  1. Waz, I think the sedans got different designations to the Coupes. I'm pretty sure there's a P collection and S collection, but no idea on the differences.
  2. Saw it a couple of days ago. Abobroad minded personely awesome! But for $80k, you need to have someone who is really devoted to a V35 or has nothing better to do with their money. Especially when in a year or two it'll be just another modded V35, and you'd be struggling to get 40K for it.
  3. Late 2008 = Brilliant, Gives me at least 12 months of whinging to the Finance Minister (wife). And we all know, that endless whinging leads to "Just by the god damn car and STFU" On a serious note, it also means there's a year for the compliance shops to get their sh!t together and start bringing them in before Nissan does, and these will almost definately be cheaper than the local models. Otherwise there will be 0 market for the importers. What's the bet though that the first few get hit with a nice $10k + complaince fee :-)
  4. Exactly. Alot of the latest supercars are now getting around with a DSG so why would they not use one on the GTR. Also, you need to remember that the car is trying to compete with the best in the world, and a well sorted DSG box will out shift most mortals, and it reduces the chance of error, therefore making the average Joe a better driver. I've got a V35 Coupe with the latest Nissan tiptronic, and it's a great gearbox. Yes you can't rev the shit out of it and dump the clutch, but that aside it's a great gearbox. Very crisp shifts, blips the throttle on the downshift and not much delay. Add a valve body upgrade to it, and it would be fantastic. some of Japans race drivers tested the box and were amazed at how good it is. Now, if that's whats in the V35 Coupe, then I have no doubt that a DSG in the new GTR would be absolutely great.
  5. Hey Guys, When you say intergrate is it just the control of the alarm from the FOB you are after or more referring to having the two systems work together without getting in each other's way? Asking cause I know there's been a few horror stories with aalarms and the 350Z's and V35's. I've got an autowatch that I control from a seperate FOB but it works with the factory system without any problem. I can use one or the other or both. If trying to get the alarm to operate from the factory key is the issue, then why would you go through the hassle if there has been probs in the past. Sorry for the ignorance, just want to get a better understanding as to why there has been so many hassles with fitting alarms to these cars.
  6. Hey Mate, can I get a price for front and rear slotted rotors for 2005 NON brembo V35 Coupe (CPV35), and also the yellow stuff pads for front and rear. I'm thinking yellow stuff so i can do the odd track day (every 3-4months) , are these recommended or would red be better? Cheers Bobby
  7. Hey Waz, Are the rotors in yet? Any update on what they're like? Can i also get the part numbers for the front and rears, as am looking to these as well. cheers Bobby
  8. And people call Alonso a sook LH (quote - sort of :-) ) "If i get penalised I'm gonna be really upset, and i'm gonna take my car and go home, cause I don't want to play if everything doesn't go my way" Here's a guy who has had EVERYTHING go his way all year, and he's bitching about being hard done by. I want someone to put him into a wall Days of Thunder style. :-)
  9. Definately interetsed, but i don't think my auto would be a good groud for comparison :-) It will be spanked all over the track. Some of the times you guys are posting on tech are damn quick. My best lap in my V35 is 1:20:xx. Hopefully I'll get to whack in a second oil cooler for the tranny which will give me a bit more confidence.
  10. I think i remember reading something on G35Driver about it. Something along the lines that it could be a common prob. Sorry can't help much more than that.
  11. NISMO

    New Gtr

Dude wtf!! Maybe if you got off your high horse for a second, you could read the posts correctly and realise that Scathing was agreeing and saying how the Aussie and American mags get it wrong so often. Bit rich calling someone an idiot, when you're the one who has no concept of what the person is posting. FFS!
  12. Anyone close to the JustJap team? I've read somewhere on here that they have a new 2007 GTR on order for next years Targa!
