With a nismo fuel pump how much power can you run before you need to have a 12v battery in the boot to feed it directly? My tuner was saying if i ran more boost say 18psi or more I should consider doing that. Which would be around 300rwkw. CHeers

Hey guys, I have a bit of an idle problem that has been hanging around for a while since i got my engine rebuilt about 5000ks ago and its still bugging me. Before the rebuild it was fine. Here are the symptoms. When I had the stock ECU when i first start it up in the morning it would idle at like 1800 rpm when cold. When it is warm it would idle usually between 1100-1600rpm. Sometimes up to 2000rpm, but very rarely. If i have the fan or a/c on it would idle at like 2000rpm sometimes. Now my mechanic has checked everything like the aac valve and idle screws but could find nothing wrong with it. So he suggested maybe an ECU problem Now I have got a power FC and the problem is still there but slightly different. When i first start up the car whether warm or cold it goes to 2000rpm, and probably sits there for about 10-20secs and then drops down to like 1400rpm. And once i start driving for a while when i come to a stop, it would only go down to 1800rpm, then after like 5 secs or so, it would drop down to like 1400 to 1100 rpm and stay there. But if i had the a/c on or fans on it would keep idling at 2000rpm. This is really annoying! And i dont know much about the pfc as my tuner installed it and set it up for me. Unique said the idle problem could be something to do with the rebuild. Im not sure what the part was called but he said its in the intake manifold and that it has been cleaned or machined too much and thats why its idling so high. What is going on with my car?? Does anyone have any advice for me?? I really wanna get this fixed up. Thanks everyone!

Hmmmm interesting.. it is very similar. However from what everyone tells me my turbos shouldnt be that laggy and it just doesnt feel that good to drive when i only get fun after 5000rpm.

Well you see i have been going to my mechanic for a while now and i probably trusted him too much. He got them off another workshop and he reckons they are the real deal. But i think i have been had so im going to hassle him out on monday! Well ben and Tim at unique all reckon they arent the right turbos. And i believe em too..

Yeah the top end power isnt too bad but they reckon i am still robbed maybe 10-15kw top end and massively in response. I will see what the problem is with the gate, unique reckon my actuators r fine though. A sticky wastegate? Also i think he did a run bit leaner at one stage at 14.5psi and it hit about 260rwkw. I am still using 440cc injectors at the moment. Hopefully once i fix up this problem i will get some cam gears as well. The head has been polished when it was rebuilt. And r34N1 turbos r meant to be way more responsive hence i am questioning whether they are n1's or not or just the wastegate is somehow stuffed.

Hey guys, I finally got around to getting my car tuned after spending lots of time and money to get it all right but there is always something that isnt right! The guys at Unique autosport said that my turbos r no good and that the wastegate is not opening properly and because of that i dont get full boost till 5500rpm! Kinda like a t04z at the lower end but half of it at the top! Even tho my mechanic reckons they were brand new r34 n1's. Looks like im going to be chasing him down to get some new turbos!! grrr. Hey guys, Got some parts I no longer need so i must get rid of them. -GTR 32 fuel pump - perfect working condition. Only removed not long ago as I have upgraded to a nismo pump. PRICE DROP $100 + postage -Brand new momo gear knob, only opened to have a look as it was a gift - PRICE DROP $50 + postage. Thanks!

Hey guys! I just fitted my greddy profec B s2 boost controller and i am tempted to run about 14psi. Im not using stock turbos so thats not a problem. Going to get it tuned this weekend with a pfc. Would it be safe to run 1bar with the engine untuned? Also do i need to worry about this GAIN settings for boost spikes?? Has anyone else got one of these who can advise me how to set it up properly? Those BeeR rims i had a set ordered from Unique autosport but they said the supplier in Japan are not willing to send them over to Australia or something so i got my money back instead of the rims Looks like these gullflames r my next choice

Hmm i just check the brake fluid and there it is sitting at the half way level between max and min. Wouldnt that only happen when it drops below minimum? But I will top it up and see how it goes

Hey guys in the last few days I have noticed that my handbrake light will come on everytime i do a hard right hand turn. Not left or braking, only right hand turns! And im sure I have the hand brake down before i do right hand turns cuz i think id notice handbrakies I was wondering where the wires are located for the lights and if I can somehow check if a couple of wires are touching when i turn without pulling apart the dash??

Well im pretty sure they checked it cuz i remember they had to send the head back to the guy who was doing it to get the clearences right. The guy who rebuilt mine has rebuilt many rb26's including his own... the tapping isnt really loud but i just dont like the sound of it. my engines done about 5000kms now and hope it will be ok, Im going to talk to him about this when i get it serviced with him soon. Thanks for the input guyz.

Hmm im not sure where the sound is coming from really but I will check that later. I just had the engine rebuilt so I dont think that would be the problem of spinning bearings (well i hope not). I can only hear it when im outside but not in the car and I can hear it more when listening from the side.

My engine seems rather noisy once its warm. When i first start it in the mornin when its cold its nice and quiet but once its warm it a bit louder with tapping sounds. Will changing the oil to something thicker get rid of that?

Hey guys. I need 2 front tyres for my standard gtr 32 rims. Whats a good set of 225/50 R16 tyres would you guys recommend? Im not looking to spend over 200 a tyre. I had a look in the tyre section and how people rated them but I just want ppls opinions for this particular size. Thanks in advance for your opinions!
