  2. well the design is enkei rs evolution but i don't think enkei made them multi-pcd
  3. atm, i'm using a flat metal head key that says nissan... is there a factory plastic head key from nissan that will work on an r33? as in have the same grooves? i'm game for a nismo one if someone can get em cheap, imho $100 is better spent elsewhere but i'm a miser so let's not compare
  4. how bout GTR12B if u are on ur way there? or if u think u've got the goods, GTR12C? my all time fav: UID10T but i think someone has it already...
  5. i know u stated in ur post that u only want to sell them as a pair... however, if u do receive expressions of interest similar to mine where only one seat is sought, please pm me a price... cheers, louis
  6. well i've gained a lot from these forums and i just thought i'll put a lil back in i'm not very sure on the repair process but i'm guessing that where possible, they try to machine it back  i'm guessing filler is used after the machining if there are still cavities in the surface?? the priming process for powder coating is sandblasting, which blasted away the filler in that one wheel... a polished finish is nice, too, but $310 per rim??? :eek1: where did you get the quote from? a wheel place or a general aluminium place? the wheel places tend to charge an arm and a leg while the general aluminium places are more reasonable... try looking some of the window makers up in the yellow pages, they may be able to do it for you for less... next thing i'll be interested to see is a fully anodised wheel
  7. one8tsx, aluminium engineering did all 4 wheels... the cost of repair varies with each wheel, depending on the extent of damage and necessary repair work needed... for a wheel that is not warped and not dented only with scruff, it will cost between $30 to $40 to fix it... 2 of my wheels cost $40 and the third cost $35 to fix... the last wheel was slightly off from being round even though it was not immediately visible... this cost $75 to fix... this can probably be considered a dent, albeit a very minor one... they are on old pittwater road, behind warringah mall... cash/cheque only, no eftpos... thanks for the insight on the powdercoating process cheers, louis
  8. sorry to hear about that... personally, if the scratches do not bare metal, i won't bother with respraying... since urs are deep, maybe u've got no choice to prevent against rust... the chances of another incident are just too high to warrant such a budget... i bought mine with helluva lotta scratches on my left rear quarter and was planning to do a color change until i noticed a new mark along my passenger door... sure it may be an eyesore, and who doesn't like their cars looking pristine? but it'll be such a pain to fork out dollars to fix it only to worry bout it happening again and getting mad all over again if that really does happen... i'll rather keep those dollars for upgrades and maintenance... louis
  9. went ahead with powder coating despite the slight marking on one wheel (assigned to the front left position) the grooves are noticeable but not unsightly so that didn't bother me... i just have an unexplainable preference for powder coating over spray painting... that said, if anyone wants to powder coat stuff, these guys get my thumbs up mag wheel repairs and refinishing saga *the end*
  10. front right (not that it matters)
  11. uhoh... coating place rang to inform me that the blasting has taken a lump of filler out from one of the wheels... :eek1: can't coat over filler they say... may have to go with spray painting if the hole looks obvious... anyone know anywhere that'll spray wheels with good strong paint for reasonable $$$? cheers, louis
  12. picked the wheels up from aluminium engineering this afternoon and i'm happy with the repair job... dropped them off straight at precision coating for the blasting and coating in dulux pearl white and should be ready mid next week... will borrow a digicam when that's all done...
  13. well yeah total repair bill is gonna be about $500... aluminium engineering is charging me $190 to fix em all up then i'll take them to precision for the powdercoating... but these are avs wheels i bought off dennis (he bought them f**ked) so they're worth repairing... stay away from the kerb and i reckon i'll still be able to sell them when i'm done with them...
  14. powder coating is not matt, it's glossy... if i'm not wrong, the metal is heated to a high temperature and the powder is applied... someone please correct me if i'm wrong... u know ur aluminium window frames? the white ones are powder coated... the bronze ones are anodized...
  15. yep right now they're just painted silver... and that price is for blasting and coating
  16. alright, here's a lil update on the market research from this morning... even though i was able to describe the extent of damage (and hence repair needed), many places were unwilling to give a quote and said i'll have to bring them in... hell, it's just kerb scruff on the outer rim from parking too close (these are 2nd hand b4 anyone starts about my ability to park properly )... of the places that were willing to quote for my case, a. magman: between $120-$150 finished in 2pak aluminium engineering $30-$40 repair w/o finish circle track $85 avg w/o finish virgin $180 finished in 2pak as my intention was to get them repaired and then powdercoated, my choice is to send them to aluminium engineering for the repairs... drop em off in the morning they'll be ready in the arvo... for the powdercoating bit, if anyone's interested, i plan to use precision coating, seven hills 96247788... they charge $77 a wheel... this was a recommendation from the wrx list, so at least someone's seen their work and is pleased with it... ok, it's now time for me to go drop em wheels off at brookvale...
  17. hey donnie, yeah i flipped thru the yellow pages shortly after i made the post... under "wheels & rims - automotive", there is a listing for neale wheels in sth strathfield, 96421002... i'll ring them tmr... other places that do repairs are: a. magman workshop for wheels, punchbowl 97092686 allen king, warwick farm 0409601700 aluminium engineering, brookvale 99396319 circle track wheels, seven hills 96745651 custom painting & wheel repairs, kings park 96213355 superior spokes, greenacre 96425838 virgin wheel repairs, kings park 96799999 i'll ring these places up tmr and will let u know where's cheapest and which places do spraying and powdercoating... cheers, louis
  18. skyline33, if u were in syd i'll come take a look now, just haven't got the time to head down to melb right now... if i haven't scored a set yet by the end of nov i'll get in touch with u again then to check if they're still available cos i'll be making a trip to melb then... just to confirm, these will be the tein hr? adj. height, fixed ride? cheers, louis
  19. hi all, i want to get my 17s restored and colored white... they've got some scrapes on the outer rim but no dents... i'll be grateful for recommendations of reasonably priced repairers here in syd... i want to get them powder coated white and i was quoted $300 just for that but the wheels will have to be repaired beforehand... many wheel repairers finish in 2pak but i'm not sure about powder coating... i've rung a couple of places up and they want charge $150 a corner repaired and sprayed... cheers, louis
  20. ultimates = squeel i run ebc greenstuff at the front and ultimates at the rear... squeels when i brake lightly but a firm foot on the pedal makes no squeel... as for dust, supposedly the endless na-m are really clean but they're 400+ a pair so...
  21. hey pple, i've got 7 hours of drift tengoku to share... however, i'm on dialup and can't serve... if anyone in sydney will be kind enuff to serve 4 gigs worth of mpeg, i'll pass em on to u and u can post the links here... for those poor souls like me w/o broadband, i can burn em all for $35 for set of 7 vcds CODied... cheers, louis
  22. hey lixid, u nvr got back to me about the grille last time... anyways, if ur gonna pull the parts out, i'm interested in the coilovers... cheers, louis
