Great. I just happen to have a 60 litre donut LPG tank sitting there ! Is that the only option! does the petrol tank need to be drained to fit the pump? Which pump would you go with?

Thanks gojir4 Car died again today so I will get the fuel pump replaced next week. How is it done . Can the pump be replaced without disconnecting everything . Is there easy access eg from above the back seat or does the tank have to be taken out? The auto electrician is unclear what to do until I give him the car. Any recommendations for Brisbane for an auto electrician familar with skylines and fuel tank pumps??

1996 Skyline gt 4 door ER33. Stock standard but running on LPG This afternoon the RACV got my car started after giving the fuel tank 5 or 6 solid blows. Apparently the fuel tank pump had seized, for want of a better word.( I doubt the fuel was contaminated , but possible) Since then the car has started effortlessly. Is there a replacement fuel tank pump I can get if I don't want to get a new skyline fuel tank pump should the pump be too expensive.( Can I even buy a new fuel tank pump) What are my options? Since this has only happened once am I being overly concerned about the fuel pump? Do they tend to fail intermittently or suddenly? Can I economically get an external fuel pump and have it fitted? thanks

Turns out the steering rack is leaking and I need a rebuild. thanks for your input

This car is not a turbo GTR . Its a very basic Naturally Aspirated skyline. Do I even have a speedsensitive steering control unit? thanks

Tyrre pressurs are 36psi. Not Hicas equipped. There are some odd noises and the steering pulley seems a good guess now its been pointed out. Thanks

GTS 1996 skyline Why has my power steering become heavier over the last few weeks? This is more noticeable when parking. I had the unit reconditioned about 8 months ago. There is fluid in the unit. It bubbles and seems to be about half full. I cant see any fluid leaking, though I guess its a possibly I wasn’t sure things had changed, but my wife certainly notices the difference. I will get a mechanic to check it out tomorrow, but before hand I would like to get a few opinions and perhaps narrow down a possible cause By the way , How long should a recondtioned unit last for? I hae done 4,000km in 10 months. For $550 dollars should I expect any faults to be still covered by warranty. None was given but this fault doesnt seem right. Arny Schwarzenegger

Let the buyer beware, is a common thread running through the law of contract. In this private sale of a car its bad luck for the buyer. As was stated earlier the laws that apply to retal sales dont apply to a private sale. Ignore all further communication other wise you will stress yourself out un-necessarliy.

Scotty did mine and I was really surprised at the power gain and how quickly the turbo spooled up. Dont have any measurements but it was more than noticeable. He was very fair on price and did a great job.

Answer to purchase will depend on the year and the price you want to pay.For $10,000 its a steal for $20,000 you could do a lot better I doubt its done 53000km.It could have done twice as much and you would not be the wiser. Fantastic car but heavy on fuel. Engine compartment virtually has no space to add anything.

Yes I am running SVI. A faulty water temperature sensor appears to be the problem,which will be replaced in a few days. Apparently when 2 lights come on ,on the fuel gauge, it indicates a fault and reverts to petrol.I have an EMER system. Anyone else come across this problem?

Just recently I have a high pitched beeping sound in the M35 stagea, while driving. It happens when the LPG indicator is on and petrol indicator is on at the same time. it might happen aftr 25 minutes driving or 5 minutes driving, Swicth to petrol and the noise disappears until you switch back to LPG. Some hesitation also occurring when taking off at the lights. Whats the cause. How do you fix, Is it going to do any damage and if so exactly what?

you must be a miserable driver if you take up that offer. Surely you don't want to fork out 17.5% on insurance . Just go 3rd party property damage. Why do you need comprehensive on a cheap car. Even 4% is a bit high in my view which is what I pay on my car

Dont let people walk all over you. If it takes time, money and effort big deal.Do you want everything served to you on a plate? If you win all costs should be covered by the other party. If they were a business it should be covered by their insurance which they almost certainly have.There is a very low chance they don't have any insurance Lawyers can suck you dry its true, but that isn't necessarily your first avenue. Just the threat of legal action can make people fold. Proceed , get more information and latter assess what to do rather than give up before you start.

FYI , the steering pump seals were allowing air in when cold causing a cavitation noise, but once warm the seals were doing there job.Have had it repaired.

Required for normal daily driving , engine is non turbo version. Reliability is required .its just a family car - no racing .
