you can get carbon fire rims for motor bikes at something like 3k a pop. if you could get em for cars they would be expensive.

Thanks NIB, will do. Back Oz next week after 3 months over seas so will drop in and say hi.

Hey all, well we still haven''t had anyone that actually runs the Wolf V500 comment on its performance positively or negatively. I'm willing to give it ago. Nothing ventured nothing gained. Looking at a 1000 bucks for a good NOS controller plus a D'jetro on top of it so if the Wolf can do both its pretty good value. I'm running a pfc already and yes i'm very happy with it but it's not gonna do everything i need. I'm all for supporting and Australian delevoped product too, would love to be the first to run a 9 on ozzie ECU if it hasn't been done aleady that is. I've looked at the Wolf software. everything is there to get the tune right so we certainly can't blame the ECU for any tuning problems. It may take so time to get it right as with ALL new performance products that come onto the market. Steve says he can tune it and i have no doubts about that. Why would anyone say they can if they can't? The biggest problem i see with the F Con is only 1 tuner will have access to the tuning software, so that will ensure that there will only be one F Con tuner in WA. The wolf comes with the tuning software and cables at no extra cost with the ECU so in theory any good tuner should be able to get it up and running maybe even me one day. LOL *has huge NOS back fire and blows engine* Anyway, someone has to take the chance. No point in all us being restricted to the Power FC forever. Especially if APexi are phasing them out. Same sorts of things were probably said about the Motec when it first came out. Anyways thanks everyone for your input, all valuable info. Will keep you informed as to how it all goes. Cheers

my SWB Nissan Patrol with small block chev would pull the space shuttle outta orbit. nasty fuel economy, you can see the fuel gauge actually moving. i brought a bunky patrol, dropped in the chev, all up about 3 grand. way cheaper than rebuilding the turbo diesel that was in it. Pretty simple to. Animal off road too, great for fishing trips but other than that sits in the garage. To loud, to hot to uncomfortable.

*adds Wolf 3d v5 to shopping list* hey the mini dash / hand control attachment looks alright to. Aussie product, what more could you want.

Has he got an e-mail addy? i'm stuck in West Africa at the moment and can't call.

thnaks again guys. i'm hoping to finish my build by the end of the year. and it will be finished with everything i want so i guess once it's tuned right at that time it shouldn't need turning again very often. I assume there are enough outputs on the wolf to also control water methonol injection as well as nitrous. keen on giving this ago also. planning to run 2 bar of boost but would like to run water injection to gain some extra timing on for example anything over 1.5 bar.

Cheers Guys, the Wolf is sounding better all the time. NIB where abouts are you located, i wouldn't mind popping in and saying g'day sometime.

the F Con Pro does sound appealling but only because most of the rest of the engine will be HKS. But there doesn't seem to be alot of people using it at the moment so no real feed back on how good it is except from the dealler. Maybe i'll leave the ECU choice till one of the last things to get, over the next 12 months there should be more cars out there using the F Con. The D Jetro is obviously well proven to i'd feel real comfortable using it along with a Nitrous controller. If the F Con plug and play or require a re wire of the loom?

Some interesting reding on the ECU poll thread so while there is plenty of info coming out and not wanting to hi jack the other thread i thought id start my own. I'm currently running a PFC and for my next build was going to a Djetro. But i plan to run nitrous for the drags. Now there are some real nice nitrous controllers getting around these days. you can program what rpm to start injection, what gears to inject and how much to inject which can be progessively increased or decreased as rpm climb / fall. even a burn out mode. Problem is you buying bascially a complete 2nd ECU just to control nitrous. i realise you dont have to run a nitrous controller but i think it certainly makes sense to, to get the biggest advantages with it and for engine safety. I've had a look at the Wolf software, there are certainly plenty of options for tuning. Is the Wolff able to control nitrous injection in the same way a nitrous controller can? The Wolf also is handy in that you can store more than one tune and seems easy enough to switch between them, so ideal for having a street tune and a strip tune stored in its memory. Any tuners out there with experience tuning nitrous on GTR's? What's your advice on ECU? should i go with the D jetro and nitrous controller or go to a Wolf or Motec to do both? cheers

thanks Disco, one of the other thoughts i had was maybe they plotted Hp/ps instead of kw by mistake.

Man, that sounds like an airliner powering up for take off.

