  1. So is it possible this intake could cause the ECU to change timing ? It feels like a late spark or something. Still surprised I have rough idle and engine rev. Blocking off power duct has helped a little but not much.
  2. Nice mate, how's it feel to drive ? I'm hangin to get mine tuned.
  3. Got a dyno graph for us ?
  4. Wow what a difference the intake makes on stock tune. I've put the power duct cover back on and blocked half the stock snorkel to reduce airflow until my tune. Back to normal, engine smooth, better idle and less noisy. How's that for home tuning ! Block off the f**king intake...
  5. So idle is between 50 and 100 rpm.. Car is loud, engine vibrates, doesn't sound happy. Probably cooking my piston crowns.
  6. yep, need that fuel pump and E-manage done asap. thanks Matt
  7. So after installing, good increase in response and power. Need less throttle to get the car rolling and coasting on legal speeds. Car seems to have more rasp in exhaust note and engine feels slightly less smooth in the rev range. Does this sound normal ? cheers
  8. Yep, a bit surprised your mechanics haven't found the current drain for starters. Lack of logical method there... Time for a new mechanic maybe..
  9. Seems to come and go now. Looks like ECU trying to correct it. Anyway, very happy with it. Feels stronger for sure and got some nice induction and re-circ sounds coming through.
  10. I had Craig do it while the intake was off. Wouldn't it drive like shit right through the rev range if that was the case ?
  11. I do have an E-manage but not installed yet. Also have fuel pump to install still. Car has ATP high flow, 100 cell cat, Scottys dump and Legalis R straight through. Goes pretty hard. Once fuel pump is done I'll get it all checked on the dyno. Way to go Luis with your new wagon. You're unstoppable
  12. Just had the AMPerformace intake installed along with new plugs. Went for LFR7AIX. I've always had low idle since I bought the car and the occasional stall. Now after this work, idle is rough and way lower. Touch the throttle and there's an initial increase in vibration, then it seems ok. Driving is fine, only idle and take off is bad. I vaguely remember reading somewhere, aftermarket intakes can cause this but I can't see why they would. Or is the different spark affecting the idle. Anyone had got any ideas. Cheers
  13. Finally got my AMPerformance intake fitted, straight away noticed the extra flow. Throttle more sensitive down low, less throttle needed to get the car rolling. Haven't tested high rpm yet. Thanks to Craig for fitting it, wasn't easy.
  14. Hoping to run 25 psi. Need a new map sensor, anyone got one ? cheers, Alex
  15. As new Kompact BOV Only used for around 2 months Direct bolt on Nissan 29mm recirc or vent to atmo Includes 2 springs ( standard and soft ) Pick up from Avalon 2107 or can post for $8 $150 Alex 0411595640
  16. Or get some 350Z rims and make some space for those big brakes Matt. They look awesome on the Stag, perfect offset, hundreds for sale too.
  17. I'm convinced a standard design BOV with a stiffer spring than stock creates an unstable flow within the intake and plenum. The Turbosmart BOV ( both springs, standard and soft )is chattering on decel causing pulses of air. The M35 intake needs more recirculation off throttle. I'd say the FV BOV will open slightly on decel even driving off boost. I have to say I'm surprised no one else has tried the floating valve design. I'm happy my plugs and cat aren't being clogged to the shithouse with carbon anymore, never mind the shuddering and long time wear on the transmission and extra fuel costs.
  18. My car is night and day difference from the Turbosmart to the Greddy FV. Before I had black smoke on shudder/ decel and was going through way more fuel. The ECU seemed confused the way it dumped fuel and hesitated. Now the car is super smooth off throttle and much more economical. I can't make it shudder no matter how hard I try. The FV BOV opens and closes way more than then the Turbosmart. I've tuned it to around 17-18 psi, not hitting boost cut, spools up to that around 4k rpm Are you sure your fuel cut issues aren't stemming from pulses of air , causing erratic data..
  19. I've been told the factory maps only go up to 17psi, so any more, will the ECU keep tune or just dump fuel ( protection mode) ?
  20. Ok, an update on RDA dimpled and slotted : I hate them, thinking of changing them out to solid. Car pulls up great, except now I have bad bed in on the fronts. Rotors are shiny on the outer edges only so the pads aren't in full contact. These rotors are a bad design, the slots are too big/deep or something. The vibration through the pedal is enormous. Their not warped just noisy as.
  21. thanks Scott, great explanation there. My main question is, assuming I'm running 19 to 20 psi with the Walbro installed, will the stock ECU keep good AFRs ?
  22. Ok Tim, I'm thinking of getting a quieter exhaust. This one gives me a f**king headache. I'll be looking at a difference rear muffler and keep the rest. Keep you posted.
  23. Ok, So I've got a Walbro 255 sitting on my shelf still. Is it still worth installing it if I choose not to tune ? I'm looking at everyone's dyno results and the peak power it way too late for what I want. I guess that's part of auto transmission.
  24. What's with the flat spot between 4000 and 5000 rpm Nathan ? Also torque drops off and comes back. Dales is similar but not at bad. Is that the stock ECU pulling things back for the TCU shift points ??
