yeah it's Gav, his Dyno sheet is in the RB26 dyno results section. Nice setup. Personally i went the route of Tomei 2.8 stroker kit with a HKS T04Z kit to hang off it. I did consider the RB30 and OS30. Couldn't justify the cost of the OS kit and just didn't feel comfortable with the RB30. The stroker kits have proven themselves beyond doubt time and time again. I've never seen a post on any skyline forum "Spun bearings on RB28" or any other major failure and most of them are making 600+ hp at the wheels. After all the research i did i felt the RB28 was the best option for torque and Revs. My target is 700 rwhp on pump fuel, doubt i'll make that but it's a target. Anything over 600 is gonna be nutz. My only worry will be cracking blocks, but that's going to happen with RB26 RB28 and RB30. I agree the RB30 can be made to go hard, all the 9 sec VLs prove that. Just wasn't convinced it was the best option for my GTR. Perhaps have a chat with NIB (Steve from Top Racing), he has posted up nice results for a RB30/25 in the Hybrid results section. I'm sure he's had experience with both strokers and hybrids.

arrrrrrrrgggggg, fly into Perth on the 1st of December after 5 months in the jungle. No time to get the car sorted. Bugger, missed another event.

nice Av, don't worry too much it will turn up. Some gear can be hard to source at times. Remember these guys don't actually stock anything, they get it in when you order it. I waited 3 months for a power FC. Mainly because Apexi was having problems and production had stopped.

Saying the DSG gearbox is crap is the same mentality as saying turbo's and over head cams are crap. I can hear the Ford and Holden fans already chanting "they cheated, it doesnt have a clutch" FFS, Who the hell uses a 4WD for drifting anyway. The car was designed and built to be fast, why compromise with old technology. As if fighter pilots would complain because there new fighter planes didn't have propellers and bi wings. If you want a manual buy a Skyline, the GTR is awesome as it is.

Thinkin Of Swapping The Xr6 Turbo
Public Enemy replied to XRTPSI's topic in RB Series - R31, R32, R33, R34 (1986-2002)
G'day mate, i'd suggest keeping a close eye on the for sale section. Your bound to have a R34 come up forsale at some time already making 300wkw. Grab that, all the work is done and money has been spent. There are always quite a few high power cars forsale going cheap (for what they are). There a number of big dollar R32 GTR bargains at the moment. -

Top Secret front bar would be my first choice. N1 second. -
The haters are here already. Munrocountry / Scully from early X Files Same Same Even Scully became a believer and saw the truth in the end Monarocountry.

yeah mate, from memory i had to take the sump off to get the oil pump off. Sump off = motor out. and yeah crank collar for sure.

Awesome effort well done. The amount of very fast GTR's in Oz is getting out of hand. Have you turned the Nitrous on yet?

for what model? i picked up an r32 gtr vented carbon bonnet off ebay the other day. Havent seen it yet so cant comment on the quality. But there were a couple of r33 bonnets up too.

Well the safety car was a new thing back in 91 and 92 and it didnt get as much track time as it does now. Back then the track conditions had to be quite dangerous for it to come out. Now it's out every 5 minutes. This has a big impact on the race times.

Take off the hundred odd kg weight penality that the GTR had in 92 and that would be good for a few seconds. Wet race GTR FTW.

I got some ARP exhaust studs for my GTR build. I'm hoping they will have some improvement over the stock bolts.

Nice work mate. How did the weight of the LS1 and gearbox compare to the weight of the RB30, geabox, front diff and transfer case? Twin Turb's FTW, should have fit them first.

That 32 has been on Ignition DVD. The green is spearmint and the silver was done in snake skin. I wasn't a fan but each to there own.

the unfortunate thing is some poor noob is going to search for "Air conditioner rattle" and come up with this thread and go looking for straws in the AC vents. lol -
