Wierd Oil Pressure....
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Oil lvl has been checked, before I tryed 1 more liter oil. no change. Its built by myself... Have a slight feeling it may be my oil pickup, its in a s13, so oil pan is pretty close to the road.. -
Wierd Oil Pressure....
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well, the oil pressure is something mechanical... hooked up a regular gauge and it does the same. So any suggestions were ill go fróm here? Will try and remove oil pan to check the oil pickup. Anything else while im there? -
Wierd Oil Pressure....
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
its a sudden thing this issue!... it happend over night... and have given much more gas than what it takes to make the pressure drop now.. but, im fitting a mechanical oil pressure gauge, and will see if pressure drops. -
Wierd Oil Pressure....
nissan200sx.dk replied to nissan200sx.dk's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
no i did not get a new one, the old one was checked. and was fine. but you recon its a mechanical issue not an electrical sensor issue? -
Hi all. Heres the thing... My oil pressure on my newly rebuilt rb25det s1 engine is wierd... happended suddendly. when cold 100psi at idle, when 180F its juuust under 25 psi idle 800 rpms. This is good as far as i know. I will use a scale from 1 to 10 to simplyfy "acceleration" here in my example. 10 is full throttle But! When accelerating, especially in first and second at say 4 ish, oil pressuere suddenly fall of! it just drops, both my std oil pressure sensor and my autogauge oilpressure is doing it. shift into 3rd an give more throttle, accelerting at say 6, I can feel mere acccel. it doesnt drop of, I can floor it, it stays up, sometimes dropping a little.. I have just run in the engine over 5000 km, and have given more and more gas and revs. havnt noticed anything like this! and have accelerated on full throttle, just one morning this issue!!! Im not 100% sure, but i THINK it was after a night with alot of rain and wind. Have tryed WD40 on my connections. My worst thougt is this is something mechanical... If oil pump is on its way does it do this?? what mechanical thing could do this? If i just rev the engine no drop of in oil pressure. Have also tryed filling 1 liter oil more on it.. no change. Can anyone help?

Strange Vibration Through Gearbox
nissan200sx.dk replied to ShayneJ's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I bought a bearing from nissan... They said It would fit all. But hey... they dont. hehe. There is difference in manual crank, and auto crank were the bearing sits. I also used and auto block for my last change, and got this issue. Had to use a lathe to make the bearing a little smaller. Took 0,6 mm of on the diameter. -

sounds ALOT like the problem I just had with mine, and was the spigot bearing missing.... -

Hmm, cant find it on turbobygarrett site.... ? Do you have a product number for garretts vanilla GT3037? -
Which Turbo Should I Use For My Project?
nissan200sx.dk replied to Coquito's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Mafia: Never said thanks for the map you sent me. It gave me a good view of how much you actually advanced the ignition. So THANKS. But ehm... A garrett GT3037? isnt GT3037 a HKS item? The turbo he is talking about is not a "super" fake... Its just the 7 blade version. -
Which Turbo Should I Use For My Project?
nissan200sx.dk replied to Coquito's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
He he. Hey champ. Nice to see you here. Am also looking forward to hearing comments on this. Ronni -
Long story short, I need to know the outside diameter of the "spigot bush" or "pilot bush" as its called in my workshop manual. Just changed block, new block is apperantly from a staega, and those dont have that bush installed. Im from Denmark, and there is no skylines here, so my nissan dealer is very very slow in finding parts and getting them.. But I can work a lathe, so I can make my own.. Just need to know what outside diamter they are. Thank you Ronni

Hi. Just got my car out running again after a engine block change. Its a RB25DET. OLD block was a R33 GTS frontcut. RWD from the start. Had no problems here... New block is also RB25DET but it had 4WD oil pan mounted, and automatic tranny. No idea what car its from. Mounted my RWD oil pan, had to modify oil pickup to make it fit. Bought it as a spare engine, just to get the block... But now my car has BAD vibration / noise comming from transmission. Im doing 80km/t, 5th gear, clutch in, and then rev up to ~3000 then there is a bad bad bad vibration / noise comming from tranny. Not noise like a misshift were teath are grinding. BRRRRRRR noise. If im going slower its takes a little less rpms to get the noise / vibration. I first found out when just driving aorund slowly, it sometimes does the same vibration / noise when shifting gears. Depends on what speed , gear, etc etc.. This problem has only been here AFTER i changed block.... What could the problem be with using a RB25DET RWD 5 speed tranny, on a RB25DET 4WD block, automatic? I know bottom mounts to support tranny isnt there as std, but have made my own. I am thinking a little over if it could be the "pilot bush" in crank, or maybe something with my clutch? Does the RB25DET 4WD automatic has the pilot bush installed as std?? or is it missing as std.? Im a little pressed for time, as i need to sort this before the end of the weekend, as school exsam starts monday...

