hey Mizone, Welcome and bring on the V35 :-) I actually imported one myself earlier this year, and the process is not too bad. The worst part is the waiting, and searching for the car. You definately do save a bit, but now that more cars are coming in, the price is going down so I'm not sure how much more you would actually save. All in all in took me approx 6-7 months from the time I started searching to the time I had the car registered and driving on the road. I dealt with J-spec and can honestly say that the process was very smooth. I've actually now sold this car, and will be flying up to Brisbane next week to hopefully pick up my next one :-). I imported an auto but now want a manual hence the change. To find a V35 specialist to check the car would be close to impossible, so i would post a few questions in the relevant state sections of the forums on who people would recommend to give the car a once over. The NRMA (your RACV) used to do these checks in sydney but no longer do them. Personally I don't really trust them as years and years ago I had an R33 checked through them which they said was in "perfect" conditions which i later found out was running on 5 cylinders instead of 6. There should be no problem to drive it down as these are relatively new cars, and unless it has been absolutely slaughtered by a previous owner you shouldn't have any probs. I'll get back to you in a week or so and let you know how I went in Qld (I'm from Syd), but I imagine that all should be well. fingers crossed anyway. Cheers Bobby

Yep, that what's I thought. I've got some close up pics of the interior and can't seem to see anything that stands out as being cruise control. Guess I'll see when I get up to have a look at it. Cheers Bobby

Well, the decision was made for me. The gentleman looking at the car fell in love with it instantly and has put a deposit down. He's a doctor at some research facility, and didn't hesitate. Just like every other time I agreed to sell it (3 times now ) I've got mixed feelings again :-) But, I've just agreed to buy this puppy which if all goes well I should have in my hands late next week. Of course it's a manual, has Brembo's, leather, sunroof, owner says cruise control (haven't seen it in the pics), 18's, Nismo factory upgraded suspension, and an aftermarket exhaust. My Volk SF Challenge should be here early December so can't wait to get them on as well.

M3 Style Lip Spoiler - Installed
NISMO replied to WazR32GTSt's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey Waz, great idea, love those. But the definitely fu9ked it. Worry about the exam first, car second. It's a spoiler, and even if they have to scrape it off the boot lid is re-sprayable. Cheers Bobby -
Rob, your reading my mind. And your absolutely correct in that really the only reason I am thinking of the swap is the transmission. I've never been a fan of auto's and it's the first auto I've bought in 16 yrs. But thought it would be better cause i sit in traffic for around 2 hrs per day. BUT, traffic or no traffic, i see these cars as sports cars, and i really don't think the auto does them justice. Thanks for the opinion. Cheers Bobby

Do a search on this site for GT-c offsets and you'll probably get 100 results. You'll see what most people are running, as these are one of the most common wheels in the US http://g35driver.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=25
-
The back wouldn't be too bad but the front would be quite similar to stock. At the end of the day you can use spacers to push them out a bit, especially if you just cruise around. I wouldn't use spacers on the track though.
-
No no no, Those offset will make the wheels incredibly tucked in the guards. (+29 +37) From what I've seen in the US, depending on wheel sizes, you can have fronts at around +20 and similar for the rears without any fitment issues at all. What wheels are you looking at? If they're Rays and you got them from the Rays site, they play it very very very safe.
-
That's 2 of us Waz. As they only went on sale in Oct, i think we're looking at around 2009 before we see one here.
-
Any idea when funky? I was actually thinking about that. Selling the V35 and stashing the money for the V36, but I don't think I can wait till they start getting here. Especially if it's more than a few months.

The guys who's buying my car sounds quite keen so I might just let him make my mind up for me. If it sells for what i want, then it's a black manual for me, if not I'll be loving my 2005 auto instead. Can't really loose :-)
-
Thanks cookie, The 04 comes with the standard 18's, I currently have 17's. But i have 19" Volk SF Challenge wheels which should arrive from Japan in the next few weeks, so either car will get these wheels and the current set would be spare. The interiors are quite similar but in my opionion the 05 dash is much nicer.

