  1. Did you and the above mentioned tuner test the Fuelstar products using the stringent test procedure outlined by Fuelstar? Why doesn't every OEM install a Fuelstar/Broquet from the factory?
  2. No. RB20 big end is 48mm. RB25/26 big end is 51mm. The length may also be different. I am waiting on a sample RB20 rod so that I can compare.
  3. The Broquet website says nothing different to any other fuel catalyst. I call shennanigans
  4. Heres some pics people might be interested in: All above are from the Ferrari 049 engine (year 2002). Some features of the pistons & rods: *Very thin rings *The oil feed to the gudgeon pin goes up through the centre of the rod. *The rod is for a V type block, in the 5th photo you can see that the rod material around the main bearing goes right down to the bearing, but on the other side (most of the other photos) there's a large 45° angle, which is for crank radius clearance. *96mm bore x 41.4mm stroke *119mm long conrod, centre to centre *Rod/stroke ratio of 2.87:1 (!!!! A typical road engine is more like 1.7:1 or so) *19mm gudgeon pin dia *42-43mm big-end bearing dia *~40mm dia inlet valves *34-38mm dia exhaust valve *The rods are titanium, coated to stop reactions. *The rod bolts are probably made from the most exotic material out of all the parts shown

  6. It looks like it worked pretty much how I was expecting. Even if the results were positive I would still not be convinced that these products work. The most noise is made about improved fuel efficiency, however for a passenger car it is almost impossible to accurately determine whether there is any real improvement. There are just too many variables that cloud the results.
  7. -Joel- I had to cut my previous post short...but what I was going to add is... In warpspeeds posts in the linked thread above, he spends a lot of time describing bypass systems used for improving both the economy and driveability of supercharged systems. He also makes comments wrt the benefits of superchargers vs turbos for road cars. I thought his comments on controllability and parasitic load (ie economy) would be useful. I don't understand how turbo's couldn't have a parasitic load. It takes power to compress air. This must come from somewhere.
  8. I would love to get warpspeeds thoughts on your comments Joel.
  9. I'll be interested to hear the results because the marketing & salespeople give me a really bad vibe about these products. I think you will find that the manufacturers will do their best to distance your tests from their product if the results arn't positive. They will however ignore any inconsistancies in the testing if the results are good. One manufacturer has a written statement that the type of test you are conducting (ie short term dyno tests) will not produce reliable results.
  10. Why does Jordan want this thread deleted?
  11. CRS do make a kit. My experiance with CRS is that they make some good products and some not so good products. I know knothing of the blower kit but recommend you check it out and choose wisely. Also, Rod Hadfields general disposition doesn't exactly convince you to buy something off him.
  12. There is a good thread discussing this here: http://www.calaisturbo.com.au/showthread.p...ghlight=rb30esc
  13. How about you post up prices like the For Sale rules suggest? This way it is a whole lot easier for people like me who just want to know a price. By the look of the replies, this is what most others need as well.
  14. How much for the engine as a short block? (ie no manifolds or accesories)
  15. Looks like the SDU thread got Jordans attention. I guess we'll have to wait and see what happens.
  16. How about we start by spreading the word to other forums? Hopefully that will minimise the chance of it happening again.
  17. So I guess if this guys broke we won't be seeing his 1500hp engine surfacing for a while? I've also seen Jordan hanging around Performance Forums , Skylines Downunder and Calais Turbo under various names. I'm pretty sure he has been banned from PF a few times and his latest posts are under the nick "700HP" (not to be confused with a different guy who posts at Calais Turbo under 700HP). Maybe you could let these forums know as well?
  18. Wiseco catalogue lists the dimensions as being: RB26 - comp height = 30.0mm - Pin = 21mm RB25 - comp height = 31.5mm - Pin = 21mm
  19. So you have already read all of this thread? -> R33 RB30 Converstion From all reports the RB20 head is a lot of work because it has a much different bore size.
  20. I think its fairly obvious that he has mixed up "cam gears/pulleys" and "camshafts" This is the title of the thread he has linked to:
  21. RB20det rod and piston wanted. Any condition. I only need the these items so I can measure them up, so they dont need to be in great condition but if busted to bits, bent, stretched etc then they're obviously not going to be much use. Cheers, Tim
  22. My question is, do the police even need any sort of reading or can they just estimate your speed and base the fine on that? I have heard the latter is true and if this is the case I would think it difficult to have the fine overturned. However, without knowing the details of your situation (or the finer points of the law), anything I add is just meaningless guesswork (and there seems to be a enough of that in the thread already so why add more).
  23. cmon, someones got to have these bits lying around that they can measure
