bit over $300. I think it depends on the condition a bit as well. I have one egg shaped wheel, two buckled and one twisted.
-
lol, is that like 250rwkw is the new 200rwkw.

The rim repair guy is down the gold coast, his name is Noel 55376380. Price was really good. I just gave him all four wheels. Nice to not have that vibration anymore. I think they got damaged from age, potholes and ripplestrips. She has been off the road for a while, the car was perfect until I started some mods that didn't go so well. But all of that has been sorted now and I have a two stage plan with Mick to get her where I want. Can't wait. I have missed so many cool events.

Hey Guys, I'm excited to report that Buffy is almost back to normal. (yes my cars name is Buffy the V8 slayer, I've watched early 1990's Bathurst reruns one too many times lol). Anyway, I have had all four mag wheels rolled and repaired to get them round again. The process damaged the outside lip of the wheels so I painted them black. Not too sure if I like it or not at this stage and I am contemplating painting the rims just black. Any comments ? The guard has also been fixed and looks great. Just need to give her a full polish now. Yesterday I was at Mick's from Signature Performance and we changed every fluid in the car. The front and rear diff oil was a bit burned along with the gearbox oil, the engine oil was bad and the 4WD oil was yuk. We did the proper bleed using the wire under the kicker panel to run the 4WD pump. The flow was sad for the first few runs of the pump but as the new oil came through the flow also improved. I'm hoping to notice a better response from the 4WD system next time I hit the track. So next is a catch can and a tuning session on the dyno. Then I should be right for track day. On the handling front, I have front camber adjusters coming and should be ready. I'll probably run the street tyres at the track to get a baseline of where I'm at. Many of you know this has been a long process getting her back running. I can't wait to get into some cruises etc once she is all sorted.

Sounds good Dave, I think I can make it with family in tow.

I think the Exec committee are having a jam about the snag sizzle. The day is fast approaching. Looks to be huge. Can't wait.

Everyone is welcome to come out and watch. It would be great to have a SAU crew out there.

Hey guys, looks like a great line-up. Time for me to pay up and become a real member. Car is also running, so I'm up for participation again !! If there is anything I can do to help the events committee in regard to an "SAU" reserved group at track day etc I'm happy to help. I have next years dates already. Let me know. Paul On a side note, is there a dinner next Tuesday. This is the first Tuesday I've had free for ages.

The event is closing in fast. I'll get the groups organised and posted up on the site soon as well. Plus I want to try and get a remote computer in pit bay 1 with the lap times and best laps on it for the drivers and my big sign showing the trap speeds live for the 'audience'. Bit more tech for the day. The shoot-out is gearing up as well with $110 prize for the morning and $100 for the afternoon shootouts so far. Can't wait to see how that event goes. Also did everyone notice I have made the start time 1/2 hour earlier. We have a huge day planned so I want to get it 'live' early. Paul PS: If anyone wants to order a T-Shirt I have now got them all at my place. I've got some XXXL as well in white and black for those who asked. Just send me a PM.

I tried to organise a driver training track day but didn't have the numbers. Now that there are many more people in the track day group I may try again next year. Might post an expression of interest. On the HICAS side, it was put there for the everyday driver to feel good cornering. For the hard core racer it makes the tail end feel loose and interfers with your perception of the traction limit. By the nature of its operation it messes with the settings in the rear end. Like everthing in mtorosport there is not one answer that suites everyone. I'd say if it makes your cornering feel better its a good thing, if it makes you feel uncertain about whats happening in the rear end then put in a locking bar.

Probably would not be a problem on the Clubman or the Sprint.

That's right. I run track day and use AASA not CAMS. There are heaps of clubs around like SPARK, MG Car Club etc that are CAMS affiliated and will give you the membership you are after. Paul

I'm going to have to cancel, something came up. Sorry.

I think all the AWD cars on the circuit being grouped is ok. The GTR's, EVO's and WRX's run similar times. Changing the engine capacity cut off to 2.4 on the rear wheel drives is closer to the comments above with the 1.7 scale factor on turbo's. Turbo / Super charger = Engine Capacity * 1.7 1. AWD 2. RWD greater than 2.4 liter engine 3. RWD less than 2.4 liter engine 4. FWD I think what is being under credited is that no matter what car it is and how it is setup, the driver plays a major part in the lap time. We have guys driving the same car who run lap times seconds apart. Guys bring out their cars prepared they way they want within their budget restrictions and put down a lap time. Depending on where you are on the skill / budget line places you in the time chart. This is what a class structure cannot truely capture. Guys in every class will be at different levels of tuning and commitment to the circuit. Whether you stripped your car of weight or run semi slicks instead of street tyres is an indication of intent. If you have less intent then you will be lower in the results. I don't think this is a bad thing. As maccattack said, putting a mark next to someone's time, but not creating another class, is probably the fairest way to differentiate the cars. Determining what is a race car may be a new topic of discussion.

Shot itself in the foot ? I think those noise requirements are forced upon them. No motorsport facility volunteers to be quite.
-
Yea its all tured out for the best. I have already started discussions about taking track day there. Looks to be an exciting year coming up.
-
I like where this is going. How about: 1. The front page top ten is the Best of the Best. Turbo / Super charger = Engine Capacity * 1.7 2. FWD 3. RWD less than or equal 2.0 liter engine 4. RWD greater than 2.0 liter engine 5. AWD Sub Classes: A. Street / Semi-slick (DOT tyres) B. Slicks

My name is Paul and you guys are funny. I'm out, I sent my rims to be rolled. I am pretty close to having my car back ship shape though, so I hope there will be lots of fun SAU stuff to do over the summer period.
