bonnet won't close and no room downward do you remember where you saw that kit ?
-
I have the second one which still hits, plus that's the perpendicular adapter which places the vent up or down only. There is no room for elbows so won't work. The other might but looking at it, assuming the hole is 30mm, there's only 5mm or so off the hole to where it hits the intake. So that will need shaving too.

What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Hmm that one will face the recirc vent at 45 degress up or down off horizontal - not ideal Also the orifice looks small.. Remember the Greddy FV is a 40mm valve- almost twice the diameter of the Turbosmart Kompact which is 22mm. So you need an adapter with a 40mm orifice to make the most out of it. My understanding now for shudder with the VQ25DET is most aftermarket BOVs will not release enough air to deal with the slow closing electronic throttle. Different story if you have cable.. So a bigger valve orifice and more tunable BOV solves the problem. -
What Have You Done To Your Stagea Lately?

Successfully fitted the Greddy Floating Valve BOV which completely eliminates compressor surge and engine shudder. Also the ECU no longer hesitates and dumps fuel. Had a bit of trouble fitting the adapter flange as Nissan put the BOV mount right in the internal corner of the intake and it hits the raised collar where the rubber joiner abuts to. Both the straight and perpendicular adapters have the same problem so just cut out some to clear it. Perpendicular adapter will not work with the VQ25DET- puts the vent in wrong position. Well worth the experiment. -

Gee look at your springs!! Is that lowered or is something else in those boxes -
I did the test at 5000 rpm, and the device was 1m away sitting on the driveway. Exhaust was facing the street to so no reflecting surfaces. I get 75 db inside the cabin. With the windows down I get 85 db Device is calibrated and gets normal conversation at 65 db so it's pretty good. One thing... my cat is a single cell , if you get my drift

WHOOO HOOOOO. NO PIGEONS AND NO SHUDDER AT ALL. SPOOLS UP TO 1 BAR NICELY, MAYBE A TAD OF LAG, BACK OFF THE GAS : PRESSURE GAUGE DROPS TO -1 BAR AN INSTANT AND SILENTLY NO MORE ECU HESITATION AND DUMPING FUEL EITHER. WELL WORTH THE EFFORT THIS BOV COMES WITH BOTH SPRINGS INSIDE. THE SOFT ONE WAS SITTING INSIDE THE BIG ONE DOING NOTHING. IT'S SMALLER IN DIAMETER AND SHORTER. PULL THE BIG ONE OUT AND PUT THE PLUNGER BACK ON TOP, DONE. I HAVE THE SOFT SPRING ON THE SOFTEST SETTING ATM. VALVE RESISTANCE MAYBE A LITTLE TOO SOFT. THERES ABOUT 25MM THREAD FOR ADJUSTMENT TO COMPRESS THE SPRING IF YOU NEED IT. BUT I'M STILL RUNNING STOCK ECU SO WILL LEAVE IT FOR NOW AS TS CONTROLLING BOOST SPIKE NICELY. SUPER SMOOTH TO DRIVE. THE RANGE FOR ADJUSTMENT ON THIS BOV IN ENORMOUS.. JUST NEED SOMEONE TO MAKE AN ADAPTER/FLANGE THAT CLEARS THE COLLAR ON THE INTAKE. I USED GASKET SEALANT TO FIX THE BOOST LEAK.

Yep I have the same identical exhaust as Luis, the Fujitsubo Legal my arse..
-
Yep I have the soft spring for the Turbosmart- still shudders but not as violently as the standard one, and have variation in spool. I took the Greddy off today and resealed the flanges. Also took the top hat off the BOV and discovered two springs inside the top chamber- one standard and one soft. You can take either out, so took out the big one. Now the valve pushes in very easily under vacuum and I have heaps of adjustment on the top screw. There's no incremental adjustment on the Turbosmart. I'll test it tomorrow. Here's a pic of the big arse spring and also the notched flange with some of my finest work in machining.

