Vt Ss Ls1 - Who Has Driven One, Who Owns One?
NISMO replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Nah it was bone stock. I'm the opposite. I have never driven one with suspension mods so can't comment on that. Going from an R33 I just didn't like the way they turned at all. Like I said there was nothing "wrong" with the car, they're not a bad car at all, but for a family car with a bit of power I would definitely go a different route if I was to do it again. -
Vt Ss Ls1 - Who Has Driven One, Who Owns One?
NISMO replied to CEF11E's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I had a VX SS a few years back for the exact same reasons as you've stated. Personally i would never buy one again. Nothing was actually wrong with the car, just not my cup of tea. I had a 78 Skyline C210 which felt better through corners than the SS did. Mine was a Black 6Sp, and yes plenty of grunt and a nice sounding engine, however the interior left a lot to be desired in terms of build quality. At the time I was tossing up between the SS and an R34 sedan. I went the SS to get away from imports from a while and because I always wanted an 8, but regretted the decision within a few months. In the end I had the car for a little over a year before I sold it. Personally I would go for a nice 6 as theses would feel just as quick in general driving given how heavy the SS's are. -
Definately look up one of the traders who source rims from Jap. Prices are quite decent and you get a good quality wheel, most times you will score a decent set of tyres as well. But if you're after the showy wheel and not too fussed with quality/functionality then agree, Ozzy and Tempe are the go.

Hey Mate, Any idea if these will work on a V35? I keep hearing that V35 uses CAN and that a few people have trouble using general Nissan consult tools. (in saying that i have no idea what the above is) Cheers

Why Do People Remove The Rear Spoilers Of Gtr's?
NISMO replied to menace's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Screw the wing debate, I for the life of me can't understand why people come on a forum dedicated to the cars they are bagging out and hang around and post crap. So removing stuff is a "ricer" modification is it? What would you call all the SICK VL's with chopped springs and "COP" wheels - D!ckhead modification? Or all the tools with the "altezza" morano style lights on every Crapadoore from the VK to the current "M5 beating - hahahahahahah, billion dollar baby? As for a road car not a racing car, the amount of knobjockeys in a V8 Commonwhore who take off the exhaust just after the cats to get that "Supercar sound" is fu(king ridiculous. Would you like me to go on? Cause you can bet your a$$ that the list of bogan mods is far worse than what you call "ricer" mods! -
Yep sounds like an offset issue more than anything else. 225's sound very very small for a 20inch wheel. I've got 19's on my V35 and have 245 up front on an 8.5 wide wheel, and 275 at the back on 9.5 wide wheel.

Common Problems With The Coupe
NISMO replied to T88turbo's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Yep, it's a known fault on the rear axle. Usually on the right side of the car. -
Unless Brembo's from a GTR are much cheaper, why wouldn't you get a set from a 350Z? I would imagine that with the cars running almost identical running gear that the 350Z set would be much easier to get up an drunning. I was looking into a set of 4 piston callipers from an R34 GTT, but another member with a V35 had a look and there was a bit of fabrication needed.

hey mate, The NISMO came with the V35 I now have. The Tein's I ordered from G35Driver.com. Sorry should have been clearer. The Teins were $350
-
Yep i had 350z Tein H-techs on my old V35 and had no probs fitting them at all. The only thing was that they were just nt as firm as i would have liked. I know have Nismo springs and shocks in my current 35 and it is miles ahead in terms of cornering. The ride is slightly harsher but nothing that would I class as annoying. I paid around $350 US shipped to my door, from the US.

Hey Scathing, Yeah completely agree both about the lap time and the intake. Not saying it's untrue, just would like to see both in person. Cheers Bobby
-
Well thats the thing, he has dyno graphs on the same day at the same temp apparently all on the same set up. But still, until i see it on at least 1 other car if not more then I'm a non believer.
-
Agree with what has been said about the intake, however have you guys seen how restrictive the intake pipe on the V35 is (after the filter) compared to the Z? I'm doing a bit of guessing but could this be one of the contributors to the power diff between the V and Z? Here's a pic of a stillen copy of the Z tube compared to a stock V35 intake tube. On my auto V35 coupe I changed the intake to the full HKS system and the bum dyno reckons I gained a bit but more so it sounded awesome. On my manual I'm planning on changing the intake tube for the Z one (found one for $20) and just the filter. Now, you also have guys who have recorded some big gains with a revised tuned intake. There's a member on 350z-tech.com in the Australian section who claims to have achieved (i think) 10-15kw gain with a tuned intake and revised airbox. There's a lot of skepticism but there are also a few who have signed up for one. If i see the same results duplicated on other cars, then i'll be buying one for sure.

