  1. check post above mate, September 10> I wonder what the 34 will have by then...so many plans, so many options, so little disposable income... and I just found this emoticon :win:
  2. Jason Nottle, used to be at Minisport, now at ETSA with me, he's building a weapon of a 1600, lime green + SR20. Had a look over your car at the Extreme Horsepower Show, once again I was tempted to go for a JDM street racer styling lol.
  3. One of the guys got quoted $3000 EACH from Nissan, to put you in the ballpark.
  4. Hmmm... pity about that. As I'm in Adelaide, with a 34GTT that needs some new DBA 4000 series front rotors, quoted at $218/side+GST, so if you get them, good buy!
  5. $35 delivered for the driver's side sunvisor only. If you have A-pillar trim as well, let me know. PM me if you're happy with that.
  6. What? Jason told me your car was still in the workshop... sucks that you got defected, though I'm hardly surprised...the car doesn't exactly fade into the traffic with that kind of presence! Let me know if/when you get it back on the roads and I shall bring my stocko down and have a chat sometime.
  7. Hey, my factory passenger side carbon fibre copy vinyl is sun damaged, can anyone recommend a good seller of a replacement vinyl that will have a high UV tolerance? A mate bought some off ebay, which turned red within a week, not keen on going down that road. So, refer quality products, time tested or with a guarantee please. thanks guys.
  8. Despite the fact that the topic is about as thrashed out as Kings Cross, I want to chuck in my opinion. A good mate of mine owns SNIPER, a 322awKW '92(?) R32 GTR, which did have stock internals (+cams & cam gears). Only other money was spent on leather & carbon fibre inside, and a set of GTC's. I've been around a sweeper at 180kmh, a memorable experience. Also, the only thing I've ever driven and got tunnel vision (boosting 2nd @ 20+psi) My housemate and great friend bought a 280awKW '94 R32 GTR, fully built R33 motor, coilovers, brakes, stock interior. I drive it probably once a fortnight at least. It rattles, bumps, blows intercooler piping off, the climate control doesn't really have a heater, it runs roughly for no apparent reason occasionally, has 3 switches and a knob to do with changing the drive bias that don't seem to work, and somehow we got it spinning the front left when the rears had traction driving onto grass...didn't think the ATTESSA allowed that to happen? Both those GTR's are awesome. They both have low 4s to high 3 second 0-100 times. Supercar stuff. Both look ridiculously menacing on the road with stock bodywork. Both sound awesome, at idle, and on full song. Both attract huge amounts of negative attention from the authorities, young parents, and mature aged drivers every time they are out in traffic, both have 330+kmh speedos, a constant temptation, and a pain trying to work out whether or not you're speeding, as the needle hasn't even reached the 9 o'clock mark at 60kmh. SNIPER is now off the road for the 6th+ time in 2 years, receiving a full engine build, the owner is in a LOT of debt to his bank. My housemate smashed the front of his within a month because the malfunctioning ATTESSA combined with 280kw on a wet night resulted in an altercation with a guard rail...+$4000. I just bought a mint, stock, '99 R34 GTT sedan, Premium pack, as my daily. The best word to describe it is "effortless". It does everything easily, without fuss. I have taken it to speed limiter, The first indication that I was getting to the end of the spectrum...well there was none. It pulled smoothly all the way to limiter. Climate Control - works a treat, it came with factory sat nav and TV, if I could read Japanese...I managed to get one with a sunroof, it's a great cruiser to drive around town. At lower speeds the car turns in harder than the seats can hold me, and it out-accelerates most other sedans, and has a nice interior too. So, I like both, and I get to drive both, and appreciate each for its worth. My GTT for its comfort, economical maintenance, and styling, And My Mates' GTRs, for their sheer performance and thrill to drive, they make you love life as you string together a long winding road, turbos sucking up the road in front, then smoothly tracking through corner like it's on rails, before planting the throttle to hear that smooth but raw RB sound as it leaps out of the corner. My S12 is a different kettle of fish, it's like a b*tchy go kart, that will go around just about anything (3 years worth of suspension development, and not even close to where I wanted to achieve) but with only a strong N/A CA18, it means you have to keep it screaming, keeps you completely busy and focussed behind the wheel, positive feedback from everything, driver and car in touch like the mx-5 concept. Drifting is like a rodeo, constantly feeling what the car's doing, and making aggressive changes to kick the b*tch back into line. I love driving it...it also makes me love life. But it, like the GTR's, is plagued with old age and a hard life, and is constantly breaking new things...thus, I bought a nice daily - the 34 GTT.
  9. Hi, I realise you've taken a bit of a beating from the masses, however I was interested to note that you say "Will fit both sedans or coupes. GT or GT-T". I recently bought a 34 sedan, and the Xenons have been butchered for compliance, which I was quite irate about, telling the seller that he better get me a set or he won't get a sale... So the next morning he told me he had tried fitting the pair from a coupe he had, but was unsuccessful. So, I wrote into the contract of sale that he will source and supply a new set for me. But! Long story short, if they fit both sedans and coupes, then why couldn't this seller fit the coupe lights to my sedan to make an easy sale, rather than the complicated process of an extended contract, and more effort on his behalf? I have no reason to disbelieve either you, or him, but your stories contradict, so I'm now confused lol. Please clarify. -Nato
  10. Hey mate, can you either post up a pic or PM one to me of the boot lip spoiler? cheers.
  11. Spacers are fine in my (and close mates') experience, for the street. As an added measure, to compensate for less thread surface, always use an appropriate thread-locker (choose the right loctite product for your needs). I haven't had ANY disadvantages to installing them. In fact, I think they are the best value-for-money change I have ever made on my car.
