Hi, The unit is much more than a switch. A previous discussion thread is at: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...126694&st=0 Something maccattack and I started to work on was its ability to setup two different styles that can be selected at the flick of a switch while racing. If you read is comments above, he was running one setup around turns 1 & 2, flicked the switch on the way to turn 3 and then back again after exiting turn 6 approaching turn 1 again. Each of the 5 maps in the unit can be vaired to fine tune the performance. For example, one map is the same as the usual dial you get and the adjustment of that map is like turning the dial. The other maps vary the performance based on the cornering loads. Check out the manual I have attached for a full description. It also has a datalogging output of the longitudinal and lateral G forces as well as the percentage of torque split seen on the gauge on the dash. maccattack will have some pictures up of the install in his car shortly. A few guys at track day had a look as well. I'm pretty excited about the development of the project and the good results we have had so far. I mean maccattack took almost a second off his lap times on his first outing with the unit. I think there is definately more to come ! Paul 4WD_Controller.pdf

You are right, there was a trap speed at the start / finish line. The speeds recorded were about 10% fast on the day. I am still calibrating the system. It should be spot on next track day and I plan to have my big electronic sign back showing the trap speeds live. I haven't recorded the data in an easy format for publishing, although I do intend to mail everyone a timesheet in PDF soon which will have the trap times on it. Paul

There was a little oil on the track as well apparently.

Hi Guys, I'm glad you all had a great time. It was a great day out. The volunteers did a fanstatic job of getting back the lost time due to the puddles in the morning. Everyone got their full contingent of laps. Top job guys !! These photo's are excellent. If anyone has a set they want to send to me please do. I am working on getting my gallery up and running soon. The web site is now up as well www.TimeAttack.com.au and I will put all the results from yesterday up soon. Also thanks to everyone who bought a track day T-Shirt. Thanks again for the support. Paul

Still make sure you come out even if you don't intend to drive if its raining. We have been out there and its raining in the morning and dry by lunch time. The weather is different out there to Brisbane proper. As SirSkyline said, the wet days can be very good. And Dave is right, tyres don't get munched as bad, engine temps are never a problem, brakes don't overheat. The thing is you have to go out with a sensible attitude, and I'd say all our guys do that. That's what our track day is all about. At the end of the day you, and you alone, have to be comfortable with the wet track, if you are unsure then don't go out. $120 is not much to lose. Its a personal choice. Don't feel pressured, as these guys are just joking around. Paul

lol, cancelled if raining. Your too used to Qld life. If they cancelled track days when it rained they would run 3 days a year down south In all seriousness. We will go ahead as usual if it is raining. The only time a day is cancelled is if the conditions are dangeous such as no visibility. Paul

Brocky was the man. I could not believe it either. I think they should have a huge tribute at Bathurst this year. He was king of the mountain.

Sorry Dave I had to pass on the XXXL size. They wanted minimum of 20 T-Shirts in each size. I am really looking forward to seeing the T-Shirts out there, start to give the day its own identity as well !!! Azzurra, if you are unsure about your helmet just give the track a quick call. You can rent a helmet on the day as well if you need to. Paul

Yea Col, volunteers at 7:30am to help get the day underway. It is looking like the T-Shirts will be ready as well. These will be cool, race sponsor style. $20 for drivers and $25 for anyone else. Limited edition !!! Paul

Hey Guys, The running list is up: www.TimeAttack.com.au I think its going to be a great day!!! Paul PS: If anyone can help out J-Boy taking an extra few sessions I'm sure he will be very happy!!!
-
Ok, sorry my mistake. Braided lines always makes me think of brakes. In the other case, keep us posed as I have some under bonnet braided lines that need redoing.
-
Looks like I'm going to just miss this. Will probably have the clutch and brake master cylinders fixed but the CV boot is next weeks job
-
Not sure a DIY kit is going to meet the ADR requirements. Getting them fitted isn't all the expensive anyway, I believe. Last thing you want is a DIY failure on the brakes !!

Morgan Park And Other Track(lakeside?) Track Days.
MountainRunner replied to J-Boy's topic in Queensland
I'm working on something as well for Morgan Park. As for Lakeside, that is still a wait and see who wins the management of the facility. They did a few trial days etc, but atm nothing is happening there. If it becomes possible we may go there too. Paul -
Yea the steak was great. Thanks for organsing. You guys are forum die hards, posting here straight after getting home !
