  1. Thanks Scathing Z's and G's one big happy family
  2. There's an australia forum on 350Z-tech.com. They've been talking about a meet for a while, but it's been hard trying to get everyone to agree on a date. "Scathing" who's regularly here, is the moderator over on 350Z-tech. Drop him a line. http://www.350z-tech.com/forums/Australia-f79.html Sundays should be ok with me, but I'm in the middle of building a house so once a date is confirmed I'll know more. cheers Bobby
  3. Yep, got the same thing in my 05 Coupe. Was a bit worried the first time I heard it, but then as you said noticed it was only doing it when you first drive after start up, so I assumed, don't laugh, it was some sort of pressurising of the brake fluid, in the lines. Good to know it's normal :-)
  4. Regardless of why it was left so long, you are well within the law to drive an unregistered vehicle to get it registered, or have it fixed for registration, unless you have been specifically told by teh RTA not to drive it.
  5. Hey, I'm in Sydney and could be interested, depending on day. There's a few syd Z's going on a cruise from 350Z-Tech, maybe worth looking into tagging along?
  6. Dude, thats hard luck, and also bull$hit When I was getting my V35 registered and complied, I spoke to the RTA and without doubt you are allowed to driver an unregistered vehicle to get it inspected and registered. I drove from Kirrawee, to Miranda RTA, was declined due to needing inspection, then drove homw to Fairfield area, then to Penrith 2 days later for inspection then back to fairfield to RTA. All in all over 100km's and every step was completely legal. I was actually passed by around 5 cop cars in the process, and was not pulled over once, even though i had no plates. Fight it, cause it's wrong.
  7. Well done dude, good stuff. Did you tel them to right an English version for the Sat Nav as well :-)
  8. Mate, that is an awesome time for a 33 with nothing but exhaust. What kind of rubber were you using? You must have got off the line quicker than Kate Moss when there's a camera in the room :-)
  9. Gotta Love Zaino This pic was on a pretty cloudy day as well. Used Mothers Soft Wash Megs clay Z-AIO Z-CS Z-8 Final I've had it on for a couple of weeks now and this stuff is awesome. Dirt, bugs, anything just slips straight off the paintwork with a bit of water. Just a hint if buying Zaino - If you know someone in the US get them to buy and post to you, there's a big price difference. The above cost me around $150 (Zaino only) from the US and was closer to $250 if I bought from Zaino Australia. Cheers
  10. Not sure on the sunroof/windows, but most aftermarket alarms can have this feature wired in. The BOSE headunits, actually say BOSE on them. Cheers Bobby
  11. Awesome, I'm quite happy with that, considering the tyres I had on cost a total of $450. Nice to meet you both at the track as well :-)
  12. Did mine today - not too hard, but does take a bit of time and you do need to remove alot of the dash. If anyone is giving it a shot, you need to wire the expander to power. Had a look at wiring diagram, and power is a yellow wire in both the BOSE and standard radio
  13. Read an article on it in the tele today. Unfortunately there all new car is just a body kit. It actually states that it'll use the same running gear, sorry sophsiticated running gear, engine etc as all the current models do. No wonder people turn to Skyline's
  14. dude, you are causing problems in my marriage :laughing-smiley-014: Did anyone manage to time my V35? The guy that was with me said he got me using his phone, in the very high 1min 23secs. Sounds a bit too good I think. Cheers
  15. Hey Guys, I'm looking at buying the HKS Hi Power exhuast, but I've heard that it won't fit on a V35 with hicas. I can see the word Hicas on my dash, but it has never liten up. Would this only come on if there's a problem with the Hicas? Is there anyway I can tell 100% if I have it? Thanks
  16. Yep, absolutely correct that there warranty plays a big part in what they use. HOWEVER - The Nissan J-Matic fluid seems to do a very good job, with a lot of people in states running stock auto transmissions with both Turbo's and Supercharges. The questions is why do you want to go after market? If you think after market is better, again the Nissan fluid seems to be doing quite a good job. If it's to save money - Personally I'll pay $100 extra for fluid rather than thousands extra for a new transmission. And it definately is J-matic in the autos over in the US. They don't have the 8 speed CVT. I spoke to a Nissan parts department today and got a price of $70 for 5 litres, which I think is fine considering you don't have to change it every month. And that's much less than a rebuild.
  17. I was doing a fair bit of reading on G35 Driver yesterday as well, and looks like the only fluid you can use is the Nissan J-matic. I'm going to give my Nissan place a call today, to see if they have or can get some in. The interetsing thing I found was that after doing a full tranny flush, a few posple noticed some problems. Also a few poeple said their dealerships over there recommeneded against doing a full tranny flush, and instead just letting the old oil out and filling it up with new. I've decieded to do this for know, but will do it quite often, that way your sort of doing a full flush over time anyway. anyone else have any thoughts.
  18. count me and the V35 in for now. It's gonna be fun trying to use the foot handbrake at this one :laughing-smiley-014:
  19. Hey mate, Only the 350GT-8 sedan has a CVT. All the coupes, either have the tiptronic auto or 6sp manual. As far as the transmission oil goes, I've heard that you MUST use genuine nissan, and nothing else. Engine oil is not such a big issue, and I think you'll find that most people use some form of aftermarket oil. Keep us posted on what you find out about the auto box oil, cause i'm looking to change mine sson as well. Cheers Bobby
  20. Thanks Duncan, Yeah loved it, first time out since selling my 33 about 4 years ago. I'm hoping it's more me being a little cautious and not wanting to break anything. It's only been n the road for 2 weeks. The tyres I had on yesterday were really crap. ($400 for all 4 corners for complaince :-) ). The breaks once the track dried lasted a max of about 2 laps. So I want to sort these things out, and then get out there again. BUT, an auto V35 gearbox is not something i can afford to break. I'll definitely check for the cooler. Cheers mate, and good mic work :-)
  21. do a search and you should come up with the parts needed. I think from memory you need 3 separate parts due to the antena config. 1 from antenna to expander, then the expander, then from expander to the back of the radio. I have the parts somewhere here just haven't got around to installing. As for removal of the dash, there are a few DIY instructions on some of the american G35 sites.
  22. Hey guys, did a bit of a search but couldn't really find anything. I have a V35 350GT auto, and took it out to Wakefield yesterday. The car seems quite balance, but did have a nice amount of understeer. Stock brake pads, lasted around 3 laps before they became very very soft. But - the one thing that stopped me from pushing the car very hard, was the auto gearbox. It's the first time I've been on the track in an auto and don't really know what the limits are. So, is it worth strengthening the auto, or should the stock box hold up quite well to 5-10 laps of very hard driving without a problem. I am thinking a cooler is realitvely chap and easy to do, so I'll probably throw one of these in very soon. Should I do anything internally? Cheers Bobby
  23. Another big thanks to the organiser, had a blast in the V35, even if Corrine claims it's not really a skyline :-)
