  3. rofl .... running original oil from japan with a top up ... i feel so sorry for your car the cost of rebuilding a f**ked engine is nothing compared to proper servicing. Id be doing a complete oil and filter change immediately.

  5. Sure alot of RACE engines rev high but they are also rebuilt after each run... you cant expect to much from a street drivable car.
  6. you dont make much more power by thrashing your engine out that extra 500 - 1000rpm your just putting more pressure on your engine and ultimately wearing it out faster. If you want to thrash the shit out of it an rev it out to 8 grand get some stronger internals.

  9. Hey guys, I was just wondering if you could help me figure out how to get my t piece vaccum boost controller to work in my r33 gtst. Basically i was told that the standard electronic boost controller cant run at the same time as the manual boost controller without the turbo spiking its head off. I was told the electronic boost controller is the little black box on the left side of the engine bay near the fire wall??? If i simply unplug that and put the manual controller in will it override the electronic controller or is it a more complicated process in disengaging the standard unit?   11. thats a possibility i had a talk to a guy who said that with the r33's you needed to take out the standard boost controller all together to run a manual boost controller but he said thats a bad idea? .. i tend to believe him as he has a 550rwhp gtst so he does know his shit

Hey guys, Just got my hands of a slighyly modified gtst r33 as far as i know the only mods are slightly bigger turbo, turbo back trust exhaust, slightly bigger intercooler so anyway ... today i connected a boost guage to check what its actually doing. It reads that it is running 7 psi till about 4500rpm then it hits 9psi. So i went and bought a manaul boost controller just a little t piece bastard and fitted it in.. I set it a turn and went for a drive i hoped that this would make it hold a consistent boost pressure i was on 9psi untill about 4500rpm again this time the bastard jumped to 16psi so i backed off went home and set the controller to as low as it goes so its running standard pressure again. Anyone know why its doing this? Regards, Dan
  13. why not go all out and put the engine out of your ride on in there you could then drive it to work and mow the lawn as you leave the drive in the morning .... But seriously... much easier if you want more power to get a rb25 or 26 and as they have previously said if that is going to bore you go a rb25/rb30 hybrid very good set up if done right and with the cubes of the 3l you can spool a very decent turbo up much quicker making shit loads of power.

  18. My very 1st car i build while i was on my leaners it was a vc commodore with a worked 5l fuel injected v8 out of a vn clubsport.... was a very cool car although not a sensible choice for a then 16yr old haha.
  19. A car like that would unfortunately probably end up in pieces pretty quickly if stolen by anyone who knows what they are doing. Hopefully you'll get it back or the guys who steal it right themselves off in it as poetic justice.
  20. Pointless to thrash your engine or hole driveline for that matter that hard. Id expect to root my engine if i did things like that.
