  1. Man this thing is nice. Anyone on here? http://www.my105.com/classified.asp?id=8810
  2. here's one thats not bad
  3. Hey Graeme, Yep I would agree, and am getting pretty much the same. When i had the auto i drove from Sydney to Canberra, reset the fuel computer and it said on a full tank i would get 800 and something, so your comment is spot on.
  4. Man if only you had a slightly less modded GTR. I'm looking to swap my V35 for an R32 but unfortunately not looking to spend as much. Good luck, that's one seriously nice car you have.
  5. Some really good points. My view is that a few d!ckheads with imports have ruined it for everyone else. End of story. Number one on my blame list are the ram raiders of a few years back with the rexy's. This started the bad image that turbo cars in general received. On top of this, as much as it might be hard to swallow for some, there are more than a few Skyline, RX7, WRX etc etc drivers out there that act like absolute wankers on the road. With our cars the vast majority on the street are owned by younger more reckless drivers (yep i said it ). In my eyes younger drivers do more "hooning" than older drivers. So unfotunately you get a higher % of import owners that are wankers compared to other cars. Commodores for example are a much more popular car on our roads. The average age of a Commodore driver is much higher than a "Skyline" driver. So using again that younger drivers take more risks, as a percentage of drivers acting like d!ckwads our cars stand out. Hence the attention. I bought my first R33 approx 8-9 years ago. Back then the cars were rare as and attracted abosulety NO attention from the police. The only time I was ever pulled over was when an officer wanted to chat and check out the car. That was with front mount, BOV, Pod etc etc. And i owned the car as a daily for over 4 years. Back then the cars of choice for "hoons" were RX7's RX4's RX3's VL's etc etc so all of these got the attention. So back to my first point. Don't blame the police or the media, it all comes down to a few wankers who ruin it for the rest. And the fact that these are now the cars of choice for younger drivers. Disclaimer - I completely understand that there are circumstances that fall out of the above generalisation
  6. Sorry mate, I've got to completely disagree with this. Generally larger tires mean wider tires. Also your sidewall becomes smaller in most cases to compensate for the increae in wheel diamater. A smaller sidewall is usually stiffer, and the lessened amoutn of flex helps the car corner. If you mean by handling that it's a bumpier/harsher ride then yes, I would agree, but if you took the same car with the same rubber and ran it with 16 inch wheels and then 19 inch wheels with the correct tire sizes for both, the bigger wheel would out handle the smaller wheel. With more tread on the ground you also get the benifit of better traction out of corners. An example is the R35 GTR, and a lot of newer supercars as well are starting to use 20 inch wheels.
  7. Good stuff Gary, make sure you keep us updated once the build gets underway.
  8. Completely agree and really have no problem with the above. However once the product is developed (which it has been for a while) do you agree with the fact that they still continue to charge double for what is essentially the same kit except for I suppose the manifold? I know in general we pay more here in Australia due to our scale. As I've said I have spoken to them and they have advised that they weren't really interested in the V35's coming from Japan. However I still think that if they looked at the price of current FM cars and priced their products a little more realistically, they would make a fair few TT sales. Just my opinion and if I ever went with forced induction, i would not even entertain the idea of using APS, for no other reason than the fact their kits are around double the price of most foreign kits.
  9. Gary, Have you sourced a car yet? if yes what stage are you guys up to and what's the plan for the car?
  10. PEI, Not necessarily mate. The are alot of tuners who have experience with HKS products in australia. Yes you do need the extra's you've mentioned but they would not total near the APS kit. You also have the freedom to pick certain parts. as an expample, instead of paying $1500 for a a brand new "name' cooler, you could go with a second hand one. Parts like injectors and fuel pump can be picked up much cheaper for our cars from the US. The other option you have is to get a custom instal, through a workshop. The thing that gets me about APS is that in the US the full kit is about $7500 USD. Yet here we have to pay double. Why, do the gold plate the turbo's for Aussie customers? If they charged the same price instead of trying to rip people off, they would have an army of Z customers at their door.
  11. Thanks Rezz, What about some of the other things they're saying on HP and Weight. Have you heard any different? Although carbon doors would be great, not sure how many cashed up old dudes would go for them if they're a different colour to the body.
