  1. I have built the timing gear. It is hard real time to 1/1000th accuracy. I print to 1/100th on the session sheets. The main laptop in the timing room, the beam at the track, sign and hand controller are all radio linked and run off batteries. It also measures the air temperature and track temperature and prints it on the end of day sheet so you can see the conditions at every set you run. The extras that I will be bringing back now that the beam is 100% sorted out are: 1. The giant electronic sign that shows lap times to the spectators live as the cars pass the start/finish line. 2. The pit hand controller that allows the pit lane marschall to order each session in best lap running. It also lets him edit the next session so it is ready to go once the track clears. Paul
  2. There is no Boo Boo, lol. I put all the times up there because a few guys said they wanted to see everything not just their best. I will have the latest hall of fame sorted out in a few days, once everyone has had a chance to grab whatever they want from that data. Paul
  3. I guess I got a commitment to the truth. lol.
  4. Sounds like a Road Trip in the making. Throw in a few Touge runs on the way and its the ultimate holiday.
  5. The next Track Day will be on September 12. Details will be emailed out shortly. Anyone not on the list make sure you PM me your email address to get involved. The full track results will be up on the web site shortly, check them out. www.timeattack.com.au I will update the Honour List shortly also. Paul
  6. Hey Guys, thanks to everyone who came out. It was the biggest day so far and I think it ran the smoothest. The timing gear was spot on again, so it seems the problems are solved. I will have the times out soon. I will get the big sign showing live lap data back running now as well. When you guys are talking tyres, think Semi Slicks, not full slicks as I don't think we do enough laps to get slicks to temperature. The guys I have talked with (who have tried slicks) say they are pretty skatey while warming up. Also I have had a lot of good feedback about the Sportsman track we tried at the end of the day. So I think we will run it again. Paul
  7. Rain will be kinder on your clutch
  8. Why didn't you just say Nankangs. lmao. Yea they are junk. I had a set once, worst tyres I have ever driven on. Azzurra, I know mid week is a bit inconvienient, but its about the only way a small track day like ours has a chance of getting the track. Last year I tried to get a weekend and in December the entire year was already booked out. Plus the cost is heaps more.
  9. That clutch will need to be babied, short shifting etc may extend the life a bit. Keep the load down. Hey predator, I hope those tyres have good tread on them. You guys are making me nervious. Paul
  10. The helmet needs to have an Australian Standards sticker on it. No burn outs from the pits and the clutch may hold together Your right about the turn out, its going to be a huge day !! Hey Patrick, you sound keen to do an afternoon shift in the timing room, I'm a volunteer down atm
  11. I thought you would love to step up to the challenge ?
  12. When I want all you can eat steak I buy a beast and fire up the Spit. Nothing like watching the animal go round and round for a few hours while you baste it in butter. Mmmm
  13. They need a locking bar to do it properly. The guys who don't have the locking bar just start the car and assume it aligns the rear. Call Scott at Tyrezone Capalaba, he has ramps for extra low cars.
  14. Can't beat the all you can eat pizza night !
  15. Hey Guys I have updated the starting list (a few posts back). Huge turn out of SAU !!! Great to see. Paul
  16. I think a lot of guys are coming to the July 4th track day, as there will be a great show of Skylines there !! Check the other thread for the list.
  17. Give Scott from TyreZone in Capalaba a call on 3245 6125. Tell him Paul from track day sent you and he will look after you. Paul
  18. Thats the spirit !! Sorry I have not answered these earlier, I have been away on testing for work.
  19. Hey Space_Ninja, how did I miss your Name to Alias match up. Send me a PM of who you are so I can get you in the SAU group. Paul
  20. Hi Noddy, The morning session is booked out, but there are about 5 spots free for the afternoon. Its not a Skyline's only day. All cars are welcome.
  21. Yea Ben thanks for organising the night, it was great.

  23. What is the application ? Street, track, touge ?
  24. I think I read an article in a recent ZOOM magazine that said it wasn't worth the hassle as the R34 gearbox is no stronger than any of the others. Your probably better off going with plan A and putting tuffer running gear in the box you have now.
  25. Please add me as well. Thanks. Paul
