  1. yep, they've been using a v config, for ages. Even in the R34's. Of course it' nothing like the VQ in the road cars.
  2. Love it! Nothing like simple maths. Personally I've been following the development for a while (years) and absolutely love it. The car from almost every aspect has revolutionised performance cars in it's price bracket and way beyond. I wanna see a poll on the average age of those saying "It sh1t. No clutch so I can't drift it" $100 bux says it will be 16-17. From a performance aspect, anyone who thinks the car has faults, needs to get their head read. Too heavy - for what? 11.7 not quick enough from a stock car?
  3. Damn it! Had a quick look(very quick) couldn't find it. Oh well. I'll just use this thread to chat to myself then. No point in letting it go to waste.
  4. Enjoy The exhaust sound, is very similar to my V35 coupe. But you'd expect that with a similar config engine. (minus twin blowers, extra capacity and all the extra power)

    Hi Guys!

Hey Mate, Welcome. Check out the link in my sig, we have a whole section on V35's. Cheers
  6. Not my cup of JD on the rocks at all! You can see though that the market for the cars is 100% Euro hatch. I think they've gone the "let's design it for the Euro market, and if it sells anywhere else, BONUS!" I think it's they're way of trying to up sales, and targeting the hot hatch of Europe has proven a gold mine for most car makers. Subura have so far been more of a "niche" brand, and never really mass sales like Toyota, Ford, GM, Nissan etc. As far as the STI goes though, I can picture half of Englands hoodlums tearing up the streets in them. For some reason i get flashbacks of the Ali G movie and the hatcgbacks in that :-)
  7. There's people out there who mod, Ferrari's, Porches and Lambos in increasing numbers, so why would the GTR be any different. If you have 150k to drop on a GTR, then you have the $$'s for mods. Wheels shouldn't be a problem as RAYS make many 19",20" inch wheels already.
  8. yep, my 05 does it. I've also read that it's 05 and later only. It's quite good when down shifting from higher revs, but a bit jolty when you down shift under 3500rpm (usually 3rd to 2nd). Sound wise it sounds like a manual car.
  9. Well put guys. Been reading alot of forums on this car, and really sick to death of people saying weight is too high. Too high for what?? The cars performance stats (if real) suggest that weight doesn't hinder it on any level what so ever. As for no new technology, compared to what. Nothing new compared to a $500k lambo maybe, but a hell of a lot new compared to $150k car in almost any category. I've said it before, I can understand people knocking the looks, but people knocking it's performance, weigth etc without driving the car, really need to get a grip.
  10. Well, apparantly it's not all over yet?? http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,,22626182-23770,00.html
  11. Well, didn't really want Ferrari to win, but a win for Kimi is a win for Alonso. Anything as long as LH didn't take it out.
  12. Hey mate, try and get someone who knows the cars rather than a standard inspection company. When I was buying my first R33 (almost 9 years ago now), I had a so called NRMA expert spend a whole day going over a 33 I was interetsed in. At the end of the inspection I got a report which graded the car in A1 condition apart from a few paint blemishes on the body. That same day after laying down a deposit I get a call from the seller, saying the car is running on 5 cylinders and that they would need 2 months to fix this and other issues (under warranty). They were quite cool and gave me back my deposit, but moral of the story is I would never trust a so called expert. There are a fair few expert Skyline workshops who I would go too instead. Just my 2c
  13. No Drama's these are the wheels I'm waiting on. 19" of Volk goodness
  14. exactly the 350Z after market support is MASSIVE. There are more 350z/G35 drivers in the US than there are skyline drivers in Aus. Because of their price there not that popular here and a little more exclusive. Twin turbo kits, single kits, supercharger kits, stroker kits, suspension galore and every other after market part you could think of. As for the GTR, I'm happy to bet a cool $100 that every major tuning house in Japan will have a GTR on their stand come TAS in Jan 2008. There will literally be a stampede to develop after market parts for the car. So you can count on HKS, MINES, TRUST, TOP SECRET and the rest to have parts ready to go pretty much instantly
  15. And this is based on ???????? Obviously they've gone for a more plush interior to appeal to a wider market, but how do you know it's a money grabbing excercise. It's ALOT of car for the price. Working for J-spec you should know how much the R34 GTR was when forst imported, so personally I think (on paper) it's a great car for the money. To date - performance figures and spec are mostly speculation, yet people are bagging it before a single review of the car. The R32 became a cult car, it wasn't a cult car before hit production. The R34 shape was by in large labelled as hidious before it was released, yet most (including me) would sacrifice a nut or both for an R34 GTR. I don't mind comments on appearance but those bagging performance need to maybe know what that perforamce is first. Give it time people. Or did I miss the test day where SAU was invited to take it for a spin?
  16. Hey Guys, Pretty interetested in entering, but I'm waiting on my wheels from Japan. Should be here late Nov but not sure. I'll keep and eye on the thread and if there here in time and I can still enter I'll take it from there. That's if you want a V35 in. (cause there not really skylines :-) )
  17. Love your style Baron. If you could choose anyone in the world to be your mate, he would easily be in your top 5.

