  1. My old, oldies (grandparents) are selling there car. They have been the only owners (they bought it new). Edit: its a 5 speed manual its maroon in colour. has some light scratches (attempting to fix before it is sold- but no promises). interior is in good condition. mechanically it runs fine. it has had regular services. Price is $8000 however they are negotiable. if you want some more information PM me however if there is any question i cant answer call (03) 97870557 and ask for Charmaine or Chris. I dont know how to attatch an image on here so if you want to see some photos pm me your email address. Cheers. james
  2. i dont know how fast tyre's get eaten up but im sure you should chuck that on the list of things to pay for over time!
  3. yeah. ive sent out some letters with attatched resume's to a couple of different performance places, but english was never a strong subject so they might read the letter and laugh btw lebostyles: i sent a letter to hypertech, hopefully i'll get a response. thanks for the linky!
  4. slow down augustus! youll give yourself a tummy ache!
  5. oh... how expensive is "expensive"? perhaps ill just have to be on best behaviour to not attract attention? where's the best place to learn about engineers certificate etc so i dont keep asking questions relating to the issue? Vicroads.com??
  6. true. true. ill give it a shot however vermont is a bit far for me.
  7. ^^^thanks for the help however it would be my first year
  8. fair enough. just to make it clear ash, i wasnt being a smart-arse in regards to the "technically i wont be illegal" thing. i still have the standard air box and i wont change it unless the gt-t airbox flows better??? i geuss the only way to get around this is to get an engineer's certificate.... cheers guys. James.
  9. that is interesting..... does any one (more like Sydney kid= any one) know what the throttle bodie diameter for the RB20 is?? cheers.
  10. HIGHLY reccomend the authors seat drive. and its surrounding areas. me and a mate used to go there every now and again. once leaving the top way (i geuss thats the best way to describe it. ie: when youve gotten to the top you keep going) if you keep going in that direction its a great place to cruise. however i get the feeling its a bit out of your way. cheers. james.
  11. true. i should have made that clear. mechanic.
  12. gidday. im looking for a place in victoria (preferably near the frankston area, or a place easilly accecable by public transport...but anywhere really) that specialises in Jap cars to do an apprenticship with. sent an email to Apprenticships victoria still no reply (sending another one soon). im going to give various performance places that are listed here a call when i have the time. anyone who knows anything about the above issue: if you could be so kind to pm me. thanks all. James.
  13. well to be technical ash, I wont be illegal, my car will be... and if the average Mr. jack can't tell its modified then that would please me greatly. everything that gets done to my car will be hidden... so yeah... does it make sense or do you reckon Mr. jack will be able to tell? cheers. james.
  14. indeed, i do know what you mean. like the glossy side has to be facing upward as to make it dificult to see. ill investigate further. does painting it make a huge negative impact on cooling? or is it miniscule? still deciding. thanks for your help mad082.
  15. yeah. ive heard about painting a front mount black. i reckon it will be the way to go. i hear its better for heat transfer? sort of makes sense to me... but would like to know if its definately true. thanks for all of your help guys. cheers. james.
  16. hey all. did a few searches with no success. Well now. i know that theres someone on here who has a 32 or 33 gts-t that uses the r34 gtt standard intercooler, and is running approx 200rwkw. the point is how much can they handle? im going to be running a garret gt2871r and usual support mods. ive been told to expect about 250rwkw running 23psi (i know it alot of kw for the rb20 and that its gunna cost a bit). i would like to run a smic so it appears to be stock. cheers. james
  17. hey dude. i dont think you deserve a flaming HOWEVER! i suggest otherways of learing stuff about cars ie: a: use the search button. (but i struggle with that too) b: car mags, theyre fantastic they have all a man could need (cars, ladies etc) c: www.howstuffworks.com has many useful articles on cars. look into it. d: browsing the forum is good to pick up on things too. cheers . james.
  18. eyyyy.... *fonzie styles* james. ps welcome to the club.
  19. thanks sydneykid. your knowledge is only exceeded by my attractiveness (jokes) cheers. james.
  20. hi all. i did a search with no success. ive heard that for drag cars, soft suspension is better. whats the science behind it? my assumption would be the stiffer the better... thanks. James.
  21. perhaps its the metal warping slightly when it heats up perhaps? ...perhaps...
  22. jeebus. lucky you got it back. im very happy for you. james.
  23. very interesting thread.... i believe jason and his high power claims and 10second 1/4 times... .... however i do feel your a bit agressive mate. if some one is a smartarse or anything like that, i believe you should let it slide and keep your focus on ppl who are supporting you. as hard as it is to practice what i preach. my 2c. cheers. james. ps. well done on your work
  24. well. i get the feeling that its generally disliked... ... im gunna make a bold move and say i like it... photo shopped or not, it's pretty original (from what ive seen anyway) and i like how clean it is. however a good point is made with the transformer lookalike thingo... cheers. James.
