  1. NISMO

    98 Ron

don't know if there's any left, but filled up on Fri night with Shell V-power racing on Copwpasture road, green valley.
  2. Yep I've got sqeaks on my drivers seat. back left or around the seat controls.
  3. Yep, I feel wrong even considering a "Silvia" when I've been a Skyline fan for years. But at the end of day it will be more fun (not as worried about breaking stuff), and easier on the hip pocket.
  4. Thanks Dave, That S13 had plates if I remember correctly. Does it have normal rego? Cheers
  5. Exactly, I was exploring the idea of bringing in a track only car rather than mucking around with the V35. Nice neat stocker, strip completely, decent suspension and tyres and away i go. I really want to give it a good crack this year, and am thinking why risk the V35 when in all honesty it would be cheaper to just get a track only car. Am thinking along the S13 lines or even an R32.
  6. Hey Guys, Great to meet you all. Had a great day! The car held up really nicely throughout the day and man was i impressed when Craig jumped in and gave it a couple of laps. Being a new car I was pretty hesitant with it all day, but after the Craig laps, managed to knock off 4 seconds a lap and keep it off consistantly. The amount of speed he had through the sections compared to me was amazing. down the back straight he was travelling at around 30km/h faster than i was and we were both breaking in the same spot. End of the day I only managed a 1:22 but speaking with Craig he believes it should be good for 1:15's. That's my goal! Hey Liz, don't worry about the people complaining. I didn't mind cause now i had a racing line to follow :-) James - congrats on hitting the time you wanted. Chris - that sucks. Any idea what it was yet? Michelle, I sent you a PM with some contact details to try and get a hold of Jacky.
  7. Can i come,? Can I, can I
  8. Some great pics there. Personally I'm going a completely different route than the above. As much as i love great sound, my mission with this car is something that i can take to the track every couple of months and have one hell of a time without worrying about breaking things. At the moment the car has full NISMO suspension (Shocks, springs, sways) I have lightweight wheels, but going lighter with TE37's. Next step will be track only pads, swapped in for the day, and semi's on the stock 18" wheels. I'll see how the clucth holds up and update if needed. Engine wise it will stay pretty standard at this stage, unless i crack and go supercharged :-) I have a Fuji exhaust, and will be looking to get extractors and high flow cats down the line. I've been looking into a reflash of the CPU but haven't decided on it. I've found a US company that has the Jap V35 software and will tune to Aussie fuel and the air/fuel ratios of my car (from a dyno read out) Some decent cars with decent drivers are doing Wakefield in under 1:13 which is what I'm aiming for. That's it at this stage - not going for the quickest track car in the country, but something that can keep pace with some of the turbo boys :-)
  9. Yep, apparantly they have tailored sound to pic up engine noise better. In all honesty, the mounts are the impressive parts and the adaptors to connect to things like helmets. Once I get some time, I'm gonna try and rig up a better camera to the mounting system, and use this one more for shots from the front bumper if they let me. Wakefield were pretty hesitant to allow it, but the shop I bought it from gave them a call an explained what it is. Apparantly Wakie do not want to allow any suction type mounts at all.
  10. Hey Steve Sure will. I've seen some examples on youtube but until I take my own footage I have no idea if they have edited the quality. The youtube stuff looks great. And this thing is bloody tiny. Here's a vid from Bathurst drive day
  11. If you're worried about them bring em along. Nothing like getting half a lap in and then having to stop. I've got a similar dilema - do I keep my 19's on which have Michelin Pilot PS2's or change back to 18's stockies with Khumo's and Federal's? The Michelin's are the grippiest street tyre I have ever driven on but they're also around $900 a corner!
