Hi.. I have a RB25DET s1 engine I'm building up. Are grade "12.9" bolts okay to use as head and main crank cradle bolts? Ronni
-
Hi. Have a RB25DET smoking blue.. I know pistons / bore is worn. It began to smoke blue after I had a broken bolt for cam pully belt, result was 24 bend valves.. After I got valves fixed it smoked. Did not smoke before bend valves. A valve guide had broken. Got the head completely rebuilt. Helped alot on the smoke issue.. But was still smoking. Today It was more bad than normally.. Just to check I checked axle movement on my turbo. (A Garrett GT3076r, has run 30.000km.) When engine is just turrned of, no oil pressure of course, but stil hot and with "some" oil in the turbo, how much up and down, back and forth movement must there be on the axle..?

Rb25det Using Oil And Water
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
It is not using water.. Water usage was traced to a leeky hose.. But oil symptoms are not changed. Have ordered new valve stem seals, so will try and change those. Thanks for replys. -
Rb25det Using Oil And Water
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if it was only oil, yeah i would say valves / guides area.. But water also... Headgasget, or broken head / block? Will try today, and clean out the bolt holes to mount the head. Loosen one bolt, clean hole, touque bolt again. Could be debris in bolt holes, so head cant be tightend down....?? When i drive the car steady out the highway there is no smoke, but when i have engine braked and give gas again it will smoke. If i engine brake long enugh it will also smoke.. At idle there is no smoke either, when reving it, it will smoke though. It starts on all 6 cylenders when hot or cold. There is no water in oil, or oil in water. -
Hi. Did a RB25DET swap into my s13, ran perfect for 3 weeks, then bolt for pully tensioner broke. Bend 24 valves that way. Only a few degrees, but bend. Bought a second engine. took valves from that and mounted it in my "old" head, valves were grinded to fit seats. Put it all together with a new headgasget, and now the car uses oil and water...... What could be the problem? I have come to these: Broken block Broken head Broken headgasget. (Maybe damaged when mounting it) Valve seals. The little thing on top of valve guides. Turbo Or headgasget is not bolted proberbly down to block, because of debris in bolt holes in block so head couldnt be tighted down? Also maybe this reason if block is broken.. Any help would be really appriciated.

Heelp With S13 Rb25det Wiring
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi there. i got it up and running. Started first time when i got the correct lower wiring loom. But. 3 weeks later the bolt that holds the cam belt pully broke!! That resulted in 24 bend valves. So now ive bought yet another engine. hehe. -
Heelp With S13 Rb25det Wiring
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
hehe. I did that... And ehm.. Its my own bad! i have to use my s13 lower harness... Thought i should be using the RB lower harness.. So should soon be up and running. -
Hi. info: Have a s13, with CA18DET - Now done a conversion to RB25DET. After 3 months of waiting for my loom from Mckinney motorsports, it finally arrived. But!! The lower rb25det harness does not hook up with my fuse/relay box. The RB25DET lower harness connector with 6 pins does not fit in the 8 pin jack that is at my fuse box. (I'm guessing its for starter signal, and its also for the gearbox sensors?) Also the other plugs from the lower RB25DET harness wont plug into the plugs at my relay/fuse box! Also, the little loom that goes to the knock sensors, there is a plug left over... Were do that go?? (Not one of the two plugs for the knock sensors) Please help me out here.. As its the only thing left before my car runs.

Hi there. Got a garret GT30 here. And it needs oil. So what thread is in the oil in hole on such a turbo? Thanks!
-
Hi. I also have a s13 with RB25DET, though not running yet... But have made my downpipe. I could fit 3". 3.5" would be max. Good luck with solving your problems.

Do not buy it...It a crap turbo. If the seller is XS power. (SSAUTOCHROME) its not a masterpower turbo... Its a cheap china copy.