Hey Waz, Thanks for opinion, thats exactly what i'm after. Keep em coming :-) As for the track days, I'd probably do 2 or so a year, and I'm not someone who would kill a car. So I'm not concerned that I'd be ruining the car, as i look after my cars quite a bit. The other thing that has me thinking to do the swap is price. I think in the long run a black manual with Brembo's and Leather and sunroof, will hold much better value than a silver/blue auto with no Brembo's/leather/sunroof. Feature wise, the only thing my 2005 has over the 2004 is the screen.

Hey guys, I'm after some advice. I'm thinking of selling my 2005 V35 auto to buy a 2004 manual. Am i nuts? Pro's 2004 has Brembo 2004 has leather 2004 has sunroof 2004 Black 2004 Nismo suspension 2004 Grade 4.5 car Cons my 2005 nicer interior my 2005 newer model my 2005 sat/tv screen, the 2004 i want doesn't have one my 2005 has 7000 less km my 2005 grade 5A car The buyer interested in my car is a much older guy, sounds in his late 40's, so is not interetsed in any of the mods I have, which means I can take them off and put them on the 2004. Price wise, the cars will cost the same, but I will need to pay rego, onroads etc for the 2004. I'm just not satissfied with an auto, and it's the only thing i regret on my car. Everytime I get happy with having an auto, I see something to do with a track day and want a manual. I'm also considering some immaculate series 3 R33 GTR's, but after having a V35 I don't think I can go to an "older" looking/feeling car. Even if it is a GTR. Would you do it?
-
Hey, Got an 05. If the screen was up when you turned the car off, then it pops up when you turn it back on. However if it was down when you last turned the car off, it stays down. Cheers Bobby

By far the most amusing read of the year! It's ok for lawyers to seal the constructors championship for Ferrari, but if Mac do that then it's "grubby". The more and more this team comments on anything the more they sound like that one friend we all had who had the best toys, but was just a total utter pr!ck. I think it's time for F1 to say to ferrari STFU and GTFO (not that that would ever happen)

Thanks Dude, gotta love that fuijitsubo exhaust, quite as hell when cruising, but nice note when you give it a tap.

Just when you think it's over - BAM! they start again.

Oh, forgot to add, Most places that supply the timber would be able to install as well, or at least point you to someone. It is quite expensive though, more than likely upwards of $50-$60 per sq meter, and thats without prepping like removing the carpet. Also alot of places run slats rather than full sheets of plywood which can cuse the boards to warp over time. (this is only if they're being layed on top of a slab) Ask to see houses they have done previously, and check the gaps between the timbers, as this will tell you who's a quality tradesman and who just bangs it together. Make sure there's not massive amounts of putty between the boards to fill the gaps. Cheers Bobby

Hey mate, It's not too hard to do yourself, if you could be stuffed. I'm on my 4th place now and have done all of them with my old man. A bit of elbow grease is envolved, but the care you take with your own work means it comes up much better than most tradies I've seen. If I could take time off work, I would be happy to do it, but no chance in the near future. If your interested to see how it's done, my place is out Liverpool way, and we'll be working on it this Saturday. Mines on a concrete slab so we've layed (nailed - this is the hardest part) plywood on the slab, and are starting to lay the actual boards this weekend.

Yep, springs are the same, I have 350Z Teins on mine, I don't think the filter will change the sound, it's more the tube running behind it taking in the air. I've got a Fujitsubo exhaust on mine and I quite like the sound. It's quite when cruising, but has a nice sound when WOT. Bit there are heaps of different exhaust which will give you a different sound

What race engine are you referring to? If it's the GT500 from SuperGT, then your probably wrong, cause they have been using a V engine in these for many years in the 350Z and a few seasons in the R34's before that. If it's the GT500 engine from way back when the R34's first came out( In JGTC), then that's a pretty old engine, and I'd still take the VR over it any day.

Jwt Pop Charger + Z-tube - Where To Buy In Oz?
NISMO replied to MoronHater's topic in V Series (V35, V36, V37 & Infiniti)
Hey mate I get most of my stuff through traders on G35Driver.com. For my intake, I've got a HKS Premium Suction kit. The car does breethe better and they sound great, but not sure if you would actually get any notable power gains, if thats what your after. Cheers -
Congrats, Looks like a really clean car. There's some gorgous coupes in that colour over in the US.
-
agree, sorry I meant in my post thay'll be a using a V series engine and not an inline, which I think the OP was getting at.
