  1. What the part is worth in Australia maybe, but here in the UK RB30's fetch a massive premium. If i could get a container full of RB30 bottom ends for $100 each and ship them to the UK i would do as they cost between £400 and £600 here ($850-$1250 aud)
  2. Im REALLY sorry for spamming this section with questions - i didn't know whether to put this in my other thread or start a new one... so i started a new one. Appologies if this is wrong mods ANYWAY! Does anybody have any advice on what the advantages are of running an RB26 head over an RB25? I already have a 25 head i can use, which is easy to do - however im a big believer in "do it once, do it right" mentality. Will an RB26 head make a big difference in throttle response and overall power? Has anybody done both and driven both back to back? Thanks in advance Chris
  3. How much are rips/proengines bottom ends? (thanks for the advice all) (also, anyone have contact details?)
  4. Hi Fellah's I have posted here a couple of times, but im from the UK and would really apreciate some help regarding my RB30 project? I have spent HOURS ploughing through the threads and topic on here and gathered quite a bit of information, but i wanted to confirm that what im doing is correct + ask a couple of questions. Unlike in AUS, RB30 engines here in the UK are VERY VERY rare and bloomin expensive. (£600 would buy you a basic bottom end only) so i want to try and get it right first time! I have an RB30E engine out of a Nissan Patrol and im planning to mount it up to my RB25DET (vvt) head and throw it in my 4 door R34 (see below) Im planning on: Replacing Big End Bearings with Nismo (or similar) Using ARP Rod Bolts Using Standard Pistons with new piston rings (are aftermarket available) Getting Oil Squirers fitted 1.0mm commetic head gasket Questions: What sort of power (in HP because us engrish don't understand complicated KW figures ) will an RB30 bottom end handle in this sort of spec? Can i deck the RB25DET VVT head to up the compression ratio from 8.2:1? Is there any sort of weakness with the ring lands etc on the RB30 piston as there is with the RB25? Engine is going in this car: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y250/guis...GP4389-Edit.jpg Hopefully i will keep this thread updated as i go... Any help would be appreciated! Thanks Chris
  5. I have R33 front and rear brakes on my cefiro. I used S14 front and rear hubs to convert my 4 stud setup into a 5 stud one. The R33 front hubs and discs bolt straight up to those hubs. I didn't bother using the Brake booster. I get good feel with the standard one. The R33 front calipers are identical the R32gtr's. If i recall the 5 stud cefiro runs R32 style front hubs - in which case the R33gtst calipers should bolt straight up. If the car is going to be used for drift, then use the S14 bottom arm as it's longer and lets you run more camber
  6. I did this only the other day on my A31 Cefiro. It's actually pretty easy once you get your head around it. Rears: Don't bother swapping the cradle, it's just far more hastle than it's worth. Just unbolt all the control arms, undo the 36mm bolt on the centre of the hub that holds on the drive/half shaft. Bang it out then undo the 4 17mm bolts that hold on the hub untill they are about half undone. Hit them with a hammer and it will loosen the hub. Then just unbolt the hub and bolt on, either: S14, S15, R32,R33,R34,Z32 rear hub. They are all the same fitment. Then bolt everything back together. I would recomend fitting R33 rear calipers and discs which fit striaght onto the existing mounts (you have to bend the dust shield back) Fronts are as described. You can actually use the S14 lower arm if you don't want to swap the ball joints. It does however give you a lot more camber. Also remember that the holes that you mount the shock to on S14 knuckle are bigger than the S13/A31 jobbies. So you have to either sleeve the hole with a bit of copper pipe and use the S13/A31 bolts OR drill out the holes in the bottom of the shock leg so that they fit. Linky Linky.... 5 stud swap for S13 (exactly the same as A31 cefiro)
  7. I can't seem to get hold of K-Style, they won't reply to my emails Maybe it's because im in the UK and they don't wan to export
  8. We have under 40 cefiro's here in the whole of the UK. All were imported from Japan and most are the RB20E engine with automatic box's. 2JZ into a cefiro. You folks in Aus and Malasia are just on another level to most of the tuners here in the UK. Most tuners in the UK wouldn't know where to start, there are a few acceptions (WMS, Mayer etc) However a lot of people would just dismiss it as something that "can't be done"
  9. I tend to agree, The front end it totaly out of proportion to the rest of the car. Nice idea but it does not do it for me. Why ruin a perfectly nice looking ceffy?
