  1. My mate got ane of those rb26 setups for $220, threw the turbo away and put a garrett on it using the parts in the kit.
  2. I dont think datascan will work on an r33? A consult interface will though, it depends if you want to moitor the ecu or reprogram it.
  3. In which case a poewr fc d-jetro will fix the problem, as they dont use the air flow meter
  4. I love Autronics, but for your application, i would use a power fc, save you over $1000 straight up.
  5. Stzrt by looking in the rb20 sticky section at the top of the page, anything up to about 250rwkw is about the limit of streetable power, although at this level expect it to be quite laggy. I believe the gearboxes are similar to gtr ones, so you wont have any problems there. Depending on what power output you are after, look at the rb20 guide, there is heaps of turbo selections avail, you just have to weigh up lag versus power. There are two guys on here who can do chips, no where near $1000, lot cheaper, or you could get a power fc for about $1600. You will need injectors, gtr ones are cheap and go straight in, a gtr fuel pump will do nicely, cams and gears aren't a bad idea, but ive seen 276rwkw without them. Use the search function it will save you a lot of time. The biggest problem you will have is that it is only a 2lt, and to make big power, you get big lag.
  6. These are usually used on carby motors to prevent the fuel i the carby boiling after you shut the car off. I would imagine that most of the heat in the inlet manifold would came from the surrounding underbonnet heat, not through the transfer of heat from the gasket surface, however if you could reduce your engine bay temps enough so that the head is heating the manifold then there may be a very small gain, but water/math injection would work about 50 times better i would imagine.
  7. Unfortunately there isn't much you can do to fix the tune of your car without getting a power-fc or some other computer, the computer retards the timing and richens the mixture when it detects the car is running outside the factory specs(more boost).Cars with a catback exhaust can hit rick and retard on a cold night.
  8. Just go back to the dyno and ask for a printout of the a/f ratio, the dyno stores all this imformation for later retreival.
  9. Yes it does, they fit a q45 throttle body, this is one of the things i am waiting for
  10. Its called rich and retard, the computer trying to save the motor, it doesn't look like the coils are breaking down though. Do you have a printout of the air fuel ratio's, could also need fuel pump.
  11. Im also very keen, just waiting on photos from supplier.
  12. I wouldn't call this a leanout, it looks like the tuner got to high boost, 6000rpm and suddenly learnt how to tune, all those power runs are too rich except the "lean out" Also in reality to tune a motor properly, you dont tune it for midrange power, the only thing that should affect it is cam timing, Mixtures and ignition timing should be optimised for the entire range of rpm and load. PS with those injectors, they should max out at about 450rwkw, with a standard regulator, and a good pump
  13. definately locking tabs, dont use spring washers as they cant handle te heat, if there is enough thread, put a second nut on the thread and lock them up.
  14. This is only a guess, but i would bet the wire goes up to the fuse box in the engine bay.
  15. Measure the voltage across the pump, and see if it is 12v, but fuel pump is very likely.
  16. Could not agree more, get the smallest turbo possible that will achieve the power you want, area under the torque curve wins races on the street every time, nothing worse than having 700hp and having to look like a tool to beat a standard v6 commodore with big revs/noise and wheelspin.
  17. R32 gtr box-push type, worked fine till one day it didn't select reverse, apart from that no noises, grinding etc.$300 R220 visc lsd out of Z32 fits R32/33, feels tight for a viscous, $150 P.S. 5 bolt axles, so wont fit gtr, stronger than gts-t, bolts in. Sydney
  18. Now come with 60% bridgestone S02's 235/45R18
  19. Just wait until you get a fuel pump. Does the car misfire, if the coils are breaking down, a missfire will show up as leanness on the a/f meter, otherwise it is just lean. Can you do the earth mod as per r33? The other thing that you could do is put a fuel pressure gauge on it and check that under load.
  20. That sounds like a bit much, i think anything over 2 psi is considered a restrction.
  21. I think that roguepi on ebay sells them, not cheap though.
  22. Im sure there will be, just look up thread repair in the yellow pages.
  23. well said nismo
