  1. I was totally unaware of this group buy as well . if it happnes again let me know
  2. petrodola What is the difference with the new exhaust?
  3. Birds ,or anyone else willing to give some advice. I will import a 2001 M35 Stagea with 115,000 on the clock . I have no idea of the service or driving history from Japan, but my guess is there must have been a lot of stop start driving. it wont have been driven for 6 months when I get it. How should l I approach the oil change and what initial oil should I put in it. In Brisbane I was expecting to run a 10w -40w Royal Purple but don't want to be dumping an expensive synthetic oil if the advice is to clean the engine out over a few oil changes. I will also eventually install an oil by pass filter .
  4. Where an I get the specifications to review the filtration claim for Drift. What filtration size did you find with K&N? At a 10 times reduction you would be looking at around 2 microns which is amazing, compared to the average oil filter of 20 to 30 microns. After cutting open 25 oil filters, what from your experience can you say, in your opinion , as I assumme there was not an oil analysis done.
  5. I dont think that is quite right Duncan. Tyres need to have a D.O.T marking on them to meet compliance. No DOT marking no compliance. I brought my car from Japan with tyres bought in Japan , and queried qld transport before arriving to detrmine what was required.
  6. Ended up placing the unit in front of the rhs wheel area, behind the bumper. it probaly helps cool the oil a little in the process. Not the most convienient postion to replace the filter but this will only occur ocassionally and only a little hassle.
  7. Did you get an immobalizer for how much and how effective is it. have you modified anything yet?
  8. Scotty , is that an aftermarket aerofoil of sorts on the rear roof area of your car,and if so where did you get it?
  9. I can’t see how anyone can have confidence at the micro -level without having an oil analysis done. Everything else will just be someone touchy feely ideas of what is happening……..really useless dribble. Additionally Load bearing tests may help to determine one aspect of oil properties but the cleaning properties may not present. How do you determine the damage done by wear that may not show up for many years ahead? You can’t unless you strip the engine down regularly and do proper micro measurement. Personal opinion is relevant but the information is so vague it can’t be relied on. You have member giving comments who give fuel consumption figures by only how far they drive on a tank!not very scientific Other members are stripping down parts and drilling components and are obviously very, very knowledgeable on these aspects, which are to be highly valued. I look forward to siksII posting the information to help everyone and give some certainty on this topic 1. Just because an oil looks fine after 10,000k or a years use does not mean the oil is ok ……………or does it? Nobody has ever given me a straight answer on that! 2. Who provides oil analysis in Brisbane or Sydney and what is the cost?
  10. What kind of sheep would you take?
  11. give him a refund the same as they do at Kmart and let him call the authorities then call the police and tell them he is harassing you and tell him that as well
  12. What does that mean and is it a good thing in practice?
  13. Is $14 a quart for Royal purple a normal price?Nothing within a 1000k of me
  14. Looks like I asked the wrong question.I guess thats why we have forums . Whats the difference between a motor being a Neo and Non Neo motor
  15. you may not have the option for a tow bar to be fitted depending on the material for an attachment. A custom fit for my skyline was $550 plus $129 for a bike carrier, plus $55 for a whooping big spanner to remove the bicycle carrier but now I have the option to pull a trailer so the family bikes go in the trailer and on the bicycle carrier
  16. One needs to distinguish truth from fiction on the internet. best to do your research but Chris has my vote. Goodluck and let us know how it went.
  17. What physical driving characteristics would be noticed( or other aspects) between the VQ25DET engine and Neo VQ25DET engine in a M35 Stagea 2002 "a NEO engine is classified as a low emission vehicle (LEV) engine due to their lower fuel consumption and emission output. The NEO head featured solid lifters rather than hydraulic, revised camshafts and a revised inlet manifold, in particular the RB25DE NEO which had 2 inlets going into the inlet manifold. The combustion chamber of the head is smaller, so GT-R spec connecting rods are used to compensate. The turbo received the larger OP6 turbine."
  18. Australianwarehouse the distributor of JTG direct injection inform me it takes about 40 hours to get the car set up properly, their employee someone who is very good and that is there deducted job day in and day out . They then are confident to sell the system to the installer. This was very disappointing to hear if I am the only 2002 stagea series 1 owner wanting to go direct injection. JTG or the installer wont spend those hours on me unless there is a more substantial return from other stagea owners. Emery Injectors for a system supplied by Australianwarehouse using SVI looks like the way I will reluctantly go but am waiting on more information to be supplied. The sales rep was very excited about this particular system but then again that's his job. Also look at aluminum tank construction if space is a concern.
  19. How can you distinguish a series 1 and series 2, R33. Mine is a 1996 and i think there was a change in that year but don't know what the difference is. I have no rear wiper.
  20. Will it work easily in an er33 GTS 2500 skyline
  21. if you have already lost point I don't like your chances even so the above post is excellent advise. if your job depends on it see a lawyer. You are depending on the expertise of a govt dept which would seem to reduce your responsibility in the eyes of a reasonable person. i bet there is no case law on your particular incident. It shits me when the bureaucracy doesn't take responsibility for its actions. Your case is not so black and white
  22. If thats it I would do it for you for free but I wont be in brisbane until next 2011.
  23. Depends how many jets you have ! But I think somewhere between 5% and 10%
  24. 'goods on oils' was read thoroughly but I believe a lot of responses are from those who race and use oil for extreame race condtions rather than normal driving . They then use the oil for a short duration . I am not so concerend about getting the individusal best oil but concerned with sticking to the post topic. This is my second attempt to attach a pole for this thread .
