  1. Hi Ed... I wouldn't go as far as calling a 318is a shitbox..... and I don't want another turbo car. I do still want a 2 door though. As for that Audi, that looks like half the cars on the road to me I guess I just see things differently : Unfortunately the 325's ( not old ones ) are out of reach $ wise.
  2. I'm just looking at something with a low change-over and the 318is is around the $17-$18 mark. It's not really about the "BMW" thing as much as I haven't seen anything else I like that's not too old and around that money. I've test driven / tried the Holden / Ford / Magna thing & I just can't go do it !! At least the BMW has some style & engineering heritage behind it. And believe me, with a head like mine, I could own a McLaren F1 and still get looked down on
  3. Like I said, I know Audi's are good but for performance but I just don't like the way they look.
  4. Yeah, the 2 door 318 ( E36 ) is the one I'm looking at. Not "really" fussed about leather although it would be nice. The 320i's are still a bit too expensive I think.
  5. lol, a BMW with an RB25 in it....... That would be WAY to hard to resist for mods. I'd be better off keeping the R32. Unfortunately, a reasonably new M3 is way out of my price range. I'm not in IT :O
  6. Forgive me for my sins....... I'll be incredibly honest though. I have a problem with cars that I have to break. Modifications and Upgrades. No joke, I can't stop !! So long as I have the R32 I just can't help myself !! You'll see what I mean when I put the car up for sale I'm hoping that getting into a BMW ( which I don't know too much about and know that mods will be mega expensive ) will help to cure the problem.
  7. So what about mechanical or electrical problems ?? Know of any ??
  8. I'm very tempted to go up to the 2.3L but that depends on $'s. I do like 2 door 320's ( I think that's the model ?? ) As for the Audi's, I know they are a good car but I just don't like the looks of the car !! Almost everything on the road looks like an Audi ( or visa-versa ) to me
  9. 20" Chromies........ LOL !! Come hell or high water the BMW will not be modified !! Well, I'll do my best As for the performance side of things, I know I'll be missing the 300bhp, but that's all part of the rehabilitation program !!
  10. I know this won't be too well received but I've decided that after 11 years of driving Import Skylines it's time to move on. The car I'm looking at getting is a 98 BMW 318is ( up to 2000 model ). Is there anyone on here who knows anything specific about this model that is good / bad etc. ?? Any meaningfull advice would be great. Please hold off on the sledging and Skyline vs. BMW etc. Remember, I've been driving an Import Line for 11 years so I know how good they are. And it's going to break my heart to hand over my keys to someone else
  11. Can Stretch now do the Engineering himself ( in house ) or is he still getting the Engineering done through Werner ( TIC ) ? I agree though..... Best money I even spent too !! Not only to stop from being defected but it's also peace of mind knowing that your insurance is still valid ( as mentioned by AndyMac ) when your car is engineered
  12. Just up the road from you, in Sutherland
  13. Fair enough. Cheers tom_q. My bad. I've always been under the impression that 32mm thick R32 GT-R rotors "will" fit in the R33 GTS-t calipers and work fine. Anyway, Discs are SOLD. Thanks to all who enquired !!
  14. How about a new Clutch Line for YOUR Line ?
  15. If you are asking will they suit a Brembo caliper setup, no they wont but they are now sold pending payment. Thanks to everyone who PM'd. Will notify the next in line if sale falls through.
  16. SOLD
  17. Selling a pair of used ( very little use ) Zeal Straight 6 Rotors to suit R32 GT-R or R33 GTS-t. Was keeping these as spares for track use but I'm not going to use them now. These are awesome discs for those who brake hard frequently. Each disc is directional and designed so that air is drawn in from the centre of the disc and flows outwards. Thickness at the thinest point measured is 31.20mm ( 32mm thick new ). To buy these new you'll be looking at around $600 a pair delivered ( check out perfectrun.com.au ). Asking $200 firm. Prefer pick-up but might be convined to post ( at your cost ).
  18. You just gotta LOVE NISSAN'S !!
  19. So......... This post's been quiet for a while now Jimbo / Stace ?? Any sins to confess ????
  20. No, there were 3 small nicks in the leading edge of the compressor wheel that were blended out. They look worse in the before pic than they really were and they blended out nicely I'm amazed at the subtle differences after the overhaul ! The turbo boosts up quicker and is a lot quieter ( especially when it spools down after turning off the engine ). It makes sense but I just didn't expect any changes.
  21. Make it $160 and I'll throw in the rear pads too. ( postage is extra ). Heaps of meat left on them ( more than the fronts ). THAT'S A DAMN GOOD DEAL FOLKS !!
  22. And here's what it looks like after GCG finished with it
  23. Just thought I'd share this mod that I did ( years ago so I know it works ). Firstly, the idea is to get some air to flow through the coil pack area while keeping the cover fitted to stop crap from ending up in the plug holes. It's very simple but quite effective. Simply remove the upper cam belt cover, use a hole saw to cut one largish hole and then another smaller hole below and then remover the middle bit to make one teardrop shaped hole. Clean up the edges and hit it with some touch-up paint. That parts now done. Now, behind the cam gears is the tin shield seperating the cam gears from the cam valley area ( where the coil packs are ). In there are some louvers ( from the factory ). Just carefully open them up more and the jobs complete. Simple huh Here's some pics of the finished product.
  24. Keep in mind I was planning on winning powerball last night But since I'm still here posting.......
