  1. From what I understand, in something like a turbo diesel patrol these things might work quite well when placed at the inlet of the inlet manifold. There is no throttle body to cause any disturbance, so after the air has come out of the turbo, and through the intercooler, it flows virtually unihibited, all the way to the valves. Aparently, putting one of these things in at the inlet of the inlet manifold causes a cyclonic effect with the air, which allows it to flow into the combustion chamber better than normal. Now, one thing that I think that may come into play with this theory is that a typical diesel engine's max rpm is no more than about 4,000rpm with an emphasis on low end torque, not high end power. With that in mind, the cyclonic effect "may" actually have a chance of making a difference. But with an engine that's pulling 7,000rpm and almost the reverse power requirements, I don't think it would get the chance to make much of a difference. But, imagine building 6 low restriction versions, which sit in your inlet manifold runners, guiding swirling, pressurised air into your engine's combustion chamber. Maybe there's some benefit in that ?!?! I've been interested in the theory for a while so I've done a little investigation but not enough to give any enlightening answers. But either way, I like to consider new things as opposed to putting $hit on them, because "if" you can get something like this to work on turbo-charged engines ( eg RB whatever ) with minor mods required to fit, you might just end up a very wealthy person. Anyway, I just like to banter these theories around, You never know where it might lead
  2. I agree with this 100% Driven cars with Nismo, Cusco, KAAZ and ATS lsd's ( all 1.5 ) and the Nismo was by far the most user friendly diff of the lot. I had an ATS 1.5 LSD in my 32 and yeah, they do quiet down a bit after a long time with the use of a friction modifyer, and yeah you do learn to drive the car a certain way so as not to tell everyone that you've got an LSD. But if I was to do it again, I would buy a Nismo ( or if I had the money I would try an ATS Carbon LSD ) http://www.a-t-s-usa.com/ats-products/lsd-carbon.shtml
  3. I'll also agree about RBF 600. I've always been able to get / maintain a good pedal with this fluid but never with Castrol SRF so I just stick with RBF 600 and I've been happy since ! ( Good price too ) And I'll also second the RDA ( formerly known as EBC Turbogroove ) rotors with the curved venting slots and blind drilled holes. I used them on all 4 corners with EBC Greenstuff on the front & EBC Blacks on the back for the street and they were awesome ! Low dust, great bite, never squeeled and were quite consistent from cold to hot. But yeah, use a EBC Redstuff ( I think ) for track use ( if chosing EBC ). Unfortunatly, I held out to find some more of these for as long as I could and then ended up getting DBA4000's all around. I don't hate DBA4000's, but I don't love them
  4. I'm going to make the following offer but if this doesn't sell the car, I'll just keep it. The car with: - R32 GT-R Wheels - Standard Boot Lid with Wing - Standard Steering Wheel - Nismo Leather Gearknob - Twin Pipe - Cat-back Exhaust $17,000 firm. BTW, The last dyno was done in 2003 and was 207rwkw on 1 bar ( 14.5psi ) and I have the dyno sheet as proof. I can assure you that there's a lot more power to be had from this set-up with a few more mods !! ( if you really "need" more than 207rwkw ?!?! )
  5. In your opinion, is it worth it ??
  6. Will see you all on Sunday. Should be an awesome day !! Not only for the rice cookers but also for the chest pounding V8's looking forward to it !!
  7. And over the weekend the following was done. - Replaced all the Instrument Cluster Light Globes ( 1 died so all got changed ) - Installed the NISMO GT Pro Gear Knob which feels awesome !! Buyer can choose which knob they want - New Platinum Spark Plugs ( Irridium IX ) - Oil and Filter changed To answer a question I was asked via PM ....... No, I don't have this car advertised "anywhere" else. Why ? It's only being advertised here in the hope that it will go to a new owner that will keep it as well as I've tried to ( enthusiast ). If I was hard core wanting / needing to sell it I would have it advertised everywhere.
