Did this car ever run a 12 with this setup? I have read through this hole thread and unless i missed something i didnt see any results?

I cant see you getting better fuel consumption on a worked na motor then a mild turbo motor making the same if not more power. You can easily drive a turbo car off boost offering relatively good consumption. Im getting close to 10l per 100km with alot of mixed driving in my r33 with basic mods. What exactly do you mean by the car being unforgiving even if you do something not stupid? That doesnt make any sence ?

someonestolecc very impressive use of problem solving to come up with such an intelligent analysis of the problem at hand *pats cc on the back* There so unpopular that everyone has one yet they dont like them. People much just hand them out for free to people who want to look funny while driving. Im sure all these r33 owners have r31's at home as there weekend drivers leaving the mere 33 for a daily thrasher considering there so shit and worthless. hows that for "ARGUEABLY"

i say just ignore people who have nothing better then to try then big themselves at other peoples expense. Besides if someone had said that to me when i got my 33 i wouldnt of cared as long as you love your car and its worth that much to you then who cares right?

The laws are making it harder and harder for people to get these cars so the market is getting smaller and smaller so there isnt such high demand now. That looks like a very nice car and id certainly snap it up for 14grand if i didnt already own a gtst. But at the end of the day with fuel prices going up and new laws coming out it is only going to get harder.

So the emanage system is by far inferior to that power fc rival? Or the emanage just isnt as widely supported by tuners thus making the powerfc a cheaper option?

I went and had a look at some aftermarket ecu's this afternoon and my eyes fell on a Greddy Emanage with Plug And Play harness for an r33 for $799 that seems a very reasonable price considering its capabilities have any of you heard any thing good or bad about these engine management systems? Thanks for your input guys, Mike i'll take your advise and look into a aftermarket ecu or powerfc it does seem like the better option in the long run considering the information you have provided in regards to my ecu against a rb20 ecu. Do you no of anyone that can supply powerfc units for a good price? Regards, Dan

Go a r33 they are alot stronger then the r32 5spds and it will be more suitable if you go for more power later on.

Thankyou for your respone i will look into a powerfc or safc. I was hoping the standard ecu would be a little more tuneable then 170rwkw although im not suprised that its potential is limited. Will be nice to gain all that extra power with a good tune. Regards, Dan

Bet the FIX the engine damage with second hand parts .... I wouldnt touch it not for that price unless you can choose where you wish for it to be repaired and get all reciepts

Hey Guys, I have just bought a few things for my r33 and wanted to get it tuned to get the most out of the car. The car has a turbo back Trust Exhaust and apparently a hiflow turbo however i havnt physically checked. I just bought a front mount intercooler, t piece boost controller, 500hp nismo fuel pump and adjustable fuel regulator. I have got the boost controller installed but not running higher boost as i dont want to risk detonation due to a old fuel pump so i thought id play it safe get a good pump and get it tuned with all the parts put in. Now i was hoping to get it tuned on around 10 - 12 psi and was hoping that i could achieve a tad over 200rwkw with this set up. Would this set up be capable of that sort of power and will this be possible by dyno tuning the standard ecu? or will i need to invest in a aftermarket ecu or power fc? Regards, Dan

Thats a reasonable amount less then i had expected however it is alot to pay for a car 12 years ago.
