I vote = new turbo and give me the R33 for further testing! See if I can

Easy! take the actuator rod off and it should move freely

Might be worth a try reading your last post as the greater opening of the wastegate gave you an extra 1000rpm! You might have a sticky wastegate. Unknown history! Time to buy supplies for origin! C U next week sucker! :laughing-smiley-014:
-
Hey mate, I forgot to say at work, have you tried wiring the wastegate fully open and giving it a run? because if it still over boosts with the wastegate fully open with a direct pressure feed to the waste gate, you'd have to draw the conclusion that the wastegate port is insufficient! just a thought that hurt!

pics?

Pics say a thousand words!

Thats what I mean! I know they're on the early models and with modification they look like yours. I did it for my friend but I have amber ones and want the clear ones so I can do the same!
-
As the title states I'm after the front side indicators in the early model clear lenses If you have a set or know of someone, let me know!

I'm talking about the spring type noise that occurs throughout the sweep of applying the clutch! I'll confess that I am a mechanic and haven't spent much time on it but it annoys the hell out of me! It is usually where the slave cylinder push rod contacts the release fork or from the pivot point of the release fork itself. Mine is coming from the slave/fork contact point but I cleaned it and it was still their(as usual) but then a lubed it with a few different types of grease and each time it would go away for a little while, then return with avengence! I have heard quite a few other R32's with this same problem so, has anyone managed to actually fix this problem? I was even going to try coating the pushrod end in someother plastic to change the composition of the friction that is evedent with the standard set up. Actual fixes would be most apprecciated

Noisy Gearbox After Installing Short Shifter?
ellie replied to PAV34's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
And If it isn't a genuine C's shifter it won't have the anti-vibe/noise compound in it! -
Stage 2 Of "the Return Of Boostmeister"
ellie replied to BOOSTMEISTER's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I'll throw in my 2 cents! I have to test drive multiple cars everyday to see how they feel. When I had a look around I drove several stock standard RAWS complied R32's and R33's. Personally, I thought the R33 did feel weighty in general driving and in the handling. It also didn't feel like a turbo but more like a large motor and with a dull interior and to me, a boring skin so I steared away from it. That said, it was standard which run next to no boost! In my friends R33 with a little boost and all your normal breathing mods on a motor no were near as weezy as the RB20 it transformed into an entirely different beast! The R32, Felt more sporty to sit in, the handling felt more crisp, although the R32 interior is still quite bland it had a more purposeful feel (sparse almost), In genaral the entire car felt quicker to drive! Although almost all import mags I've read (including HPI skylines special edition) come to the conclusion that an R33 is the best chioce! my friend bought an R33 with cat back and I bought an R32. We decided to have a couple of runs at the test and tune which resulted in him beating me by a bonnet in the first race and then we swapped cars and I won by a bonnet and a wing mirror! although they were relatively equal, I love the way my car felt because it has no balls but then you get a push in the back and to me (although it clearly wasn't) felt much faster. Were as my friend love his car because it performed almost effortlessly! To me personally, my car feels faster when in fact it is slower! Go figure. Because I mod to enjoy the process as well as the rewards and don't chase dyno figures how the car feels was what sealed the deal for me! So it comes down to what you want out of the car! -
I really like the first photo with the lancer! The dirty alley way with the bin makes the cheap and very common car look puposeful and some thing you'd expect some gangster to slink out a back door and turn key, lights on and gone. Like the R34, it gives the gut feeling of a well trained but restrained killer in an armarni suite! lokks to clean to be there but can handle itself. I'm so like, out there man P.S. nature shots to me are just lame.To soft. I'm not arty but if you're going to take a picture of a machine, i think cold, harsh man made back grounds do the most justice

Don't tarnish all imports with the same brush! If I was at uni, a GTR would be the last car on my shopping list too. But when my brother was at uni I found him a warmed over EP82 starlet GT for 8G which hauls and three years on is still going strong! He hasn't had to spend a cent other than the servicable items which i've looked after because he doesn't flog it! Would have been a struggle to find a locally delivered car of equal standard and options Sorry, off topic, please continue

No worries buddy! Although I didn't do much but kick you in the arse! Killed two birds with one stone too! Thats a good days work. 1 rattle down, 27 to go hey?
-
Helpful tip #46 = Put a smear of high temperature bearing grease on the threads of the spark plugs when replacing! Makes it a hell of a lot easier to get them back out next replacement!
-
Well i'm not going to go to nuts cos it's sunday but it looks like there are three screw that hold the swivle plate but the actual pivot point (which is what I thnk is loose in yours) seems to be behind the mirror assembly itself. And the combination being flimsy things to pull apart and i've lent my body manual out means that i'm not going to attempt this. You'll just have to find out how the mirror seperates from the assembly because i've seen many different set ups from pop off to slide down pop both bottom clips out and slide the top out! I think their is a tutorial on fixing an R33 wing mirror so maybe thats worth a look! The rest should be very simple = screws and bolts etc. which i'm sure you can handle.
-
Pop the little cap off underneith the mirror and have a look and i'll do the same!
-
Has anyone used the Just Jap one? And does it have the anti-vibe/heat material in it?
-
Or you could fix your bloody mirror you lazy bastard AzzurA! LOL!

I'd have to agree with ferni here! If you worry about your car it would pay to get a "quality" (not a "I think I know everything") mechanic to do a thourough check over and put your mind at ease. I see cars ever day where doing simple things like checking tyre pressures and levels saves people literally thousands of dollars down the track! Moral of the story = regular servicing and if it needs some thing (don't always believe that it does so get them to explain why) don't skimp and do it! Primarily, YOU bought the car for YOUR enjoyment so get out their and enjoy it! GTR was marketed as a race car for the road and is one tough piece of machinary! If you were rapped in cotton wool your whole life you'll be very safe but what a boring life! I baby my cars a bit more than I should but it's kept them in great shape and when I feel like it I can give it a squirt without a second thought as to wether it can handle it because it's well maintained and moded to handle more than my driving skill can push it to.

I don't know if anyone remembers the clubman in hot4's a couple of years ago but it was a puma clubman with an SR20DET in it. Well My friends uncle made one up for a total cost of $24,000 but he was an engineer and has access to metal and plastic fabrication equiptment. It tokk him a while and as said before, there was a fair amount of custom work but for a $6,000 out lay you got the chassis, suspension set up and fully preped to drop the mottor in and a heap of "suggested" items to fit for an optimal result. But when my friend and I felt the result, I'm a recked man as nothing else will compare. I timed 0-100km/h in 3.8 sec = wild (on semi's)