Yep I have new RDA dimpled and slotted with 350Z Brembo calipers from a wrecker. Rotors were $360 delivered(front and back), callipers were $1000, QFM HPX pads for $110 and $600 for calliper service and fitting. I've done only around 100km and there still is noise/vibration from the slots. It does seem to be going away though. I wish I went solid rotors- cheaper too

Had to haul up 50 packs of flooring at 15kg each up a steep wet curved driveway. So put a half a dozen in the car for a bit more traction, the rest in a trailer. Stuck it in Syncro mode in 1st, was expecting to have to rev the shit out of it and fight slippage, went up like a dream with no effort at all. f**k I love this car.. -
BOV looks genuine. Didn't know it was going to be a bitch to fit with bolts clashing and clearances. I don't see it a waste of time as I enjoy tinkering. Especially if it works better than the Turbosmart.
-
Mmm, got boost leak so will need to use gasket sealant. Still haven't tested it out properly as the weather is so bad . Got more pigeon sound though than the Turbosmart with the soft spring
-
yep you can, but its around $400 and only available overseas. I picked up the bov for $150 delivered + $32 for adapter
-
na, it say Samco on it. 4mm id , feels ok. I replaced the split stock line to the boost-t with the 1 mm restrictor in it.

Ok finally have the Greddy FV BOV fitted, but wasn't straight forward. First Nengun have kept me hangin for 4 weeks so purchased a local Subaru one, which is longer with the rubber o-rings. I kept the Nissan one for a jig, clamped the new one to it with a 30mm pipe holding them symmetrical. Drilled through to correct the mounting bolt centres then dry fitted. Had to keep reaming to get them perfect. The adapter plate was too big and hits the intake pipe on the inside edge, so had to grind out a bit off the edge to get it to centre. Luckily this adapter has rubber o-ring seals on both sides otherwise too much of the flat surface was compromised. I had to grind a chamfer all the way to the o-ring The Nengun adapter has a cut out on one side and might fit better. This BOV has a 40mm dia valve as opposed to the 22mm Turbosmart. Finally got the adapter fitted, then the BOV doesn't seat as it hit the OEM mounting bolts. The heads are too big, so had to grind off one edge plus a tad off the bov itself. Started it up, and idles beautifully..

Anyone know what's inside the Fujitsubo rear muffler ? Resonator tube & glass etc Hollow / chambered ?
-
I'm assuming twin tip is louder than single. Twin tip is designed to flow faster ??? Less time for sound to be absorbed.. I think my muffler is slightly larger than Luis and completely hollow. I put a stick in there and couldn't feel a thing. I'll take some measurements tomorrow and db test it.
-
Mine looks the same as Luis. What's the deal with the second mid muffler ??? Does is act as a resonator or something ? I'll put it up on ramps and take some pics tomorrow.. Thanks Josh for the offer mate

MMmm ok, I bought this car with a 3 inch straight through already on it. It has the large twin tip Jasma muffler. As much as I'd hate to say it , it's just too loud. Giving me a headache with every day driving. I reversed up a steep driveway early last Saturday and woke up the whole street. The deep growl at low rpm is awesome, but mid range ..... There's a crackle that just echoes off everything I pass. So can anyone suggest a muffler that will have minimum loss of power, no drone and still a nice sound. Forget Varex Xforce, aint gonna waste $500 on a muffler..., plus extra $$ on install cheers
-
mm, I'll check my bushes from time to time. If I notice any gaps I could make some external locks with a pipe clamp or similar.. SuperPro should have supplied them really..
-
I'm really happy with mine, It's made a massive difference. The car feels so much more rigid, which is great on good roads. Only thing now is you notice the how the stock springs are too soft , so when you drive over uneven road, the car rocks quite bad. Don't know if you really need the locks on both sides of the bushes. Isn't it supposed to give a bit through the bushes...
-
Ok, keep the bullshit to a minimum now please.. I don't wanna lose the 'hot' tag on this thread
-
that's more like it
-
no good mate. Bolt centres are 86mm, these are 92 I guess you could ream them out, plate is longer too. A bit messy, though. Still trying with Nengun...