  19. my bad - the steam building in my head pushed out some memory. I still think though, whether valid or not, the only reason they are doing this is to put pressure on Mac, and force mistakes leading to Mac not winning anything this year. The reason is pretty simple Ferrari = billions in revenue for the FIA. Imagine a season where Ferrari's golden boy is no longer there(schuey), and on top of that they fail to win anything. There will be hordes of bandwagon fans who jumped on the Schuey thing turn away from the sport. This equals lost revenue. How do the FIA fix this? Simple, hand Ferrari a constructors championship, and then do everything to destabilise it's nearest rival in order to get them a drivers championship as well. This way, Ferrari has it's new hero driver (Kimi) and all is well for at least another season.
  20. Mark, The point I was trying to make is that the FIA have no businees trying to enforce something that they have NEVER before made an issue with any team. In all honesty I couldn't give a crap what RD says. If he says that there is no parity for his drivers and that he prefers LH to win, should the FIA ensure that he delivers on this? Like I said, my comments were aimed at the FIA, i simply used Schuey as an example cause as you said, no driver in his team was ever on par with him, yes in skill, but also in treatment from Ferrari. So it's a bit hard to swallow the FIA jumping on their high horse and demanding that Mac treat both their drivers equally. I see it as nothing but another nail their trying to drive into the Mac team to ensure they walk away with nothing this year.
  21. Was watching the news last night, and saw an interview with Jackie Stewart in which he said that he's pi$$ed becuase the FIA have said that they're going to keep an extra close eye on the Mac team to ensure both drivers are treated equally. (i think someones already posted about it) If this is true and they are doing this, then this is by far the most ridiculous turn of events I have ever seen in motor racing. FFS when Schuey was around, Barichello would be forced to slow down for Schuey, get out of Schuey's way, clear debri for Schuey, scratch Schuey's nuts, and possibly blow him before each race, an no one blinks an eye. The good thing is that at least we all know where the FIA stands and that it is preppared to put any amount of pressure on rival teams to ensure it gets the result it wants. Ideal outcome, LH - spins out on first lap taking out KR leaving Alonso to cruise to victory with a grin so big it stretches his helemt. Reason Can't stand LH and the goody 2 shoes attitude. He comes across as the most coniving smug brat i have seen in a long long time. The FIA has done everything it can to screw Alonso of the title this year, and give it to Ferrari so nothing personal to Kimi, but Spin City is my wish for you.
  22. Sorry for the delayed reply. With my Autowatch I use a seperate FOB to operate the autowatch and the Nissan key for the standard factory stuff. Both work fine with and without each other, but no not intergrated on the Nissan Key. I also got anti-carjack feature fitted which is quite good. If the door is opened while driving, it gives you 30-60secs to de-activate the carjack feature and if you don't shuts the car down. Good because if it happens, the fu(kers think they've got away, only to realise down the road their screwed, which gives you time to grabs the nearest pole and catch them, or call for help.
  23. Exactly. I normally can't stand it, but I think it looks quite good on the black one above. It's the design of the bar as well though. All the little cut outs and different lines mean it's quite hard to get a clean look from it no matter if it's an orginal or copy. It looks messy, but the black hides some of lines.
  24. Jack - Stunning. This is one of my favs - a UK car. Has the interior retrimmed in leather as well. I think similar to the m-spec R34 leather set up. It's one of a few that I think the 400r bar actually looks good on.
  25. Now that the new GTR is no more speculation, and just a matter of weeks away, I wonder if the Nissan Super GT teams will bring it back to racing and dump the Z? They were really quick to dump the R and pick up the Z when the R stopped production so fingers crossed the same goes this time round and they bring it back to racing. Anyone heard anything R35 GTR in Xanavi Nismo colour = drooooooool