Faq: Apexi Powerfc - Frequently Asked Questions
nissan200sx.dk replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
HI. Great FAQ! But is it possible to get some more info on all the different settings? Not maps, revs etc... But the stuff in "settings 2 and 4" in the FC edit program... what effect they have and more on what they do. Right now im still a little afraid to begin playing with these settings. -

Manifolds Do They Don't They
nissan200sx.dk replied to WARLORD's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just a note on my own exp with cheapo manifolds and cracking... Has one, cracked 10 times within 6 months, fixed each time. Last time, the flange that mounts to the head, was grinded on machine to within 0.001 mm from end to end. And quess what. Did never crack again. Over a year now. But will do the collector design thingy on the next. Wont buy manifold again. When tourqed down, if just a little of, the flange will pull on the pipes and put stress on them. -
Its not THAT serious.. its basicly just a PLC... You can hook up every sort of sensor to that. And get it displayed. When making the program you can designs the layout of the screen, which buttons are thouch and so on. You can have multiple pages which will display what you want. You can also do stuff like max hold, min hold, average reading, reset etc. I will use the PLC as a turbo timer also, as it will read revs on the turbo. So can set at which turbo revs i will shut down engine. I cant program PLC that good at all, but have a friend who will help with the setup. He is a really bad as to this. I just nod my head and say oooh thats right, and look like I understand when he shows me stuff. hehe. Will but backpressures on the list. All exhaust temp readings will be pre turbo. one sensor in each runner, just at the start of the manifold. The main issue here is just I dont have the time for it all at once... :-( Could use 48 hours a day. Just finished my 3rd mayer school stay, next is my final exam, then there will be more time, and money as Im only and apprentice now. Cheers.

I do have 6 exhaust probes ready to go in... had them in my last manifold, but my meter to get readings didnt work as first thought. :-(Got them From work, 200 AUD each, really fast and precise, can measure up to 1300 degrees. The meter I bought can be set up to display ALOT if different inputs.. If I remember correct the list has around 60 different functions for it. But am working on a hole different solution in the long run.. Industri PLC with 40 in and outs (got that), need a touch screen, (working on that from work), and just alot of sensors to measure EVERYTHING i can think of. including the exhaust. Can design my own menu´s on the touch screen. Also working on a pneumatic gearchange, controlled by the PLC... Have all the air cylender for it, but still working on design in Solidworks. Dunno how fast it will change, but hopefully it MAY control the clutch also. Im in need of time.. Have a different exhasut manifold on the drawing board also, that will get the probes back again, and I can see if there is any issues. Also has the different intake on the drawingboard... Which will have 6 intake temp probes. Im gonna put sensors on everything when I get the PLC up and running. fuel press, Fuel temps, gearbox temp, diff temp, 6 exhaust temp, 6 intake temp, after turbo temp, boost, oil temp, oil press, water temp, water press, AFR, tacho for the turbo, it will also control my methanol... Did I miss anything? On a NA car I think the plenum has much more to say, on forced, its forced in.. I know there WILL be better or worse designs. But for working and not burning the engine, thes designs is working. So far... Taper back.. How much has it to say on plenum design then? Anywere I can read up on this?
-
I have made it with trompets, or what they are called.. Next design I will be using some CNC made trompets, will set offset from the bottom.
-
Why is it so bad? The guy I bought my frontcut from, has a corolla 1.6 komp engine built with turbo, same design plenum and no probs at 500hk... But will be making a different when I get the time..
-
Its my first attempt at welding alu... its not pretty, but works, and holds together. Have a different on the drawing board, will be using shorter runners, and a different style plenum.
-
Mafia: Yeah sure, will post some images when I get home.. And thanks for the map when you get it sent out.

Oil Restrictor On A Garrrett Gt3582r
nissan200sx.dk replied to JonTurpening's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I use the same size restrictor as that. Made my own from ATP´s size. Has worked very well. My oil supply is not from the block though, its from the oil filter sandwhich plate.