  12. Just rang you, good to have a quick chat, see you tomorrow, with luck we can sort it out and I can have a new ride -troy
  13. That depends... What has it got at the moment? If it is 100% stock, then there is a few tricks and bits, if you've done some mods, then this could get more technical. If it's stock, buy a pair of rack-end spacers, and install them. Ask any of the sponsors selling them for someone's before and after pics. I swear by them, best money and time I've spent. Easy U turns in an average residential street, without wheelspin If it is just a drift car, try running a bit of toe-out, as this will effectively increase the steering angle of the inside wheel (one carrying the majority of the force during opposite lock) but sacrifices outer wheel grip to do so. You may notice a tiny bit longer delay in turn-in from a straight-line grip approach, as the outer wheel takes longer to actually point into the corner. Don't do this on a street car. It WILL kill your tyres, and result in bad road handling, due to the outside wheel having barely any grip. Beyond this, you may need to look into modifications of the suspension components, the rule here is not to let the tie rods form a straight line (or go beyond!!) with the part of the knuckle they join to. If that occurs, you will not be able to return the wheels, as they will most likely "cam-over" and be stuck into position at full lock = you WILL hit something.
  14. I noticed the 4 stud. How's the braking department? Upgraded to suit the RB20DET?
  15. Bought the injectors at that awesome price, Chris is a great bloke to deal with, everything was packed well, he got it sent with DHL and gave me the tracking number, I didn't even think of asking for one! Let alone that it arrived within days from the UAE, great communication all the way through. Gets 5 stars ***** for going above and beyond the call of duty Champion. I only wish I could buy all the stuff for my build from you...it'd be sooo much easier that way lol. -Nato
  16. Given that this has the same turbos as SNIPER and RBWARE (in SA), of which one is running well over (rebuilt engine), and one detuned (original engine) to a bit less than 300awkw, he's not making any ridiculous claims on power. I've driven SNIPER, and it's a very nice setup, the turbos don't have any real lag to speak of, and the car is very quick. Snap this up QLDer's!
  17. Hey mate, try posting on www.aus12.org, an S12 enthusiast site, you may get some more interest, especially at that price
  18. I'm keen to hear of progress, I want to get a level 2 NS for motorkhana/drift pracs and this would be the best club for me to join, should it become a reality.
  19. Hey gday, I tried calling you several times about the seat, and have messaged you as well, my number is 0411 544 307. If it's stillavailable, I would like the whole thing, in adelaide as well, let me know!
  20. Hey, can you post up a phone number please, so I can contact you? I'd like to have a chat before moving to the next stage of purchasing. Cheers. send to [email protected] if you wish to keep it private, or my number is 0411 544 307.
  21. So true. When I was on my L's I used to drive quite hard (near to my ability limits) with my parents in the car (I live in the Adelaide hills), but when I drove for the lessons in the instructor's car it was a nice sunday meander. (except on two occasions: #1 - the country drive - my instructor also lived in the hills, so my drive was on the nice back roads of the hills, he told me 'You may go as fast as you like, as long as you are in control of the car.', but even then I only wound it up on the longest of the straights. #2 - my final drive - the instructor's car had a touchy accelerator, and was quite nippy, I just settled into enjoying the drive a little too much and waiting until well after 3000rpm before changing, once I realised what I was doing I quickly stopped though! Please don't get me wrong though, I do not consider that I drive in a way that is unsafe to others. I never drive more than 10% more than the speed limit in populated areas, or if anyone else is in the car. I don't do burnouts, drive on the wrong side of the road while pushing it, etc. My only accident I have treated as an immense learning experience, I had entered a S-corner at the same speed as I would in the dry, (estimated at twice the posted suggested speed) late one night in the wet, the rear came well and truly out. I corrected, the rear switched sides, and as I drifted across the lanes a taxi came around the blind corner and locked its brakes. Instinct caused me to do the same, and I slid along his drivers side. No one was physically hurt. However I now drive with a huge amount of respect for the driving conditions. I would like to attend an advanced driving course, however I can't afford to as of yet. So, in my opinion, the best thing that the government can do is provide/require more experience for drivers before letting them loose on the roads. Probably the most intelligent thing they have done in SA is to require a minimum of 50hrs of driving on L's, with 10 at night. More similar requirements can only help.
  22. Far out, how dirty is that area where you park!! I'm pretty impressed by the install, it looks nice and neat, although I think I need some pics from behind with the rear bar on, because at the moment the lights look set too low for me.
  23. I am anti-vinyl. however, for 450hp, I guess I could deal with it until the soonest moment I could take them off...
  24. SAU presumably recieves money in return for advertising banner rights, etc, is that sufficient to qualify as a business of sorts?
  25. I believe there is some truth in that, because as the final stage of police officer training, you are required to make a forceful arrest (ie where the 'criminal' resists arrest and you have to get them), so I can see how officers who weren't so wonderful at taking out real criminals could be passed on to the 'soft' jobs like traffic duty. That, and the label of 'soft job' could quite easily give an officer the kind of attitude that they have to 'prove' that they can keep people in check and deal 'justice'. It's just a pity that we have to bear the brunt of it. Oh well, rise of the sleeper!
