  1. Dont finish my shift till 8 and as i'm working at redcliffe that week it would be too late by the time i got back into the city
  2. Yeah was suspecting the loom but the fault was traced to the injector - although there was power going to it, the ecu triggers the injector to inject by earthing it - which it wasn't doing- pulled out the ecu to check for faulty parts, water damage etc- all good- put it back in the car ran fine again! I suspect a loose connection either in the pin of no.1 injector earth lead (on the ecu side) or a problem within the ecu itself- maybe dry solder joint? Either way problem was fixed and only cost $88 (took it to an auto electrician in the end) !! (i was thinking hundreds at least!!)
  3. woooo back from the sunny coast, Took it to moolooabah auto electrics (on aerodrome rd moolooabah) - talked to a kiwi bloke there, left my car for an hour, came back and it was running like a dream! 6. I see you lurking there karen/marc!!
  7. not when my luggage is packed full of drugs!! i can go boogey board riding in wales right?? hmm maybe i'll ask chapelle..
  8. Ok so thought i was stupid to do the compression on only 1 cyl so went back and did the whole thing No1 150psi No2 150psi No3 140psi No4 140psi No5 145psi No6 140psi no 1 actually gave a reading as high as 160psi but with a couple of repeats the figure was 150psi. Now i'm really out of time, have to get ready for the drive to the sunny coast.. Stupid work 12DFY- yep i'm suspecting injectors aswell, i'll get someone to check them aswell as the circut to no.1 coil.

  10. Ok so i disconnected each coil to narrow it down to a cylinder that was the problem, its no.1. First thing i did was pull the sparkplug out, looks a bit black, and has that shiney coat i mentioned earlier? Could be fuel??? but had no strong fuel smell to it... Ran a compression test - 150psi on that cylinder (didn't have time to do the others) Put in a copper plug, didn't fix it, took out the splitfire coil and replaced it with my standard one, didn't fix it. So at this stage i'm assuming it has to be a wiring fault to the no.1 coil.

  12. You can always come and fix my misfiring engine, thats bound to give you something to do!
  13. well if u dont like where ur at right now then change. I'm aiming to go work in ireland in the next 6-12 months, and will treat it like a fresh start, ie: go over there with nothing apart from whatever i can fit into my luggage and some cash. Plus how would you define your life if it was leading somewhere?? what do you need to do to get to that stage?
  14. dude alot of us are in the same boat - i moved here almost 2 years ago. I have no family here, the couple of friends i had from highschool that moved down here i lost touch with, my job sends me out of town for weeks at a time and dodgy shifts aswell. If you really think your job is such a lifestyle drain then maybe you should find another one with more regular hours?
  15. I usually get these repco vouchers (every time without fail for the last 3 years), i paid my rego the other week and NO VOUCHER!! could be they stopped doing them?
  16. I dont think anyone whos part of the powers that be (ie: council) really gives a stuff, they have govt cars (paid for by us) and have better things to do with their time and money. I'm sure all it takes is one resident on mt nebo/glorious complaining about the local hooligans and things like this happen, whats next?? I got an idea mr beattie, how about 3ft spikes on the guard rails too.. When exactly has the qld govt done anything good about our 'shocking road toll' for young drivers, hmm i know, lets take away their facilities so they're forced on the road, leave a bullshit licencing system in place that lets inexperienced drivers loose without enough expierence to handle themselves, how about victimizing them for bullshit defects, but hey more hoons ON the road getting pulled up MORE of the time means more money and exposure for his laws on being 'tough' with hoons. At least mr joe public driving past in his camry thinks they must be doing a fantastic job targetting these hoons, after all they look exactly like those 'illegal st racers' he saw on today tonight last nite and they are a danger to themselves aswell as his grandkids. What a great government! he'll vote for them in the next election!! End rant! lol
  17. Update- checked the 02 sensor today, reads 0.2-0.9v when cruising, which i understand is normal. Disconnected it anyway which sends a constant 0.3v signal to the ecu- no effect. Coolant level was normal, and the fresh oil i put in the car yesterday is at least still clean. AlexR34- i know some manufacturers dont recommend ethanol but in my experience (aswell as many others) the car runs happier on it. These cars were designed to run on 100ron fuel after all. Some people have had problems with it though, in any case it would be on average 1 in every 10 tanks of fuel..
  18. I know you specified a 4wd trade only but will you consider other cars at all (cash adjustment to go with it of course)
  19. Well its a definate shudder at idle, and sounds like a wrx, the worst is when you put a bit of load on the motor with some throttle (say going up a hill or taking off from the lights at slow speed) the sound changes to more of a kombi sound lol it shudders from 2000-3000rpm , then is less noticable (but still definatley there, jsut the higher rpm masks it i think). The car will build full boost but doesn't rev out cleanly like it should. Lifting off throttle the car runs down completley normal - no shudder, hesitation, knocking noises etc.. Guess i'll know next week. Thanks for the replys guys
  20. Damn sounds alot like my problems going to get a comp check done ASAP..
  21. Hey mate, I'm working 12-8pm shifts i'm afraid, but if you have a free morning, or dont mind having a look in the evening i would be happy to drop by to see if we can come up with anything... I'm staying down in moorochydore but will have to drive up to buderim each day. Was planning to get a compression check, diagnosis etc.. done at a mechanic in mooroochydore, would you have any recommendations?
  22. If i upgrade the stock injectors to some sort of bolt on higher flowing option (say nismo ones) must i change the ecu? (still running the stock ecu). What about high flowing injectors i've heard that can be done too?
  23. going thru a similar thing myself http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=129882
  24. might give them a call tuesday... gunna try a new 02 sensor i think. Nissan dealerships aren't open 2morro i think, i rang both autobarn and repco today they dont have any for r33's (i have a part no for the ngk replacement one but both stores said they dont stock ngk!?!? I think supercheap does so i'll go see them 2morro. Or i'll grab a genuine one from nissan maroochydore (assuming there is one lol)
