  1. Good stuff mate, glad to hear they actually took notice of the engineering report and permits. Any chance you can wright a "how to" on getting your car engineered with mods like high mounts? Everything you had to do etc Cheers
  2. Come on Mr Keets, there's no speed traps in down town Kahama or Nzega. But yeah, always miss the good stuff at home. Hopefully this dispute will drag on for the rest of my life.
  3. For those of us that have not yet experienced marriage, don't say i didn't warn you. It makes you do crazy things. Egyptian cuts off penis to torpedo marriage Posted Sun May 31, 2009 10:35pm AEST An Egyptian has cut off his own penis in protest at his parents' choice of bride, a police official said. The 25-year-old labourer from the village of Sheikh Eissa in southern Egypt was taken to hospital in stable condition, the official said, adding that the man had also mutilated his testicles. "He was in love with a woman but his parents rejected her and told him to marry another woman he didn't want. He took a knife and cut off his penis in his room," the official said. Doctors were unable to reattach the severed member, the official added. http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2009/05...m?section=world
  4. I had the catch can mounted between the battery and the headlight on the old setup. It's pretty neat and tidy. On the new setup had a custom built can mounted were the ABS used to be. Saves having big ugly hoses running down the engine bay too.
  5. Wholly crap thats insane. Can't wait to get my ViPec installed. My GTR idles higher than that with a D-Jetro. Dirt have you experienced any problems with the Hypertune 100mm Throttle Body on your set up? I'm not sure if this is what is causing my high idle woes.
  6. Fast Eddies. a little mass produced but good.
  7. haha thanks for the offer, there are some bloody top blokes on this forum that would do anything to help out a fellow member. My dad takes it for a spin every now and again. He's pushin 60 and loves it when it comes on boost in 3rd.
  8. ROFLMAO I work in Mining, i think i had a maximum of 6 weeks in Perth for the whole of last year. Not a lot of time to cruise, especially when you include time in the workshop. Gotta a few things i want to finish up on the GTR, ViPec to install and tune, the 19's have recently been painted and need to be refitted, OS giken 5 speed, then i might venture out a bit more often.
  9. Plenty of nice ones in Full Metal Jacket, especially from the drill SGT during recruit training on Parris island. But my fav would have to be Joker to Animal "right after you eat the peanuts outta my sheeit".
  10. Dude at 37 i'm one of the oldest owners that hang out on SAUWA. believe me i drive like a nanna on the road. If fact the best thing i ever did was fit a large single. It's so laggy i can drive all day off boost. This doesn't mean i'm not stereo typed as a hoon because of what i'm driving.
  11. Hey man i hear ya. i understand all the reasons behind the legalities of roll cages. Just don't like them as they assume alot. ie the height of the driver, the position of the seat and the type of resraint used. Some mining companies insist on roll cages in light vehicles before they are allowed on to site. Some of these like hilux and Ford courier are smaller inside than a skyline. These vehicles are also required to be road registered. And no a helmet is not required. My GTR is rego'd as a 2 seater as it was orginally licenced with the half cage. But you'd be surprised at how much stiffer the chassis is with the full cage in. Once i tried it i couldn't go back. Once E85 comes out in WA, engineering a 10 second, late model car for the street is theory should be possible. Yeah i see it from both sides but doesn't mean i can't complain about it.
  12. well there's the thing, you need roll cage for drags if you want to run 10's (not that i've done this yet) but it's illegal for the road. Tell me how that helps to keep drag racing at the strip? Anyway i know it's illegal and if i get busted will cop it on the chin, i just won't be pushing my luck by going on big cruises. As for the wheels they are 19 x 10.5. But i do have 3 sets of wheels for it anyway. There's a few other defects that are just as obvious. If only the R32 GTR was made pre 1986. It's a little absurd that 3 years can make so much difference to the mods your are allowed to have.
  13. cruises are dead to me. I'd estimate 10k to clear a defect. The last cruise i went on was the ignition DVD Hillary's cruise and we all know how that turned out. Was lucky not to be defected for my 19's. Now my GTR has a stroker motor, T04Z, 550hp, full cage, etc etc etc I'd have no hope. Hopefully this whole hoon bullshit will blow over and i'll be able to drive my car again without having to pull into a shopping centre and hide every time i see a cop car behind me.
  14. I've got some links on the computer at home, will send you some when i get back there next month sometime.
  15. mucking about at home. No doubt it would fit but not really practical.
  16. 27 pontiac huh, that would probably be identical to the buick and maybe even share parts. Both coming from GM and all. It never ceases to amaze me the amount of old cars people have tucked away in sheds somewhere. I'm in Tanzania at the moment so not much happening with it. We started cleaning up the fuel system thou. Fuel tank was spotless inside which was nice. The fuel pump was a bit of a mess thou. All gummed up with dried out fuel. Pretty simple system, uses manifold vacuum to bring fuel up to a reseviour under the hood and then gravity feeds the carb. Next will be to clean up the carb and drop the oil. Needs a new wiring loom as most of this is buggered. The wires use a type of fabric sheath rather than plastic so it's rotted off. Believe it or not there is a mob over east that make new vintage looms from the same wire. They even have the template for a 27 Buick. Will get one of these and see if it has spark, add some fuel and find out if it starts. There seems to be a little bit of compression, hopefully theres enough to fire up without a rebuild for the moment.
  17. I brought a set of 19 x 10.5 GT7 Volk racing wheels for my GTR a few years ago, rather embassingly they then popped up on the mustang in F&F Tokyo drift. Anyway they've been off for a whle now and decided a change of colour would help disguise them and thought they'd look better in black on a black car. Anyway turned out bloody tops nice mirror finish, can't wait to get them back on. Before and after shots.
  18. 29 rolls huh, nice. Bit to posh for me hehe. Be worth a firtune one day thou. Yeah gotta get the horn, one of the few parts that are missing, but i have found one for sale on the internetz.
  19. Yeah man, parked up in the shed now. Had to clean up all my GTR bits to get it in. Going to restore back to orginal condition, it's a little to good to Hotrod. You'd be surprised at the amount of parts still available for it. Started cleaning up the fuel system, the old fuel had dried up in the pump making a nice gooey mess. Got the right spark plug socket for it today so will be checking out the plugs later.
  20. LOL, that's my spare RB26 in case i need to clear a yellow sticker. That motor made 380hp at the wheels before it came out. I'm sure those wooden spoked wheels would love that.
  21. The new project and stable mate for the GTR. 1927 Buick Sedan. Pretty good nick still, but should keep me busy for a few years.
  22. yeah i used the JUN cam package that includes cams, Titanium retainers and type 2 springs. My understanding was that this package would be put together to be compatible with the base circle of the JUN cams. The shims were huge from memory and destroyed the retainers when they came out and then the retainers cracked the standard lifters which messed up the casting of the head. Lotta $$ porting and polishing that head and it went in the bin Ah well live and learn. Anyway now using Tomei 272 10.8 cams, Tomei buckets and Tomei type C springs. So far so good but only a 1000 odd Kms on this step up.