  10. Hey there, Does anybody have (or can get hold of) a Manual centre console for an A31 cefiro? At the moment, i have an automatic one with the foot operated handbrake. However, we are in the process of transplanting an RB25 engine and box into the car and I need a manual gearstick surround and arm rest/storage thing. Does anybody have one they are willing to post to the uk for me??? OR: Does anybody know if there is another car that has one the same or similar? Regards Chris
  11. That workshop X kit is really nice Shame I can't seem to get in contact with them though
  12. Nope mate, I am 99% sure that the Altima was not sold in the UK and if it was, not in any great numbers. There was nothing that i know of that was sold on the cefiro floorpan here in the UK. 99% of the japanese performance cars we have here are imported as none of them where ever on sale to the UKDM. Do you have any links to where I can get A31 bodystyling parts from? Engine/Running Gear bits and suspension are widly available here due to them being mostly the same as R32/S13 etc. EDIT: What are the NS Forums? Forgive me, im totaly oblivious to the aussy scene
  13. What's wrong with us brits? You folks have to remember that there are only around 20 - 50 A31's in the WHOLE of the UK. Untill recently few people even know what they were. What other kits are there then?
  14. Hey folks, Another message from your friends in the Northern Hemisphere! Where are all you A31 guys sourcing your bodykits from? Im looking for a monkey magic uras kit (or something like it) Does anybody know where I can get something like it? Regards Chris
  15. Thanks folks, Sorry about the whole "Tailshaft/Propshaft" thing. Trying to translate aussy english into Uk english can sometimes be challanging! Shorten the tail/prop-shaft... Check.... Im guessing it's worth while getting it ballanced... Chris
  16. When fitting the R33 gearbox, what modifications are you guys doing to the propshaft? We are putting an RB25DET engine and box into my cef and where wondering what the deal is? Is there a propshaft that fits? Or do you need to make one. Regards Chris
  17. The R33 running gear won't bolt straight up to the Cefiro though will it? It was my understanding that the A31 was built on the S13/R32/Z32 floorpan and the R33/R34/S14/S15 etc were all built on a compleatly different one. VLSD's are not as shit as people make out ya know. Fresh R33 VLSD's do lockup quite nicely with a kick in 2nd gear However it's not exactly advisable to lift off while sliding If it has an open diff, i will weld in in the short term then buy something like a Kaaz 2way or something. Im only setting the car up as my "Road Car" as the S14 (that I use to compete in some of the drift series over here) has grown a little bit too extream for everyday road use Thanks for the information folks! Chris
  18. Hello from London UK Been reading this forum for the last couple of days, simply because you guys seem to be the only souce of Cefiro info in the WHOLE of cyberspace. Im a member of www.driftworks.co.uk which is the UK's main drift comunity. I have just bought an A31 Cefiro and wondered if you guys could offer me some information? I have also just bought myself another R33gtst which was unfortunatly involved in a nasty accident However the running geat and engine are straight so I was planning on swapping the engine and box into a ceffy. I can't see this being massivly difficult but if anybody knows of someone who has done it. I would love to speak to them before hand! Questions: Are the R32 and A31 rear subframe & suspension components the same? Am I right in thinking S13 coilovers will fit the A31? I know that R32 rear strutbraces will fit the A31 but what about front? Nobody over here stocks aftermarket items for the A31 and I was wondering if they where the same as S13 items. My car runs an RB20E engine on an automatic box... Which is a bit crap but i bought the car for the shell (which is really tidy) rather than the engine (which is shat) Does anybody know what diffs these cars run? Are they standard open diffs? or do they have an LSD. Thanks in advance folks! and HELLO! Chris
