  1. With supplied parts and fluids: CRD (penrith) : $690 JLM (penrith) : $600 (St Marys) Guy who has been reliable and doesnt BS me : (never done this work before) $90 per hour.
  2. I've rang around a few places to get quotes on the 'major' service with supplied parts and fluids. I've got to admit, most of the quotes have me convinced mechanics are too busy smoking crack with $100 bills and don't want the work. I don't give a stuff what your overheads and problems are. undoing a freaking cover and at worst moving the radiator and unplugable fan does not qualify a grand! what is it going to take a guy 3/4 hours to pull off the stuff, swap out the bearings (idler), water pump and put on the new timing belt? even at a whole day for one guy with all the parts supplied. Either way. If you know a guy who can do the work right and doesnt want to charge me a fortune, let me know.
  3. Never more than 10k markup. wash your mouth out with soap you lying car salesman. Next your going to argue semantics with me.
  4. if 100yen to the dollar, aus dollar is good return since the yen is really high. Its not 1 yen to the dollar, its 100yen to the dollar. If there is only one buyer for goods and lots of goods, then the power lies with the buyer, not the seller, which means that if toyota was alone it could command whatever price it wanted, with only a few players, ref they only assemble here, they don't manufacture anyway, they still command the price they want anyway.
  5. Maybe they should charge the locals less then what they charge overseas for the same car rather than the other way around.
  6. 25k, your in 33r territory. It would be a rare person to buy a gtt for R money.
  7. zif not call the 07 cars the sexiest bitches of the modern era!
  8. 20 year old performance car or reliability. Pick one. You don't get both.
  9. I was going to say, sounds like all of them were idiots, someone doing a uturn where they shouldn't (blind spot), someone hammering where they shouldnt (lots of people and blind spot), and someone driving a vehicle when they shouldn't (rego etc), then I thought, do I care if darwin eliminates the shitheads. Nup, good work old mate.
  10. The 10th iteration comes with an automated manual (sst) and a 55L tank? Op is talking about performance AWD so fuel consumption didn't cross my mind as a massive concern no? Seems like a decent daily driver with some excitment and allot of traction (safety) controls which would be awsome for a safe family car. It comes with fantastic braking capabilities, allot of airbags etc. Naturally being so heavily loaded with safety features, it needs a bit more stonk to get around so it has an more econmical turbo engine (when compared with a comparably powered V8), with a high compression ratio for easy of boost driving (lol).
  11. thats all done, but if I turn right it leans on the left tyre and scrubs a bit, it doesnt take a great deal of weight transfer to get it to scrub either. Turning left and weighting up the right hand side, not a single problem, corners like its on rails, is so much fun its insane, but turning right requires me to go slow as. Anyone got any ideas where to start. If you say pedders in penrith, I'm liable to shoot you.
  12. Lancer evo. Can stop pretty quickly. Had 4 doors, has auto for long drives, paddles for fun times, doesn't need snow chains, can be fun to drive or a family tug. Its what I'm going to buy as my family vehicle.