  13. Yep, I'm going there for the install, and the mods needed to get the 350z exhaust to fit the V35. I got them to do the cooler piping on my 33 and was very happy with the work. I'd get them to do the whole thing but am worried about not gettin the sound right. At the end of the day, my car is not a race/track car and like scathing said, most exhaust will net the same/similar gains. So sound is what matters more to me as it has to be something suttle but racy and something i can live with as a daily driver. And no matter what, it's not aloud to sound like an integra with a 20 inch exhaust and 4o inch cannon :laughing-smiley-014:
  14. Is there a massive difference between the Hitech and the fuji? I've heard both on clips but would be a bit diff in real life. I'm currently in "negotiations" :-) with Eugene on 350z-tech to take his Fuji off his hands. Just trying to convince him to pull it off his car today. :-) Thanks
  15. Thanks Scathing. What's the quality like? I've heard that the rear muffler for example turns an ugly brown over time. Is this happening to yours? Any other issues? Powerplay have a 5Zigen V35 exhaust in stock which I'm considering. There's a sound clip of a 5Zigen on G35turbo.com but no idea if it's the same one. I don't want a civic sounding exhaust if you knwo what i mean. The NISMO I can get delivered for around $1650, but add the cost of customising it for the V35 and it get's closer to $2000. Cheers Bobby
  16. Yeah still unsure. But if i can get the NISMO landed around the $1400 mark, then i think I'll go with it. Just to let you know as well, the HiTech is not specific for the CPV35. It's a 350Z exhaust that needs a 6 inch extension added, after the Y pipe. Exactly what I'll need to do to the NISMO exhaust if I go with it.
  17. Very keen as well. in the middle of building a house which eats up most weekends, but unless it's something urgent I'll be there. As for routes, haven't done any in a long long time so I'm up for anything. Bells is great so happy to do that.
  18. Just spoke to the owner of Hi-tech, $1500 installed which includes the Y pipe. Stuck in two minds now. Do i wait for the NISMO or just go hi-tech?
  19. agreed about the stock sound. Like it heaps but want it louder. I'm not looking for anything like the HKS Hi Power ( which i was interetsed in, in the past). I'm waiting to hear back on a 350z NISMO exhaust from the US, which is the best sounding for me so far, and looks to be around $1400 USD delivered, and includes Y pipe.
  20. Waz, are they the same as Hi-tech in sydney? I was quoted yesetrday, $1925 installed with Y pipe. (doesn't include fit for V35) And is that for the 350Z, cause i ranga round as well, and am looking at around $300 install to get it to fit the V35. That's for extension after the Y pipe, plus possible extension of the tips if needed.
  21. Hey guys, Anyone know where I can get an exhaust in Sydney, that's already here, without having to get it shipped from Japan/USA? The ones I know of are JustJap - Kakimoto Powerplay - 5Zigen Ebay - Apexi Anything else? I really want to put one on ASAP, in the next day or so. Cheers Bobby
  22. haha thanks Jon.
  23. Dude are you serious? Please tell me you're not one of these people who think the GTR name started with the R32. The GTR name has been around much longer than that, and it took a break after the C110. It's had several different engines which aren't RB26's. The RB26 engined GTR was stopped because it was an old engine that was struggling to meat world emission standards and didn't fit into Nissan's plans to make the GTR a global car. Kinda like the SR20 turbo'd silvia's. For all we know this new engine will be the RB26 of the modern era. It is already known that the car will out perform any previous GTR's by lightyears (in factory spec). Yes the RB26 is a great motor, but the motor in the new GTR is developed from the VQ35 line which is the only motor to make the Edmunds worlds 10 best motor's list since the list started, and I'm pretty sure if it was a choice between an old RB26 and the new motor 99% of people would take the new one every day of the year. Of course if the new motor becomes plagued with problems and the new GTR is a donkey please ignore the above
  24. send "scathing" a PM. He's had a bit of work done on his 350z so should be able to point you in the right direction.
  25. Does seem quite high Frank, I'm sitting on around 9.4km/L in sydney traffic. That's taking it quite easy though. But I love it, 70km's a day and the guage only moves a notch or so per day. Cheers Bobby