  12. An update from US Road and Track mag. Can't decide if the pic is a chop, but man it looks nice. http://www.roadandtrack.com/article.asp?se...article_id=6754
  13. Hey mate, APS Australia will not help you with a kit for your 350GT. They are only interested in the 350Z. Well that was the case when I spoke to them. In saying that, i think the full kit is upwards of $15k. If you go for a US kit you need to make sure that the manifold will fit on the Jap 350GT as remember there are things like steering equipment on the opposite sides of the cars. Personally if budget was not a problem I'd go with the HKS Supercharger. The gains aren't massive but i have heard it's a great kit.
  14. Hey mate, The TE37's I'm pretty sure are +22 all the way around. It will give it a nicer look, but nothing drastic as at the end of the day you're talking mm's here. +24 v's +22 is 2 mm difference at the front. Cheers Bobby
  15. Nice Spikey. The diffuser looks awesome. I really want one for my car, but with a black car i think it won't stand out enough. How confident are you that the brake callipers would fit? Someone had a look at it ages ago when i had my auto and it was pretty much decided that you would need custom mounting brackets. Have you seen it done? Cheers Bobby
  16. It Shouldn't mate. Usually the mounts on aftermarket bumpers should be the same. The above was for a coupe as well. Not sure if it's the same on a sedan.
  17. Hi Julian, There are 2 ways you can do it. 1. Take off the front wheels, take off the guards behind the wheels and this gives you access to the bulbs. 2. Take off the front bumper, unscrew the lights and there you have it. There are tutorials on G35Driver, but it'll pretty much say the above in a little more detail :-) I use method 2 simply cause I have taken off the bumper that many times that I can now get the lights out in under 10 minutes. There approx 7/8 screws under the front of the bumper which are a phillips head or 10mm socket. Next put your hand in and undo the side blinkers Above the blinkers there are 2 phillips head screws on each side Undo the push down fasteners at the top of the grill (Open the bonnet to get access) And it's off. The lights are another 4 screws on each one. It does sound long but for me it means the lights are out, in my hands and easy to access any part of them. Hope that helps. Bobby
  18. I thinks it's there was nothing over inspiring about the models they had. From memory they were a bit more expensive than the equivalent competition as well. It was marketed as a luxury brand like Lexus is, but it just never took off.
  19. You right that yourself?
  20. Hey Waz, on the street just general traffic all breaks will pretty much work the same. In hotter weather I do notice that the Brembo's are much more consistent. Sometimes I sit in traffic for over an hour and in summer it is slightly noticeable. But in a hard breaking situation on the street I would have to say that I would have more confidence in the Brembo's for no other reason than the fact that they held up much better at the track.
  21. No probs. If you ask me, i think stock 350z springs will give you little difference and may not be worth it. On my last V35 I used Tein 350Z H-techs. The drop was quite small and the ride was still very very comfy. You can even use G35 H-techs. Tein designed these for a little drop, a lot of comfort, and i believe they were a progressive rated spring which gives you that added stability in hard cornering.
  22. Guys I don't think anyone is saying that there hasn't been a lot of work put into the car, or that the car is not a great example of an R33 GTS25T. Personally i am simply extremely curious as to whether the car is a genuine Nissan/Nismo prototype. For no other reason other than the fact that I'm a massive Skyline fanboy and want to know everything I can about the cars. I can also see why people are having a go at him, as if it's it not a proto anything and just a car with some badges and stickers, then that's like me buying an R33 GTR, throwing on some stickers, badges a bodykit, upping the power and calling it a 400R. Or doing the same with an R34 calling it a Z-Tune
  23. DIRT, He's pretty much said that the car in no way is any sort of special/limited/proto edition from Nissan/Nismo or anyone else. But more his vision of what such a car would have been. And agree as nice as the car is, to come on here and in magazines and claim that it is something that it isn't is very disapointing.
  24. Thanks Malcolm, Agree it's a clean car and can now see what you mean. The car is your vision of what it would be but it is not a Nissan prototype, not a NISMO prototype.
  25. Well said Roy, Please put in a disclaimer about the Aussie GP2 team though :-)