No need to dude, there are certain suburbs in Sydney where Pink is the colour of choice. Pink rexy's, pink RX7's, GTST's you name it and they have it in pink But damn that fu(ker looks huge. mmmmmmm a big boned GTR

thanks cookie and others, The G35 manual says D2R. I found a set in the US used, which have been tested in perfect working order which will be around $100 delivered. I might go for these. took out the lights today and unfortunately the wires were cut, but there is enough there to solder new wires on, so this may be the go. On the other hand if I can find a set of 06 lights with everything but the ballast then I'll grab those and attach my ballast which means I'll get projectors as well. Cheers Bobby

Hey Guys, One of the downsides to swapping my 05 auto for the 04 manual was that the manual had the xenon's removed. I'm going to get them going again, but can someone please let me know what bulbs I need for the xenon's? Also my fogs are only running high beam and no fogs. I've opened the stalk and all seems in tact. Could it be that the bulb was changed from a dual fog/highbeam bulb to just a highbeam bulb without cutting any wires in the stalk? Can someone also please post the bulbs I will need for the dual fog/highbeam bulb? I did a search but couldn't find the specific bulb specs. Thanks guys Bobby

God bless google! Here is some info from the linked site. Will read the doc over Xmas and take it from there. Looks promising, however my RAWS is in QLD and I'm in NSW. But must read more first! http://dynamic.dotars.gov.au/recalls/CodeO...03/contents.htm RESPONSIBILITY FOR ACTION Individual RAWs are responsible for the investigation and rectification of safety related defects, in accordance with the provisions of this Recall Code. (Note: The Department of Transport and Regional Services is prepared to offer advice to suppliers on the investigation and rectification of safety related defects, however it bears no responsibility for performing these actions on affected products). A RAW is responsible for the rectification of any safety related defect in a vehicle supplied to the market by the RAW. This applies whether the defect is detected before or after supplying the vehicle to the market or fitting a Used Import Plate. Any recall campaign of the vehicle model that is conducted in an overseas market should be subject to Safety Investigation by the RAW.

Yep, good point, forgot about the Complaince shop. I doubt you'd have any luck though as how would a complaince shop charge Nissan? I think it's more a "known issues that Nissan will fix free should they pop up" I think recall is more, "bring your car in needs to be fixed" To me anyway :-) Some people won't have the issue pop up at all, while others can have the same prob come back.
-
Cheers Unique, You're above quote was my logic for even considering it. The problem is that there will more than likely be a varied response amongst dealers, so I may need to keep trying till I get one. I know a Z owner who had the same issue, and his service department at a NIssan Delearship didn't even know what a TSB was. I'm going to send a mail to Nissan Australia and get their view. If they say yes i can do it, at least I'll have that to go to a delaership with. Cheers Bobby

Hey guys, Has anyone with a V35 tried to have a known fault advised with a TSB (Technicall Service Bulletin) fixed by an Aussie Nissan dealer? My 04 has the rear axle clicking noise which Nissan fix for free on local Z's and the G's and Z's in the US. http://www.350z-tech.com/zwiki/TSB_04-065_..._From_Rear_Axle This is the Z Bulletin, and there's one for the G35 which I can't find at atm. Is it worth trying Nissan, or should I get my mechanic to do the work? Cheers Bobby

Going through this choice now myself as well. I'm leaning towards the tomtom go 910. All the features of the other brands, plus an Ipod interface. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/TomTom-Go-910-Seale...1QQcmdZViewItem

"One of the problems with Australian motorsport is a lack of a showcase for this type of vehicle [GT-R]. The organisers of V8 Supercars wouldn’t let us race in 1993 and I can guarantee they’re not going to let us race in 2008. It’s not a taxi as you know." Fight Fight Fight Fight
