  4. i know theres a bloke on the forum whos dropped an rb26dett in a vl... ..*drools*... i dont know if this is possible but i know its posible with the rb25/rb30 hybrids. perhaps put the rb20 head on the rb30 block?? the low end power of the rb30 with the twin cam + turbo advantage??
  5. this is a great thread. im noticing a trend: walbro pumps seem to shit themselves at high revs? bosch seems the way to go. any one else pick up on that? thanks every one.
  6. i reckon this. save up your 10k (minimum for lots of kilowatts) and do a bit of research in the process. then when u have all your cash ask the questions you havent worked out the answers for through research. research as in scanning through various threads, reading car mags. how stuff works. com etc etc. james.
  7. i doubt dodgy installs are the reason cops want to defect imports. even if it was the case, if YOU dont have any "dodgy installs" on your car then how does his dodgey install effect you? any way my point was i felt you were bagging him. cheers.

  12. so when you have 1 to the ignition switch you mean it will come on as soon as you start the car???? if thats the case then i wouldnt do it. The car needs to reach a certain temperature before it runs safest. having a fan run as soon as it starts (on a cold start) would slow this process down. i reckon just have them both to the thermo switch would be best.
  13. ease up! there was a topic on the use of pvc as intercooler piping and the people who have tried it said that it worked just fine. even if it aint as pretty as shiney sparkely aluminium. dont get on his back just for that, eh? its a bit harsh.

  16. i believe i have some useful advice. with that can what sort of nib does it have? you should be able to replace it (im not sure what sort of can it is) so find a nib that is a similar size. put it on the can, turn it upside down and spray away. this will clean the tube that goes to the bottom of the can and spray just gas through it. (does that make sense?) every time it block up just turn it upside down and pump the nib (it should clean it if its still wet). even a lynx can nib should do te trick. (if it fits) forgive me if im wrong cos i assume its a can with a nib. cheers. james.
  17. hey yall. an idea that i like is sticking some parts of the gtr on to your car without going all the way. for example, if i had the cash i would put the stock gtr wing on my gts-t etc etc.... so a: looks good (although that is a matter of opinion.. please dont burn me) B: its a more or less original look (those little details make cars have a sense of originality IMO...) and most importantley C: i doubt it will cost as much. ey?? ey??? (waits for people to agree with me).. my 2 cents.

  19. my r32 gtst has its standard wing on there. although i dont dislike the no-wing look, i think my mistress (the car is called mistress cos the gf gets jealous of her) would feel naked without it prefer the spoiler.

  22. alright then. so its decided. A GT2871R with .64 housing anf 48 trim. thanks guys youve been really helpful. but what will need to be done (besides bigger cooler and exhaust) to fit it? ie: what parts will i need to buy with it? does it have a T3 flange thingo?
  23. the head gasket will be done any way cos the original needs to be replaced. warped when (to my horror) the car overheated cos the radiator was blocked
  24. firstly: paul, i was not ignoring yours and others advice. please dont take it like that, i was simply exploring other options. secondly: a daily driver that ill be taking to drag events. all in all i intend to spend 3 grand on the turbo (tops, like if i had to pay for manifold. gaskets. ditting kit or whatever.) thirdly: i apologise if my ignorance is frustrating yall more experienced people. cheers. james
  25. when i got my turbo timer, it had a japanese manual. but when my mate installed it he did a search on google for it and was successful in finding an english version. hope that helped. James.
