  1. Dose anyone know how much it cost to replace a oil pressure switch on a GTR R32, Also are the R33 GTR the same?
  2. True but the motor has only done 40,000km and i have had a few test's done on it when i got the car, But saying that if or when it dose die it just gives me an excuse to rebuild my motor lol
  3. When you have done it can you take a pics and post it up please, as i bought on of those style drift style catch fo my R32 GTR and had no room to mount it. Also you can tap a hole into it for a breather, thats what one of my mates told me.
  4. Mine used to be fine, alway on 4 or just under, Last week i noticed that when i start the car it reads about 4 and once warm reads almost 0. Same as yours. I think i might get a oil pressure gadge and test it out next week.
  5. White smoke usually means water, so either you may have a head gasket problem or if possible one of the water lines in the turbos is leaking. Are you using any water at all? Check all levels. Also let it idle so the water temp gets up to operating temp and see if you are leaking any water. Put your hand over the zorst and feel if it is wet. Do that while it is still running and has warmed up. Let it cool down over night and check your water levels. If the water levels have changed then it is possible that you may have water leaking into the zorst.
  6. Was it still blowing smoke straight after the turbo rebuild? What colour is the smoke? Also i would be taking it back to the guy who did the work or go to another turner and get him to look at it.
  7. I would like to bring up a few points that Transport Minister Paul Lucas failed to bring up when he was referring to "modified car(s)” as a serious problem, that those are the ones from Japan. Firstly if I choose to upgrade my brakes in my car dose that mean that I am automatically going to drive even faster? No maybe I chose to change my brakes for something better because I want to be able to stop better. Or How about suspension, I decide I want to lower my car and in the possess I got out and buy good aftermarket suspension which is legal. I want a nice firm smooth ride and I don’t want my car sitting up high Or I decided that its time I get new rubber, and when looking at buying some new rubber I look over at my car and think to my self, man those wheels I have are shit, so I get some bigger wheels and better rubber to suit. You get the picture I am trying to paint here These are some of the reasons why young and old ppl choose to modified there cars. My point being is, I have modified my car, but if you look at it, in every single one of those examples has a safety aspect behind it. Now the Government plays theses ads on TV telling us to wipe off 5, Ok if I did one or more of those “modifications” I should be able to stop a lot better shouldn’t I. I think Transport Minister Paul Lucas has lost touch with society. For him to come out and say that says it all. If he is so concerned about increasing numbers of second-hand Japanese vehicles being imported into Australia maybe he should wakeup and realize that not everyone is able to afford a second hand second rate car built in Australia. And that a second-hand Japanese vehicle is a lot cheaper and better in so many factors. Thats my 2 cents worth anyway, By the way we all should get a mass e-mail going and send it to Paul Lucas Maybe he might realise that there is a lot of ppl out there who are not all hoons.
  8. I got mine at Bursons, Don't go to nissan as they will charge upwards of $25.00 for something like that. I went to a nissan dealer for a price and thats what he gave me $25.00 for a fuseble link.
  9. Yeh I was just checking that out earlier on just before Dinner, Cool I didn't think a truck shop would be cheaper but then again they would sell more there,
  10. Ok I have spoken to a few performance work shops today and what most of them has told me that you are better of using silicon or rubber instead of using Alloy, mainly because if you are running more boost what can happen is that instead of a rubber/silicon pipe just blowing off the motor takes the full grunt of the force which is no good. Now I know a lot of ppl are going to say "yeh but you still use silicon joiners, so they should just come off" well the joiners are small and have very little flex, that and the metal pipe will not allow it to move much, Any way that’s what I have sourced out today. Aim going to be using silicon piping for those reason because I will be running a fair bit off boost as soon as I get the apexi tuned.
  11. I didn't know that, you learn something new everyday.
  12. Ahh good work there, now about the dial i have no clue as to what that is for, Ill have a look into it and have a closer look at those photos
  13. You are right about the steal adding more weight. Alloy would be the go but might cost a bit more to do, need to to look into it..
  14. I have a closer look at my intercooler and it seems that the pervious owner had cut the end tanks off and had them flared out so suit a new core which is the same 300x600 but 90mm wide not 70mm wide. So what I have been thinking is we can get some new silicon piping from lets say auto barn and hopefully the bends are the same. IF that dose not works how about a group buy like what you said. So basically we need new piping to suit a standard cooler, either stainless steel or silicon. I think stainless steel would be better as there is no flex. Hopefully someone hear has had theirs replaced before and could shed some light on this as you have pointed out there are more pipes available for rb25s.
  15. Aim after some new intercooler pipes to replace my standard pipes, my car is a 32 GTR. I think my cooler is standard the size of it is 300x600x90. Can you get pipe kits to suit the standard cooler without buying a new cooler? Someone said to me that I need to get them made up to suit is this true? I have asked around at a few places and they only seem to sell them in full kit form + intercooler. Also what is a good way of cleaning your cooler as I was think I might clean it while I have it all off.
  16. Hear is another site you guys might want to check out http://www.roadwatch.com.au/speedcameras.asp
  17. No problem can you get close ups of it
  18. Hey mate, have you opened it up and had a look at the EEPROM and other chips in side? If not have a look in side, now try not to touch the chips them selves around the metal legs where they connect on the circuit board. Static Electricity kills memory and some other chips, Now write down what you see in there, stuff like any info on the EPROM and other chips ect… and Google that and see what comes up, there might be a sticker in there with some info. You might find something. I do this all the time when aim installing old hardware in computers and don't have drivers for them, I hope this helps
  19. If you car facing the boot of you car and stick your head in the boot it's the one on your left hand side. The larger on of the two.
  20. check out this vid http://videos.streetfire.net/video/4E82183...67786120887.htm This kid makes me sick; I just want to rip that badge of his car.
  21. I ‘am using the GT2560R’s in mine and I find it quite good, the lag is about the same as stock one. I getting 241rwkws with only 10psi with full zorst with custom dumps and a k&n panel filter on a stock ecu. When I fit the power pc ill be looking at running 14psi which should be enough for now But all in all they are a great turbo and cheaper then the hks 2530's so you do save a bit and can spend elsewhere. B)
  22. I finaly found the sorce of the problem , after going over the car with a multi meter and checking the wiring looms i found that i had a short in my indicator wire on that left hand side. The short was in the loom that runs under the raditor support. replaced the wire and good as new.
  23. thanks very much for helping me out brian, as you said Electricals are tricky and very time comsuming which i want to avoid a auto elect because it could take them a while to fid the problem and at $55 per hour i would rather do most of the ground work my self before i go there, just to save some dollars. Once again thanks guys..
  24. Hi Brian I have been having some trouble my abs unit in my R32 GTR recently and was hoping that you might know of this problem or heard of it around the traps. On Sunday I started my car and the anti lock light came up on my dash, I check the fuse link in the engine bay and it was blown, I changed the fuse and the left hand side indicators all stay on, I also checked the unit in the boot and the led flashed 8 times. I have also checked the Actuator terminal and it seams to be ok, maybe the Actuator Relay could be dead, Sorry for hijacking this thread like this but I though I might ask hear because of Brian’s expertise, any help would be great
  25. ok the problem has come back but the fuse did not blow this time, But the indicators on the left hand side are staying on same as last time, Iam going to change the Actuator Relay and see if that helps as soon as i find one, If this fails then i think i might have to go to nissan or some one who knows the problem,
