So what your saying is when I raise the car and tighten the springs in the coilover the springs aren't any harder as they are progressive? -
Whiteline rear swaybar install
Reedy replied to Reedy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Thanks for the help. -
Is this the correct way to setup a whiteline rear swaybar on an r33 gtst it the only I can see to use all the nuts.

The PFC boost control kit does not have rpm based boost control like the avcr as I got one installed last week and did get some boost fade.

I had my damper on 8 and porbably to hard for road going to soften it a bit but still only trying the settings out. I read 4.0 kgf/mm in the manual but it is in Japenese. -
I've got same car I just got some tein super street coilovers for about $1700 straight from Japan. Car handling feels very solid no body roll and not to rough over bumps.
-
"Re traction problems, Teins, what's the rear spring rate? Usually I find it WAY to high. Anything over 200 lbs per inch (3.5 kg/mm) is too much." They are 4.0 kgf/mm so maybe the spring are a bit hard

I got some for my r33 gtst last week and I havn't found the ride to hard at all, you definetely feel the bump more and have to slow down on bad road but not uncomfortable. The handling improvement from the standard gtst is like a different car and adjusting shocks makes a large difference for body role. As you lower the car you actually losen the springs, so they are actually softer for lower and harder when the car is higher. -
Not sure what brand but got the exhaust cam gear from UAS said it gave another 5kw and power curve keep on going for a bit longer.
-
Its stock internals except exhaust cam, on 0.9 bar still just as response and enough power. Its IT 50, what does all that stuff mean? BP:99.0 RH:25 AT:39 IT:50 RR:013 TN:3.768 CK:726? I have heaps of wheel spin all the way through first gear, does anyone now how to best set up the car and what tyres to use to get more grip. I have tein super street coilovers set 3cm lower and its shocks at 8 out of 16 also have whiteline handling kit with sway bars and bushes to reduce camber by 0.75 degrees in rear.

I got a GTRS installed last week and tuned on saturday and got 255rwkw at 1.2 bar still have standard air flow meter so should be a bit more in it when I get it retuned with a Z32 or something similar. Other mods are full 3 inch exshaust, FMIC, PFC, nismo 555cc injector, exhaust cam, lightened flywheel and ceramic clutch, spitfire coils and bosch 044 fuel pump. Also great response and enough power to keep me satisfied and scare the sh!t out of my mates, also makes the car sound awesome as well.

Customs Notice on car parts $220?
Reedy replied to Reedy's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
I got a reply from perfect run the declared value is Japenese yen and the duty is correct 15% and GST is 10% of duty plus shipping but he say I have to pay GST "When you order the products, we didn't charge you any GST at all, which means we cannot pay GST. Australian government charges the GST as a part of the import taxes and all these import taxes charged by Australian government need to pay on your side." which I'm still not sure about has it does not say GST not included on website? -
I bought in 2 shipments tein super street coilover $1253 and Nismo 555cc Injectors $939 as the weight was to large for 1 shipment through Perfect Run www.perfectrun.com.au; Shipment 1. 3 of Tein Dampers + Nismo injectors: shipping costs = A$313 Shipment 2. 1 of Tein Damper: shipping costs = A$154 Shipment 1 has ben charged an customs assesment notice with; Declared Value US57000 Customs Value A$718.79 Customs Duty $107.82 GST $112.93 Amount Due $220.75 Do I have to pay all this? Is this amount fair customs duty is 15% of value seem to be coorect? Do I or perfect run have to pay the GST as it does not say on the website GST is not included? I have sent perfect run an email as well and am waiting on them to reply.

Got a wolf 3d plugin on a R33 gtst and it fried 3 coils over the last few months and is also misfiring on boost above 10 psi. I just found out the computer is sending a very high dwell time to the coils of about 16ms at idle then it goes down to 1.5ms at 14psi? The range I think is meant to be about 1.5 to 2.4 ms, I think the tuning is fine as it worked for about 6 months b4 and it just the same now and silverwater people have played with it all again the other night and figured what it was doing but couldn't fix it. Has any one else had this problem or any ideas why other than the wolf is just f*!kin up?

Increased Boost and still misfiring
Reedy replied to QuickR33Melb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Just done another coil last weekend thats number 4, does any one know if something might be causing them to die or just a bit old 1/97 with 100,000km and are all going to slowly die? Cars been running fine at 10psi for last couple of weeks had the following problem at any higher boost, now idles rough as coil is gone, this whats happened from previous thread I posted. "I've got the same problem a misfiring at hi boost (> 11psi) but with different mods on my R33 Gtst with a full exhaust, FMIC, pod, dual port bov. I got a wolf 3d ems tuned last september with a new bosch fuel pump and NGK BCPR7ES sparks set to 0.8mm. Car was running fine at 14psi from a bleeder until march this year when two coils went one after the other, I then thought another coil had gone with misfiring. But coils were fine they had replaced the plugs with autolite App 3924 double platinum plugs but gapped them at 1.1mm I then got them to change it to 0.8mm which I thought made the car run better with not as much misfiring at hi boost (10 psi is fine but much more than that). They also cheaked the heat range of the autolite plugs and the same as the ngk 23-37 i think. I've reduced the overall trim of the ignition timing by up to 5 degrees and it did not make any difference also the battery voltage is almost alway 14 V on the handcontroller during normal usage so I think the battery is fine but havn't checkit under hi load. I reloaded the origimal wolf settings and didn't make a difference so I don't think theres anything wrong with the wolf and I starting to run out I ideas so any ideas are much appreciated." -

"check you intercooler hoses one might be a bit loose and when you hit 9 psi it releases enough air for it to miss (to much fuel) thats my sugestion" Couldn't see and obvious loose hose on the intercooler piping but thanks for the suggestion i'll get someon else to check it out also might change the gap from"Try a lower spark gap - .76 works for me where .80 wouldn't." as mine are only on 0.8. P.S. Also pete unfortunately won't be able to make FD2 got to play rugby, hard after having such a good day at the last one. -
