  1. Hey Peter, Welcome mate. The headlights have an auto setting so when you go through a tunnel or it gets dark they switch on by themselves. They also turn off when you switch the car off, if on the auto setting.
  2. Exactly! I've said it time and time again, that anyone who thinks someone in japan buys a Nissan to wrap in cotton wool and park in the garage to only travel 20km's a year, is kidding themselves. The cars are literally the equivalent of a Commodore here. The above car is also going for higher than most very low km's cars. Why, maybe the auction houses know a true legit car compared to wound back crap?? Think about it, would you waste $700 odd dollars on a new dash if you knew it would fetch you $3000 more at auction? Without logs, the only thing you have is condition.
  3. Where drifting really began Yummmmm Holden Sandwhich
  4. Oh oh http://www.weatherchannel.com.au/Magic94sc...;Function=28Day
  5. Yeah i was thinking that too, but it's a funny place to advertise it, and it doesn't say the other adjusters anywhere either.
  6. Ripped mine off the minute i got the car home. There's no purpose in it. FFS sake, they could have sewn it under the mat. It's like keeping those "100% wool" tags on the sleeve of a suit.
  7. Yep I do, but couldn't see anything either.
  8. I just had a look through J-spec and noticed that really all the cheap coupe's are auto's. Here's an example of a manual with 30000 k's and once you add every import cost plus rego etc, your looking at close to $45k. http://www.j-spec.com.au/list/index.php?ID=12229 If it auto is what your looking for, then this definately seems like the time to buy.
  9. We have agreed to allow for sale ads within the V35 forum while they are a relitively small number. If and when they become too many, I will start moving them to the for sale section. Personally,I think your limiting your audience by posting in here, so keep that in mind.
  10. Thanks Harry, appreciate the info.
  11. The only thing to worry about, is that some US exhausts will not fit Coupes which came out with rear active steering. Exhausts such as the HKS Hi Power for example. How tell if you've got rear active steering? NFI
  12. Hi, I've been thinking more and more lately about getting a dedicated track car. I've been tossing up between a R32 GTR, Gts-t or same with R33's. The plan was to import a car from Japan with a few goodies and then strip it once it gets here. But, lately I've seen a few cars come up such as this one. http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/modul...ID=4628#bigpics Is this a good buy? I'm not planning to get into door to door anytime soon, more looking at super sprints, and something I can just rock up to the track in and not having to worry about driving it home. With cars such as this, will the maintenance costs be massive compared to say a GTR turned into a track only car? I'm not worried about transport as a cousin makes trailers who will basically give me one :-) Any views will be appreciated Cheers Bobby
  13. Mate you get what you pay for. If your aiming for the lowest priced examples of any car, then expect the worst examples of those cars. If you can't afford to look at middle of the range of a specific model then look for something else.
  14. No worries, It was louder coming onto the straight than most people coming past the camera :-)
  15. Here you go Steveo, All i could find tonight. Only just got the dvd. I'll see if there is any more tomorrow arvo. There's only a quick pass at the beginning, and then some smoke shows around the 1:30 mark. Unfotunately not from your tyres though.
  16. Yep black V35 pics would be great
  17. I would get it checked. Pay $500 upfront for check or spend the next 2 years chasing a dealer to repair your only driven for 1 week $30000 car.
  18. Hey Steve, My mate that was there with me got some decent footage i think, but I'm waiting for him to pop it on a disc. Once i get it I'll start posting some vids up. I saw one clip of it definately and it sounded just as good on camera.
  19. yep exactly. It's more important to have the condition of the car checked then to say it has 10000km's so it's a brand new car in great condition. My point was to highlight that alot of people use km's when judging a car, and unfortunately with imports unless there are log books, everyone involved with them will agree that km's are almost always altered. Common sense plays a large part, and people who think that in japan no one drives their cars and they just sit in the garage are kidding themselves. Personally with both my V35's i stayed away from any car which had less than 10000k's per year. Not because i knew they were changed, but because they didn't have log books. Again the V35 is not a super rare sought after car in Japan that someone would buy to sit in the garage. With space costing so much $$'s in Japan you can bet that someone who pays for garage space is going to use the car. And based on this i simply don't believe a 5 year old car would only have 10,20 or even 30 thousand k's. Just my view.
  20. If you can afford it, the absolute best mod is a "bum" lap timer. Made by the same group that released the "bum dyno". I spoke to the company who sells them, and my 1:18 hand timed, should be a very accurate 1:07 on the bum lap timer
  21. The one thing I stress to everyone looking at imports - judge the car for what it is and ignore the km's. On the above that car has travelled approx 4600km a year. Given it's not a super rare or special car in Japan, how many people you know in Australia that buy a Commodore and only travel 5000km's a year in it? Unless it's got log books, I would ignore the k's and look at the condition. Other than is at an auto? It seems like a typical price for an auto, however if manual it would be a fantastic price.
  22. The speed cut defenders are what you're after. Just a colourful Japanese use of English. They will simply do exactly what your after and your cheapest option. Unless you decipher Chris' cryptic message and/or are as talented as him when it comes to electronics.