T70 Turbo, Anyone Used One?
nissan200sx.dk replied to the_barman82's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The T70 turbo from XSpower / SSautochrome is CRAP!! to say the least! The one i had blew after a short time. NOT thrashing it! Sent it to my turbo company, they took it apart.. NO ball bearings, assembled like crap. some KKK parts, NO garret parts. Stay away from it, and buy a turbo from a know company. -
Hi. Formula Was sitting reading here, to lean some more stuff about these maps and how to use them. And after my second calculation i was tired of doing it so put the formulas into a xls docu and thought i would share it with you. Enjoy. Calc

Has Anyone Built Their Own Bov?
nissan200sx.dk replied to midnight's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi. It releases ALOT of air, but is relative quiet.. Just before it closes completely, there is a piiuuu. I had to make a few different springs to get it perfect. (different spring rates) But it worked with the calculated spring rate, but not perfect. It does now. ;-) My problem before this 50 mm dump, was that my 25mm dump (actually only 20mm inside dia - my 50mm is inside dia!!) was not releasing enough air så the turbo would be slowed down.. Made a BIG difference with this bigger BOV. I'm selling out of theese dumps. hehehe. And can make them on demand. If you want different went port or something, or maybe a smaller or bigger intake hole? There is a much bigger satisfaction when doing own stuff and to get it to work. (and its more cheap´then buying a brand name) -
Has Anyone Built Their Own Bov?
nissan200sx.dk replied to midnight's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Hi. I did my own 50mm BOV. Just for the fun of it Picture of a prototype, NOT finished here. -
Disco: It has to be a Garret charger, and a std item. Dont have money to get it modded. So if theese two demands must be met my best option would be the 480hk GT3071R unit? (A/R 0.86) And take this into account also. I'm used to a custom built T3/T4 500hk turbo (Exhaust A/R 0.86 - Intake A/R 0.70 dunno about trim or wheels....) On my old CA18DET engine. It kicked (full boost) in hard @ 4100 rpms. That setup was not too laggy, and just dont wanna go worse on my RB25DET engine. Am not very good at all those trim specs.. I know my A/R's but not all the different wheels and trims. Part numbers dont seen to be the same as the one i can get a hold of here at my dealer also. So in plain english which turbo would you get if it was you? The flow maps ive seen @ garrett, I think, that the GT3076R in A/R 1.06 would be best suited when running moderate boost (1.5 - 1.6 bar). But then there is the laaaag. The A/R 0.86 wont even reach the A/R 1.06 @ 2 bar boost... (Flow wise) But "how" much lag will the 1.06 have in real life...? Compared to the turbo setup on my little 1.8L CA18DET
-
Disco: Thanks for your reply. have really got me thinking. So a GT3076R in 1.06 trim is my best option for a new turbo. My RB25DET have had a head port, and portmatch. will soon be follow by cams and adj. pullys. Here is the info from my dealer. Part number: 714569-0001 ( ~ 550 hk GT3076R Exd: 55mm turbine: 60mmGT30 A/R:1.06 Trim: 84 Ind: 55mm Komp: 76mmT04S A/R: 0.7 Trim: 52 Is this the turbo i should get? Can still change the turbo to this one. :-)
-
If it wont fit, i'll just mod the manifold so it will. Also have my doubt if the turbo will fit. I have changed the angle on flange for the turbo allready.
-
Kewl. Keep us updated! But a part of me is saying its too big for the job.... 480 hk(on flywheel) ish is prob a more realistic aim for a stock internal engine.. So a 0.63 AR GT3582r would be more suited or???
-
Had a loooong talk with my turbo seller today. I followed his adwise on the last turbo i used.. (On my old CA18DET @ 427hk).. THE best turbo ever i tried. So im following him again. I have bought a Garrett GT3582r A/R 0.82. (rated at 600hk) Will prob run it @ 1,5 bar boost. Cheers Ronni Ny Nissan

Hi. Im doing a RB25DET swap in my s13. And now its time to choose turbo. Im aiming at ~500 hk in engine and was thinking of a Garrett GT3582R in A/R 0.63 (Rated at 550hk) How will this turbo spool and response on a RB25DET?
