They are both Bluetooth. It detects my phone but iPhones won't detect this type of unit

Got my new head unit fitted today. Ran the cables down the back for 2 reverse cameras but ran out of time to fit them. Everything works well but it doesn't pick up the Bluetooth obd reader. Not sure if it's faulty. Plug obd into missus car and it saw it for a second then couldn't find again. Finally a relief to have music to listen to while going to work
