  1. hey guys, well i got a Mines tuned ECU, supposed to be already tuned for my setup (came with the turbo kit and all). anyone using the mines ECU's?? some say 'cr*p' others say 'fine'... turbo il be running is a gt2876R. with all supporting mods, i was thinkin of either this ecu or just gettin a Emanage ultimate... as i dont have the money for a full microtech/wolf/link etc. opinions?? thanks CJ
  2. gearbox mounts do wear out.... i wonder if the owner of the car went and got a RWC and his one was worn out so he was told to replace it, and a aftermarket one is generally cheaper and lasts longer then a genuin one from nissan!! i wouldnt be incline to say the gearbox will shit itself at all... kind of different parts we are talking about... if u know what i mean. anyone else got ideas? i know that a worn gearbox rubber will get pickd up on a RWC and be told to get replaced before the RWC gets passed. CJ
  3. i dont think my one had any "power" gains. but i didnt stick it on a dyno after i swaped. but i deffinatly didnt feel any diff :S... anyone like the "Mines" ecu's??
  4. i had one, put it in my 32, was no different then the standard one at first, but after a couple of weeks using it i started to notice i had slightly better fuel economy and no speed limit and rev limit lol. but as r31nismoid said, they can do more harm then good, because you dont know what it was originally tuned for. mines been running in my car now for over 1yr, only cause i havnt gotten around to takeing it out lol.
  5. personally...if your head is crackd id never fix it and re-use it. it will just be prone to cracking again. BUT, could just be ur head gasket, maybe when they put it on the first time they didnt do the job properly...?
  6. thanks mate, as im wanting to find out exact differences so i can buy gearboxs and build them up stronger and sell them off cheaply(if its worth it)... and i need a box for my rb20...my gearbox is about to fall out... doesnt like to much torque lol. (im a mechanic so i can do most the work myself).
  7. give the clutch fluid a good flushing. and dont slam it into gear :S even if the light goes green, only takes a extra 1-2seconds to wait for the clutch to engage... or upgrade ur clutch and pressure plate so it grabs sooner/faster/harder....
  8. is it outa gear? take off the input shaft circlips also
  9. check all earthing wires...did they do much under the bonnet that u can see??
  10. hey guys, just a quick question.. what are the differences internally of the RB25 NON turbo and the RB25DET Gearboxs? (5spd manuals) also same question for the RB30 NA and the RB30 turbo (eg VL turbo) boxes?? i know the Turbo boxes have wider keys in them... but anything else? thanks CJ ps, random question would a RB20 clutch and flywheel suit up and work with a RB30 box?? :S thanks
  11. how about you answer some questions?? :S how does this particular one work? iv seen sparkplug types, fuel squirter types...
  12. he said its not his. lol
  13. yeh, might be ok. did you go last year? constantly changing from sunshine to rain... lol
  14. looks like itl be a wet one again this year....
  15. i didnt think anyone was interested for a while there lol last year was good, but a little annoying with all the rain! Jamezilla: did you go last year? long way to travel from melbourne lol
  16. hey guys, just wondering if any of you are going to Speed on Tweed this year?? for those of you that dont know, its held near Tweed heads just over the border of QLD in NSW. its a street racing event that is only open to PRE-86 cars. you get some big dollar cars turn up (eg, last year, 3 geniun shelby mustangs). il be going, its this weekend. i added some pics from last years event...brocky was spose to be there and had 6-7 of his cars there last year. cheers CJ
  17. anyone...?
  18. yeh i gathered he meant one of the manifolds lol. just... i thought people understood what words to use lol.
  19. but thats the same thing.... im getting confused here ey... how can you have extractors on a turbo'd car!! do you mean ur manifold has had its piping "enlarged" ??? do you mean you have a bigger "dump" pipe? or "front" pipe?? extractors are what you call larger exhaust manifolds on NON-turbo cars...eg, all the commodores/fords etc etc. they run from the block down to the cat. am i gunna get flammed for my confused thoughts here?? or am i not alone? haha CJ
  20. o well since your quite capable of doing this, then sorry about my posts mate, i just wasnt sure if you were a beginner soz but i havnt done that sort of work to my car so im no help to you now lol good luck with it. CJ
  21. am i missing something there? (i am on medication so ) but i still dont see how you can have extractors on a turbo'd car... or do people call extractors something different these days??? lol
  22. you got extractors on your car?? :S better manifold? plenum? :S
  23. i rekon you should have a go at it if you feel up to it. just be awhere problems can arise and those problems CAN mean you'l have to spend more money. CJ
  24. yeh "IF" everything goes to plan (which with cars it doesnt) then it would be a very simple task to just put it all on. but if the dump doesnt line up with the front pipe = slight problem if the cooler piping needs to be modified/moved/lenghtend = slight problem as mentioned, if you snap studs... = slight problem have you got all the turbo's coolant/oil lines? really it wouldnt be to hard, but with all the little problems that "CAN" arise, a 1day job can turn into a few days... have you got a ECU that will suit? or are you using the standard one? gotta also get it tuned... lots of "IF" situations. but if you got the time, and a little extra money in the bank (just incase lol) then yeh go ahead and do it, you'l learn alot. CJ
  25. hey guys, im chasing the to arms that come out of the HICAS bar, the ones that have ball joints on the end of them, i need them in the best condition possible...(the ball joints on mine are f**kd) let us know if you can part with them. thanks o and im located in South-east QLD, but postage wouldnt be to much on them anyway...:S cheers CJ