Hmm, the front and rear mechanical LSDs i already have made absolutely no difference to my turbo spool. I must have got the wrong brand!!! agreed, don't believe every dyno from component suppliers, but i think everyone would agree that HKS under rate must of there gear on paper so why would they over rate componets on a dyno? There other dyno charts on they're web site that look about right. Even if it was out by 10%, still impressive. Anyone have any useful feed back?

yeah it's a given that there have been plenty of bucks spent, its possible it was a HKS test car, so nothing has been left out. But even so there are plenty of cars that have had ALOT of dollars spent on them in Oz but i've yet to see one with that sort of performance. After thinking about even if that was an engine dyno and not a chassis dyno it is still every impressive. To be honest i didnt think to would be possible to have 650kw at the top end with such a good mid range. I mean if that graph was a true indication of that engines performance you could set the rev limit for 4000 rpm for street driving and just open it up for drags. I have had TO4Z at the top of my shopping list but after seeing this kai (if it could some how be confirmed) it goes to the top. It would be nice if HKS had a graph for the TO4Z on there site to compare, but i'd have to think the kai out performs it in every way.

Came across this why doing some research for my turbo upgrade. http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/turbo/...1rkai_graph.gif BNR34 2.8L Bottom End HKS T51R Kai BB In Cam 290 Ex Cam 280 2 bar boost 150kw @ 3000rpm 450kw @ 4000rpm 660kw @ 6500rpm That looks pretty impressive to me. What do you guys think? Could this be off an engine dyno not a chassis dyno? Anyone have much experience with the Kai? They seem fairly popular in the Uk. Merry Christmas

Sweet man, if you come up with something i'm in for sure. I'd want mine all in Stainless as i intend to ceramic coat the inside for extra insulation. A perspex lid = rice. If you could also incorporate the radiator over flow bottle into the side of the box that would be awesome but not essential. i reckon there would be plenty of ppl chasing these for there R32 Gtrs. cheers Paul
-
Hey Kermit, have you considered making stainless steel Cold Air Intake boxs? There is not alot available for a BNR32 only really the ARC box. These are like 500 bucks, if i gotta pay that much i'd prefer it to be in polished stainless. All i reaaly want is a box that fits the front corner of my GTR with a flange on the inside to mount a pod, a flange on the outside to mount the intake pipe and a pipe out the bottom to suck in cold air from outside the engine bay. cheers Paul

Serious Torque Steer In Gt-r
Public Enemy replied to Gav's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Hi Gav, my R32 GTR came with mechanical LSD front and rear so i don't know what make or spec level they are but i've had no probs with torque steer or any other steering problems. It can be a little clunky, through the steering wheel and you can hear it, if taking tight corners and using enough throttle to make the wheels spin. I'm only running about 360 HP thou. I also have an ETS controller but it can't reduce torque split to the front only make the torque split come on earlier which if yours is the same may make your problem worse. The LSD up front makes for awesome traction, after warming up the rears at the plex i was able to do 8k limiter launches with very little wheel spin, that's with 285 street tyres all round. Towards the end of the night there was no wheel spin at all but i suspect that was the clutch slipping as the twin plate has a few problems at the moment. If i had to get new diffs i would probably get the OS Giken super lock diffs, they come with 14 clutch plates per side. Doubt you would be able to get them in the GTS4 ratios thou. What gearbox you running with all that HP? You on R&R from Bulgaria at the moment? cheers Paul -
yeah mate, i got one of these works well. turning up the torque to the front wheels makes a noticeable difference. Torque is transfered to the front much earlier. i find the car alot less taily but get into 4wd slides alot more, ye ha. driving in 2wd is great fun too, but be careful. i was used to 4wd and when i first turned it to 2wd i had a couple of "moments".

Hks 6 Speed Dog Box
Public Enemy replied to abflug's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
What condition is the clutch in? What model skyline was it in? Using push or pull clutch? How many hp can it handle, how many hp were you running? -
anyone know the difference between the stock, N1 and GT block other than the cost and that the N1 and the GT are stonger? How are they stronger, do the N1 or GT blocks offer improved oiling, cooling or weight saving? Looking to build for 700 - 800Hp. N1 would probably do but if the GT has other advantages over the N1 then i'd go that way. Anyone got an opinion, what would you guy's do.
