up for the rest of us. The only way to avoid it is to drive a Citroen
  8. Going off thr prices some of the import places are bringing crappy ones in for. I'd imagine mid to high 40's is the go. However, if you decide to part it out before selling, I'll happily take the supercharger! Seriously! If it's just you and the misses, hold off for the new GTR!! Spend the kids inheritance, you know they would :-) Cheers
  9. My V35 is an auto (tiptronic), and I'm very happy with it. Very very nice gearbox, especially in manual mode. The upshifts are very crisp, and on the downshift it has rev matching (kind of like blipping the throttle when down shifting in a manual) The car is a daily driver in sydney traffic, which is why i went auto. However, if I was planning engine mods (not worth it in a N/A car), and to track the car, I'd want nothing but manual.
  10. Thanks Dave, I.m pretty sure the sizes I was considering getting in post 1 would fit, but may have changed my mind on the wheels :-) cheers
  11. NSW guys, looks like the NSW Texikahna is on the 16th September, what does everyone think of crusing down to this as a meet. I'm thinking of entering, just not sure how an auto will do on a motorkahna track. Any thoughts http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=175548
  12. Sorry dude, but by your logic, won't they just skip the closed airport just like they do a designated track? I think it's got nothing to do with being cheap or easy, but more to do with people just don't get that street racing is dangerous. I think only one of two things can change someones mind when it comes to this, and that is 1. mature and grow out of it 2. unfortunateally be involved or have a loved one involved in a severe accident because of street racing If both these things have happended to you and you still don't get it, then the quicker you drive off to that big street race track in the sky, the better off the rest of us will be. As far as gear you need for a circuit, every track i've been to, only asks you have ankle to neck clothing, closed shoes and a helmet (which at someplaces you can hire for $20)
  13. definately a chance she could be a fault, BUT the damage, and the fact the old guy was thrown from the car, don't really suggest that the commodore drivers were putting along at a leasuirely pace. Sadly, there's no simple solution, cause morons will continue to do what morons do. You can provide driver education courses for free every day of the week, and put a track in every suburb, and you can bet your a$$ some d1ckhead will still go and drag someone on a public road.
  14. Hey mate, Haven't driven a 34, but it's light years ahead of my old 33. General consesus is that it's actually a pretty big step up in refinement compared with all previous skylines. In saying that, it's a very different car being NA. If you're thinking of extracting decent power out if it, then prepare your wallet. It's not uncommon for a few thousand dollars of upgrades to get you only an extra 15 or so kw at the wheels. For me it's a daily driver, that I think looks great and is a great buy for the price. For this purpose i think it's fantastic, and have no regrets at all. But, in stock form it's not the best handling, or the quickest car out there, and is quite heavy. I've given it a shot at a track, and again for what it is, I think it done quite well. But have decided for the money it will take to turn it into a good track car, I can buy a dedicated R32 track car. Fuel, there's a thread somewhere here on fuel, butI'm getting around 500k's to a tank. So, love the car, so much so that I had an offer to sell it which would have made me a nice profit, but i think it's more a touring car that a track/speed beast. If a nice refined car is what your after, take one for a drive, you'll love it. cheers Bobby
  15. Unfortunately seems to be quite a common problem. A few of the 350z guys have reconditioned the power window motor but also didn't last long so they just go out and buy new motors. Best price I've seen is $500 for both passanger and drivers side. Not sure why it would interfere with the central locking though.
  16. Not that I'm in a position to get one, but I found a while ago that the Greddy twin turbo kit was pretty much the best value of the lot. i know a few people in the states have them and are quite happy. http://www.raceinspired.com/p-730-greddy-t...-2003-2006.aspx Cheers Bobby
  17. Hey guys, I'm looking into a couple of different aftermarket wheels, and was wondering if anyone knows if the below sizes will fit without any fender rolling/mod set 1 Front 18x9 +18 Rear 18x10 +22 set 2 Front 18x8.5 +20 Rear 18x9.5 +20 I'm trying to get them as flush with the fender as possible, and don'y like the sunken look of the standard wheels. Cheers Bobby
  18. Dami it, Chris, just think of all the new models that will eventually hit our shores. wouldn't it be great to have a plug in solution ready to go for when they get here.
  19. Nooooo, please don't say that by "later V35's" you mean the 2005 models.
  20. Family affair over at my place. First my 3 1/2 yr old, then the misses, then the 2 yr old and now me. Once one of your kids gets the flu, there is NO WAY you can avoid it :-) ME - Jack cover your mouth when you cough Jack - Dad I want up ME - picks up Jack Jack - coughs and splutters for and easy 20 mins straight in to daddys face. gotta love it.
  21. I've used a few different people all with good results and prices "Blitz" (nick on these forums, great prices and excellent service - yahoo only) http://www.slidewizeimports.com/index.html (sames as Blitz) "Streeter" e-mail - [email protected] (Jesse is also on these forums, great prices, very very good service, and can get almost anything, I think though only shipping through EMS at this stage. I've just order Rays wheels through him. Best price I found by around $500. Lives in Japan, and great for the harder to find parts)
  22. agree, Yahoo a few days ago had everything from OEM exhausts, panels, seats and even a whole engine (over $4000)
  23. the only thing that worries me is dealers bringing in crap cars for cheap prices. i got a mail yesterday from Prestige for a 2003 coupe for ~$28000
  24. Hey Nigel, what's the deal with things like the IMPUL rom, do they need to be tuned once on the car? I was looking at the AMUSE rom for the CPV35 about a month and a half ago, but got a bit scared with the fact that there would be noone here in Aus to tune the thing, if needed. Amuse, have built some tear a$$ vq35's which is why I was looking into it. Cheers Bobby
  25. I've just ordered mine from a member on 350z tech, who's in the states, but he organised a group buy and is shipping to Aus. $180 USD shipped. It's his own fabrication. I think called Toykilla or something. I've also installed a HKS Premium Suction kit, which is a straight intake pipe and new airfilter. Looks good, sounds great, but not sure if it makes any more power. Bum dyno, says it feels better but who knows. And Tein 350z H-tech springs. Excellent springs if you want to lower it a bit, but still retain all the comfort.
