  1. I run a 3 channel Link Electro Ignitor with leads and Mitsi Evo 3 coils. This setup works flawlessly for me and was reasonably cheap to setup.
  2. RIPS dont actually tune their own cars, Infomotive in Rotorua does it last time i checked. They do the build and setup, and by all means do it well, but they dont tune. SpeedSource in Warkworrth have a great reputation, but ive used both Infomotive and Torque Performance before, and speaking from first hand experience would say go and see Robin @ Torque Performance in Avondale. Dave @ D Tech in Tauranga also has a great reputation and tunes all around the country. Im running a G3 link (quite similar to a g4) and think its great so definitley go for that. There are few tuners in NZ who will reccomend a Microtech so i dont know where you got that idea.
  3. Im one that will also go with a "your attitude is shit" comment. You blatantly tagged the s2000 and caused it to hit the wall. Bad strip or not, your car was poorly setup and you caused them to crash. Instead of fixing your car and bragging about that great time, you should be fixing theirs. I run these same tyres on my car doing an 11. So do a lot of guys i know running 10's and 11's and they are ok to run with a radial (i dont think its reccomended however) but anything under 9psi is getting horribly dangerous in my experience. 7.5psi on an unprepped track is asking for trouble. Ive done well over 100 runs on the strip with slicks and these tyres are pretty hard to drive for a start, but psi that low is absolutely nuts. Friends with dedicated drag cars rarely run that sort of psi on prepped tracks in the middle of summer.
  4. Hi mate, i see your also from NZ. Where did you get one from here>?
  5. where can you get these sandwich plates from>?
  6. Where on the block would you suggest T'ing into then? This all just sounds a little extreme as if im tapping into the block, i really need to pull the engine out to do so. Any other ideas? Cheers
  7. Bit of a simple question, but im hoping a nice easy answer will pop up. Ive got an rb30det in my cefiro and would love to mount up an oil temp gauge. I had great plans of welding the fitting into the sump, until i jacked the car up and realised I would near on have to remove the engine to do it. Where have you guys mounted your gauges? I dont have an external cooler so unfortunately thats out of the question, + have no need to remove my engine for sometime. Im also not confident draining the sump and then drill it up without taking it off. Any ideas??? Thanks Byron
  8. For your info, it costs about 240k NZD to retank a servo including 24 pumps etc. Im a banker and a client is retanking his servo at the moment. Tanks are no different for biofuel mixes from what he says.
  9. It sounds like you are enjoying some of the oh so common overheating and cavitating problems that 044's do. A fuel cooler is meant to help quite dramatically, however it hasnt worked in my application.
  10. mines a poverty spec rb20e 89 model. automatic though so it could be to do with the auto trans????
  11. I did this conversion in my car and it was a piece of piss and fitted easily. The whole engine bolts in easily, but i changed the intake (incl injectors etc) and ran the rb20e intake with injectors on the stock computer. It didnt run particularly lean and still ran perfectly when i pulled it out to replace it with a head with an extra cam and big turbo. Better still, it looks completely stock and flew through warrants. Ive got some more details in the cefiro thread on my car
  12. try mitsi lancer/evo connectors. worked well on my sard injectors
  13. whats the one in the drivers kickpanel?
  14. just drill out the 4 stud hubs on the front and put new studs in. the rears are easy enough to do with r32,r33,z32 na, s14, s15 ect rears
  15. Thanks 2rismo. I have one here sitting in front of me. Trying to find the adaptor piece that goes from the gauge to the bottle doesnt seem that easy though. How essential are those pieces? For a small 40/60 shot setup is it worthwhile the additional 260ish for the warmer and 200 for the purge?
  16. A bit offtopic, but you guys in Aussie get so reamed compared to us here in NZ. Ive got a 300kw engine in a car that originally had around 100 and have little problems getting a normalwarrant of fitness done every 6 months. I hope it doesnt turn out like that here.
  17. skylinekid. i hope this and your membership to these forums gets canned, because you are one complete moron. i dont think ive come across someone like you on these forums. hopefully i wont again.
  18. How essential is it to run a purge and also a bottle warmer, for say a 60hp shot? Im toying with connecting the nitrous setup i have in the garage up. I would only use it during summer (occasionally at night drags) so i was thinking a bottle blanket may be ample. I dont need fast spool, so was hoping not having a purge would create a bit of a delay. Any advice?
  19. Mines not the injector O rings that are the problem, rather the O ring between the fuel filler and the tank has swelled and no longer seals. The car is a 1990 but even a brand new nissan o ring seems to swell up and fail to seal. Perhaps their manufacturing changed in the r33 series of cars?
  20. Anyone encountered any of my O ring issues in their setups?
  21. Vipec is actually designed and made in NZ. It seems the Supra guys have the same issues with the USB drivers for the laptop. My Link seems to work on some laptops, and not on others.
  22. In theory yes, however ive got a nice trickle of fuel running out of my tank so id presume the swelling is effecting the seal. Ive tried 3 or 4 different seals and seating is easy when you look at the way the ring sits in the tank. There is a slot especially for it. Cheers
  23. Have any of you guys had issues with O Rings swelling due to the use of this biofuel. Im in NZ and we only have E15 at this stage. Ive purchased brand new o rings, and replaced the whole pipe and clamps going into my fuel tank, however the O ring is still swelling and the thing leaking. I enjoy having the biofuel as it sure smells better with a surge tank than normal 98 fuel, however its annoying when i cant put more than half a tank of gas in my car. Any ideas? Cheers
  24. If you want people to reply to your thread, you perhaps want to have a look at your attitude!
  25. Ive been reading a lot of reviews about Synapse Wastegates and a local tuner here is a big fan. Has anyone on the forum used the, and what success have you had? Even on their own forum, there seems to be people having quite a few issues with them. Any info would be great. Hearsay probably isnt going to help either.
