  1. Hey mate, Definately not the same. There is much less room in the wheel wells (rear especially) in the sedan. Check out G35Driver.com, in teh sedan section. Plenty of guys have gone aftermarket wheels and there are plenty of pics of different offsets to see what you like. From memory, a lot of sedan guys like stock coupe wheels cause they give a nice aggressive look. The stock coupe offset is in the +30's where as most aftermarket coupe wheels look best with offsets in the low +20's. Cheers Bobby
  2. Man, I missed the last Autosalon cause the V35 wasn't here yet, and now the track day. Sorry guys would have loved to be a part of this one, but it's track day for me.
  3. Guys, Have any of you gotten pricing on shipping costs for parts like front bars and side skirts? Cheers Bobby
  4. But isn't one of the GTR's strong points it's speed out of corners and grip through corners? Being a small track would generally mean that top speed is taken out of equation, and grip and acceleration out of corners become what makes a car quick there. With this logic you would say that the GTR should do damn well.
  5. How is this for a score. I recently bought a set of 19" inch Rays SF Challenge off a vendor on another forum from Yahoo JP. The wheels were auctioned with a set of B'Stones S-03's. When they got here I get a call saying they came with no tyres. The guy says he'll see what he has when I go and pick them up or I can have some $$'s off the price. I get there and you should have seen the smile on my face when he hands over a set Michellin pilot sport, PS2's wit 95% tread. These are OEM on Zonda's and in 275/35/19 push $900 a corner (so I've been told). Full credit to the vendor, as he didn't have to do this but wanted too. These are the best tyres by far that i have ever driven on. Dry Grip 10 (V35 struggles to break traction on a warm day) Wet Grip 8-9 Ride - very silent and very smooth
  6. I think the key thing is to aim small initially. It's hard to look at clubs like that and not start aiming for our own track in the middle of the CBD :-)
  7. Yep :-) The pics they've attached are from ages ago, but the article is quite good in that it backs up what others are saying and that is that, bringing one in aint as easy as what people may think.
  8. A nice read from Prestige which supports what others have said http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul....php?storyid=21

    I'm In Denial!

C'mon West, you mean the inline L26 carby from my old skyline C210 is better than the V6 from my V35? You were complaining about the R35 GTR being a V6 so I was comparing the inline 6's you listed to the R35 V6. You can't compare a stock Z with a stock GTR RB26. One has two snails and one has none. If you look at the APS twin turbo set up for the Z it pretty much is what you would expect a stock twin turbo Z out of Nissan to look like. Now compare that with a "Stock" RB26DETT. A VQ with stock internals with this set up gives you a safe 380odd hp at the wheels on around 8psi. All this in a set up with almost zero lag. Guess i'm a little biased driving a "V" and all. But in all seriousness it's the way cars are going like it or not. Even the M3 is no longer an inline 6 and that motor was pure performance.

    I'm In Denial!

Whats so "GAY" about an engine that is years ahead of all those you've mentioned and in stock form leaves all those you mentioned for dead? So i suppose an F1 "V"10/8 is gay, or the "V" engines in otehr supercars are gay? I can understand people bagging the styling, interior etc, but seriously how you can bag the R35 on performance is beyond me - weight included.
  11. Given all the cars going missing from "The Shire" wouldn't that make it the crappy suburb? Good luck finding the car, they seriously need to legalise chopping off nuts for car theives!
  12. Hey mate, which kit did you use? There's a few discussions in the US about certain kits being terrible.
  13. Not much to update, but found the TSB for the clicking rear wheels.. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/TSB_04-065_..._From_Rear_Axle I am going to attempt to do the work myself, as it doesn't really look like brain surgery. I have the workshop manuals on my PC at home, so will contact Nissan for prices on parts and take it from there. Hopefully should get to it the comming weeks. I kind of logically conlcuded that Saftey Recalls and TSB's are in my mind two different things, and I think trying to get Nissan Australia to honour a TSB for a car they never brought in would be impossible at best, and trying to get the compliance place to do it would be even less of a chance than Nissan.
  14. Nah, I did to! Good one Nick
  15. Had a chat to him a little while ago, about swirl removal on my V35. He came out and seemed very good, but was also very pricey for me. The quote was over $300 just for swirl removal. I have alot of Zaino stuff and was going to do all the washing, polishing/sealing myself, and he was going to remove the swirls.
  16. wtf - what happened?

  18. You can find some great deals on Yahoo Japan. The wheels are not that expensive. I was looking for around a month or so for my V35 and in the end got Rays SF Challenge F 19x8.5 R 19x9.5 With virtually brand new Michellin Pilot PS2's delivered to Sydney for $3000. Second hand, but can bareley notice a mark on them. The tyres alone would be over $1.5k here
  19. Are you getting another Lip instead? If yes let me know I might be interetsed in swapping mine as well, and we might get a better deal buying two. Chris is in QLD so may not be the best person to source for you.
  20. It's kinda of a double edged sword. If you can get the "grey" import cheaper than your intial investment is less, however if they were only sold by Nissan then the prestige and mystique would hang around much longer and in turn, as you said, keep the value up. For most people grey imports is the better bet as it means once they drop in price they would be accessible to more people.
  21. Hey Spikey, You selling the car or the lip? The front lip should be made from plastic which would make it quite hard to repair I think. I've got a split in mine as well, but it's completely under the car and not noticeable at all.
