  1. Cummon guys dont be so down. Go out and buy a good engine reconditioning book, and study it, bear in mind you will have to spend about $1000 on tools assuming you already have the simple tools like spanners and sockets, but youll spend that money on labour anyway. Get the motor machined up and assemble yourself, checking everything twice. Hire an engine crane for the weekend_or buy one, there like $200 on ebay) and swap them yourself, save you money and give you twice the satisfaction.
  2. No, if you put them one in front of the other, they will each reas all the air, instead of half. If you want to modify onoe and put the internals into a 90,, pipe after the intercooler, them all you have to do is bridge the output of the afm and reprogram the ecu to suit.
  3. Can we move this to whoretown
  4. Y recon it s a great idea, just get a vct controller from jaycar. Make sure you can get the nistune first, as some people on here have been having dramas getting them
  5. limiter in my car is set at 8200 but has seen more. How?
  6. Whats the question? rb30 pistons wont cut it, the comp ends up too high. If you plan on using a 1.2m headgasket to drop it, it wont be anywhere enough, and is the wrong way of going about it. RB30ET forged pistons work out about right in the comp, at between 8.3 and 8.6 depending on what headgasket you use, how much the head/block get skimmed during the build, and the specific brand of piston.
  7. It will be fine, as long as you have a good enought pump, so there is no pressure drop.
  8. If you like i can source one and send it over, postage for one to canada comes to $650, so i imagine denmark would be about the same.
  9. As you arent runnign a collar, i would leave the rb30 pump, as they dont seem to have problems in the standard car
  10. No offense intended, but if the engine builder is recommending a thick headgasket to get an appropriate comp ratio, he shouldnt be building rb26's. I wouldnt have any problem running the higher comp ratio(8.8-9:1) as long as you give it nice tight piston to head clearance to improve combustion efficiency and reduce detonation.
  11. Is there oil in the water, or water in the oil? Is it going through water, could be headgasket.
  12. Has the consult plug been wired up, if so i would do a diagnostic check first, then a comp test, check coils for cracks and set plug gaps to .8mm
  13. Pretty sure thr r34 neo one is the same, if it is, ive got one, and am coming up to brissy this weekend, ill have a look tomorrow
  14. You can even use a vl one, ive got one for $40 if your interested.
  15. I seriously doubt your friends supra has 60mm i.d. exhaust runners, it would be impossible to make the manifold, and wouldnt work anywhere near as well as more appropriate sized runners.
  16. Mee too, and i think that BOV's were specifically fitted to improve emissions and fuel comsumption on AFM cars, hence why all modern AFM cars have recirc BOV's and non afm cars dont(although there aren't many of them, some supra's etc.)
  17. Are you talking inside diameter, if so i wouldnt go for either of those sizes, what size are the valves/exhaust ports
  18. I fitted one to stagea, it had the 3in outlets, 2.5inch would have been easier
  19. Hi, spoolup, just wondering how you go about getting head gasket thickness
  20. Have you done a diagnosit check, could be the CAS
  21. There is a benefit to fitting a camgear to the exhaust side, only the inlet has VCT, an its the same as the r33 setup. What results are you looking for, 450rwkw is way beyond what you are looking for.
  22. Dont see why you couldn't
  23. Im after one for a 32gtr, if that helps you, im in no hurry, whatever is convenient.
