  1. thats it Roy, race what you can afford it comes back down to it. Merli, AFAIK - there is a type of cover, I think its laid up or something? as in cant be driven on the road, but still covered in the garage and trailer while transported? A mate had that cover... Roy - yeah NSW is the rip off state mate Time for me to move state!!!!!
  2. farkin rofl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! joecrack - you should print that out and keep it for reference when you are here!
  3. Depends if your mechanic has had exp with them!! Ive got a lock bar for my HICAS - however if you take it to a place that knows them, you wont have a drama! Question - Is that one of the deciding factors for buying the GTR? If it is - I wouldnt worry, theres alot of people on here who can help and theres many work shops in Sydney! You'll be right mate - go out and buy!!!
  4. Welcome! 1. I dont have a 32 GTR but Unigroup and Grey Imports look after my car. I have done a fair bit of track work and many driving/track events with mine and so far so good. 2. GTR's compared to say...late model type R JDM? (Prob better of using the term "import" or so here, unless you are on JDMST forums....) Then yes, it will cost more. Most people here will say budget another 8 - 10k for a 32GTR if its "cheap" because it may need to be rebuilt. They are getting on in age, and also the history comes into play. 3. Common problems - Im sure theres quite a few! If you have BIG hp - standard gearbox wont hold up after a while - and old member here went through 2 gearboxes with 370akwk Oil pump? Turbo's? Compression etc These need to be considered and checked if possible! If its for the track, Duncan is the best man to speak with, same with T04GTR Good luck mate! Cheers!
  5. Yo Joy, didnt you have that at the Pizzzzzzzzzzza cruise? It does look very nice!
  6. Yeah that grey 35 on trade plates is trying to rack up some km's for testing out here...
  7. Steve, My car is quite efficient and is around 10l per 100! when giving it a bootfull - anyone goes through fuel!! 4 tanks was an exageration! but yeah, thats the most of the money!
  8. and 4 tanks of fuel for racing
  9. ....and thats the best post you could do??? FAIL.
  10. Gary, As you know I have spent alot on this set up. I have the f & r camber, f & r sway bars, f castor, shocks, springs and the sub frame align kit. This year Im trying to do a s**t load of supersprints with my GTS25t and am looking afor a touch more front camber. I can only get around 1.8- for the fronts on the standard/delivered height of the shocks. Are there any more parts you can source or help me with to get my car set up for more track work? So far so good - I have been extremely happy with this set up!!! (Even if I left my car with you for a few days?) I just need a good track set up as my car is mostly driven now on the track! Thanks Gary!
  11. wow, almost a month gone by since last buying post...I saw this thread now and am actually keen...however I think I'll wait to see what happens with the above, Cheers, Chris
  12. Dont mean to be rude here, but there is no R31 division.... So that means Im bringing R31 to win
  13. mind you though if you win it for NSW twice in a row, you are the champion of the universe!! (like me!!!) Honestly - it is a long weekend with all the driving....but what you get upto and the racing etc - it is awesome!!! The SAUVIC guys treat you like family!!! I just wish I could get the time off
  14. In otherwords Rick - FAIL??? thurs next week though you can think of a comeback Seriously though, Artarmon/lane cove we had no hail! which is good cause the r31 is on third party damage so I cant claim the dodgy!
  15. Steve, looks like SAU NJSW has some saving to do to follow BAC. ps - nice new nick name Bozman1 - pm sent!
  16. lol @ police's post I spottted Ando, Anna and Dave
  17. really? cause we got nothing, just a loud storm and lightning, but no hail. We are in Lane Cove, was lucky though as my r31 lives lives outside Although crissscross thanks for the warning mate - good to see members on the ball and alert others!
  18. ...but Steve, thats the thing! Do what you can do...get some times.....take some notes on that day you were there... and then make changes for the next time!! Ive done a 54 in my boat, so your n/a 2.0L is a f**king awesome time!!! And by the sounds of it, plenty of room to improve that time mate!
  19. DECA is an event in Sheperton in VIC. SAUVIC hold it 4 times a year (I've won it twice for the NSW team!) Its a motokhana/autocross style event and is cheap motorsport. Besides your car.... tyres if you have dedicated tyres for competing tools money beer etc Id really love to do DECA again, I just cannot get time off - I do though, reccomend it to ANYONE here.
  20. yeah pissweak!!! was at the pub, outside, and shit all!!!
  21. Steve, Option 2 would be in the Anzac weekend so being a long weekend the freeways etc might get a bit busy? I am keen as, however April is a busy month for me with work. Guys - for those who havent done a road trip for a motorsport event, I say you gotta do it!!! the Vic guys are really friendly and it is a nice cruise drive down.
  22. Its all good mate lol @ freeway monster!!!!