  8. Rear seats and general interior
  9. Passenger's side.........
  10. More pics for those who asked Driver's side.......
  11. To those that have PM'd me, I have now replied to those PM's and I'll get all the extra info and pics to you soon. I gotta say, now that it's actually looking like my baby will go to a new home I'm feeling pretty sad I wonder if it's natural to feel this much potential seperation anxiety for a car
  12. Yeah, the Nismo Super Coppermix is a VERY popular choice and I've never heard a bad word about them. I'm using an O.S Giken STR2CD and it's very streetable, light under foot and pretty quiet. Gets a bit grabby when it gets warm though ( a bit touchy in traffic ) but 95% of the time it's great !
  13. Same here !! Ritsuko is very good to deal with
  14. All the bolts undo counter-clockwise from memory.
  15. Don't panic....... Pull the fan & clutch off, if you're in Sydney, go see the boys at Just Jap in Kirrawee or SSS in Giraween ( or the like ) and grab a good condition second hand clutch off them !! Just make sure it bolts up to YOUR fan and looks the same ( but better than yours ) and away you go !!! I was a bit suss on my clutch ( fan ) and scored an almost new clutch off an R34 RB25NEO that fit perfectly in my R32 RB20DET fan and works great !!
  16. We used to do that one too. I knew a guy who worked for a dealership many years ago that tried the water de-carbon trick on a customer's supra and got it wrong ( bent 2 rods, lol ). The brake fluid trick was for severe cases and just to clarify, we didn't run brake fluid through the engine while it was running We used to soak the pistons / cylinders for about 2 full days which lifted the carbon build-up. Won't go into the whole procedure because it's illegal and has damage potential if done incorrectly.
  17. I can't imagine it being required for a modern engine and didn't even know people still did it ! Way back in the old days we used to use brake fluid to de-carbon Worked really well but I wouldn't suggest doing it nowdays
  18. Took some more up-to-date pics of the engine bay and put them in the first post The car now has the original boot lid & wing re-fitted ( felt like a change ) See pic. Here's a pic of the engine before it went in. Tasty....... Worth mentioning is that I built this engine ( and the rest of the car for that matter ) to handle frequent track work but it HAS NOT SEEN EVEN ONE TRACK DAY SINCE IT'S REBUILD. NOT ONE !! ( Lost the desire )
  19. So what he should have done is invest in a BN Body Kit, 24" chrome Zeptana's and some pulsing neons maybe ?? There's a Chop project for you ................
  20. Ok, since all you guys have turned it down....... I'LL TAKE IT That looks sexual IMO. And I think when you can blow $8m on a daily driver.....who cares what anyone else thinks
  21. LOL, we have a greek guy at work like that When he get's rather excited and emotional, he tends to speak at a million miles an hour, without taking a breath, and essentially turns into a human sprinkler. Amusing to watch but unpleasant to experience. Although I don't condone the way they behaved, I think we all have a variation of that story to tell. Hell I even had a pretty severe altercation with a business trader on THIS forum but it's all over and done now and I just deal with someone else Anyway, I've found that with TT, you should always try to go there at a more quiet time of the day ( like 1-2pm on a weekday ) if possible. That's usually when things are more calm.
  22. I'm amazed at this !! They SPIT on him ?!?!?! Un f&*#in believeable !! I've purchased about 4-5 sets of tyres through them over the years and never had problems !!
  23. Personal opinion = Now if we were talking about the 2008 Chevrolet Camaro...........
  24. It's kinda still OEM but how about NISMO......... Can get them from Just Jap in NSW, or Ebay, or heaps of other places
  25. Good call/find Howie !! I've had the same stains on my back window since the last Skid Pan day ( they use bore water at the Skid Pans which stains / eats into your car if left to dry ). Couldn't get #4 Heavy Cut ( Meguires told me they don't sell it any more ) so I got #2 Medium Cut and it worked a treat Needed a bit more elbow grease but it cleaned up great. I then used windex/metho to clean the glass and then hit it with a coat of Rainex. Forgot glass could look that good !! Cheers