  12. Hey Mate, word from a few people is taht all servo's on the way down are out of 98 and have been for 2 weeks. There is 103 available at the track now, but no idea how much. I'm thinking of taking down a couple of jerry cans, but will decide tonight. On a side note, I pick up my Go Pro Motorsport Hero last night. Woo Hoo! Can't wait to test it out. http://www.goprocamera.com/index5.htm If anyone has an SD memory card, happy to share the Go Pro love if you want to bring it along. The camera can only take up to 2GB SD cards and you get about 60mins of footage on 2 gig. You can also set it to take photo's at 5 sec intervals as you're going around. Cheers Bobby
  13. haha - Baron dwells in fringe's. What the f**k do they think they're going to do? Threaten importers? Bust some caps in some a$$es? They can get all the intelligence they like but at the end of the day, as long as those importing are doing so legally, there will always be people such as those on these forums who can see the potential benifit in importing privately. Personally if i had the money to consider an R35 I would go with Nissan Aus every day of the week. But others won't so again, what are they going to do about it?
  14. Cool, let me know how you go. You can definately adjust the beam, but I'm pretty sure you can't adjust the actual pattern. The shape is made like it is on all cars so you can easily see pedestrians on the footpath (hence the higher beam on our left) without annoying on coming traffic. I think Frank has these and has had problems with oncoming traffic.
  15. If my bulbs are glued in I might have to buy them :-) The prob with the US is that the beams lift higher on our right side as they drive on the right side of the road. This means that your beams are high into on coming traffic and you get little vissibilty of the left side of the road. They are adjustable that it will not correct the below. Sorry for the poor drawing. :-) Picture this beam pattern sitting the drivers seat Beam Pattern Aus \_______ Beam pattern US ________/
  16. I'm around teh corner, so will be there 1/4 to 6 at the latest.
  17. We need to be there before 8am to sign on, according to autosports. Faark me, does that mean leave at 5.30ish? 2 hours or so to get down, stop for fuel etc without rushing?
  18. Last time for the SAU event we met in the parking lot of Bunnings at Crossroads. (just off the highway) Otherwise, is that servo still there after the cross roads on the left before you get on the freeway towards Campbeltown (I've put the points on the map below) http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&amp...065832&z=14
  19. Profits = greed = sh!t fights over car forums! So much for doing something "for the community"
  20. Sewid, are you saying that it will be added to the list by the end of the month and any workshop can start it's evidence process?
  21. It all depends on the offsets. I've seen GTR offsets in the low teens. Something like this may not fit unless you do some serious guard rolling. Being 18" the diameter will more than likely be fine, as I've seen V35's go to 11inch wide without too much drama. The offset is really your only issue. If they are in the low 20's, high teens then you may be right. As an example a +22 offset is almost perfect for a V35.
  22. Keep us updated mate. I've just ordered my ignitors from the US to revert mine back as well. All my parts are there except they cut the ignitors off, so I've re-ordered them. The only problem though is i think the fu(kers have put some sort of glue there to hold the bulbs they put in. I'll pull it apart once the ignitors get here and see how I go. Does anyone know if you can get cheap headlights out of Japan like out of the US. All I'll need is the body, no ballast etc. I would use a set from the US however as has been mentioned the beam pattern suits driving on the opposite side of the road.
  23. Nope, that button actually tilts the mirrors down when you put it in reverse. I have it on my car and it's great to make sure I don't scratch the Rays when parking. When you finish reversing and put it back into first, they level up again. I love it!
  24. :-) just note it in a message on your phone. I'm not normally that anal about these things, but my auto coupe had the Nav system which showed fuel consumption etc, and the manual I have now doesn't. The guage on the manual was telling a very different story to what the auto trip computer was showing so I wanted to check for myself. Also if my guage ever fails I know how far i can go :-)
  25. I've done a proper calculation a few times now. method was fill up car, reset km's. At the next fill up note, how many k's passed and how many litres i put in to get me to full. results are 1) 441km - 53L = 599km's per tank 2) 442km - 51L = 624km's per tank 3) 444km - 54L = 592km's per tank 4) 410km - 50L = 590km's per tank Based on the above, if the tank size is 72L (pretty sure) I'm getting approx 600km's per tank. (e.g 441/53*72) If the tank size is more, I get more k's. And thats bumper to bumper Sydney traffic 5 days a week, 1.5hrs each way each day. Don't look at when the light goes on to fill up or when your needle hits a quarter etc, as these cars and 350z's are notorious for the fuel guage showing crap. Try the above, gives you a real idea of how many k's you're getting.
